I had hired veterans moving America to move my wife and I out of our 2 bed 2 bath apartment, and into our 3 bed 2 bath home. They provided exceptional service. All 3 men on the team we had, James our team lead, Treyvon, and Cedric (the entertainer!) were kind, considerate, efficient, and safe. To my knowledge all items moved into our home are not damaged and were transported securely and without issue. I originally got an estimate around $1200-1300ish for the whole move, and as we all expected it ended up being around $1000 in total. For a day that was still busy and energy draining.... We made our move in July 2024. I hired Veterans Moving America because my daughter used them and had a good experience; she and my wife knew the owner; the reviews were good; and I do my best to support veteran businesses. I have made 7 moves in the military and never had the issues or damage I had with Veterans Moving America. The moving team was professional and efficient, but it was mismanaged, based on my initial discussions of how the move would be conducted during the contracting phase, which resulted in the move taking much longer to complete and cost me an additional $1,000 above the contract. I advised the company that we had large, expensive pieces of furniture that needed special handling. One of these pieces was damaged and others were mishandled resulting in our new hardwood floors being scratched and damaged. Other pieces were just broken and parts of some pieces were lost in transit. I didn't expect to have any issues with this move and the impression I was getting from the staff, but that was not my experience. Veterans Moving America may be good with a more standard move, but if you have anything needing special handling, this is not the company I would recommend. read more

I am very disappointed that I can't give this company a stellar review. I hired a crew of 2 Trucks and 6 men. They arrived on time which can be unusual, so I was happy for the strong start. Unfortunately, that's when the good ended. I want to be clear the 5 men were very nice and capable. This was an issue with leadership. It was the most disorganized move I have ever been a part of. The issue was with the lead mover Kathleen. She was very difficult to deal with. She was overwhelmed and obviously over her head leading a larger crew. I requested they load both trucks at the same time they said they couldn't, it was safety issue. I call BS. If you would of loaded furniture on one, boxes and misc. on another, you would of have been able to place furniture when we arrived at new location vs unloading boxes being where furniture was supposed to be placed. Your choices to load 1 truck at a time and unload led to a very inefficient move. Many times, during the load up there would be 2-3 mover just standing in the driveway doing nothing for 10-15 min as Kathleen couldn't load the truck fast enough. Again they should of loaded both trucks at the same time. We had about 2/3rd of a pallet of boxed tile. I have never seen such a cluster f--k using a train to load the truck. Myron who is a great guy expressed his frustration on the choice on how to move as he had experience with this. He wasn't listened to. It took 3x as long to load it. FYI My 56 yo wife moved all that tile by herself so be careful complaining. This strategy also blew up as it effected the unloading of the truck which usually goes much faster. It didn't. It took the same amount of time as the load up and we also didn't have them put many things back together or placed where it needed to be. Even one of the men apologized to me for the disorganization. We had challenges with Kathleen 3 times during the move. 1st She was trying to tell me that based on time and since we had an overflow day that we might need to use that day. I proceeded to tell her that my wife and I rented and loaded a 20' Uhaul and over 8 large SUV trips over to house to avoid this and that we won't need that and I let her know she will move everything that is here now. She didn't appreciate that. This crew was in need of leadership. I rented 2 trucks, and 6 men strictly for efficiency and that what I told the man that gave me the estimate. This turned out to be the most inefficient method The 2nd challenge with Kathleen was when she told me she can't install the washer and dryer since they didn't take it apart. I was not happy. The estimator new we had those in the garage and should have told me they can't put it together. I expressed my displeasure, and she reached out to the office and if I sign a waiver, they can do it. I had no problem signing the waiver. 3rd challenge with Kathleen. She asked to do a walk through to make sure we didn't miss anything. When we did the walkthrough we found that they didn't pack the soundbar from the TV the just moved. She said she'll get that taken care of. When we arrived at the new location and when I was setting up TV I asked where is the soundbar? She proceeded to tell me that we probably left it at the old house. Why did we do a walk through if you're not going to follow through. You also left your lift straps. Don't worry I sell them back to you. I did leave them a $250 tip. I wish I had cash, I would have tipped the men differently than Kathleen. She didn't deserve a tip. This has nothing to do with her being a woman. She held her own when moving and lifting furniture. This is strictly a leadership and customer service issue. She takes too much pleasure in telling you what she won't do vs finding a way to make the customer happy. A perfect example of this was when she told me that I will just need to go back and get my soundbar. Lastly they took a small chunk out of the wall when moving a TV. They took a picture and told me the operations manager would be contracting me to come out and repair. I have heard nothing from Veterans Movers. I obviously can't recommend Veteran Movers especially if Kathleen is on the team that moves you. Veteran Movers choice in leadership was very questionable! read more

First I used this company twice in two days - once to move my entire 4200 sq ft home to storage & move my daughters things into an apartment. I asked tons of questions before our move but when the 8 guys showed up to my home the morning of our move, I was immediately told a different story - now I needed to purchase dozens of packing blankets from them or they would not move our furniture. We had everything boxed and taped prior to their arrival and had disassembled every piece of furniture but our fridge and a fuseball table which I asked prior if they needed disassembled. I had to repeatedly tell the movers to not drag furniture across our hand scrapped wood floors and not stack 5 boxes high on their dollies because the weight was crushing the bottom boxes as they bounced the dollies down my stairs. It took 45 minutes to get our TV console which is not that big down the stairs. they wrapped it in plastic wrap before taking it down stairs so it was slippery they couldn't get a grip on it. They knocked numerous holes and scratched up walls that we were left to repair because they said they couldn't. Since the tv console was wrapped up in plastic and headed to storage, I have no idea how damaged it is after hitting it into the walls and bouncing it down my stairs. It looked like they literally threw the furniture into the truck. I found metal toy scooters stacked on top of antique wood furniture which now had large scratches. Several Plastic bins had cracked or crushed tops due to how they stacked them so high with so much weight on them. We repeatedly showed them that they were damaging things. I had to hire and manage my floors getting repaired due to the movers dragging furniture and creating large scratches in my hand scrapped floors. And we had to repair numerous wall damage because they claim they didn't have anyone or know how to do it. I immediately called their office but it took hours to get anyone to respond. When I finally talked to the owner and explained the damage required an addendum to our sale and the owners wanted the repairs done prior to close which was in 18 hours, he still would not assist with any repair or come out to look at it that day. I hired the floors done myself & we were up till 2 a.m. repairing walls and touching up paint as well as fixing ruts in our yard. I met floor guys at 6 am the next morning but the owner didn't come till 9 am after all the repairs were done. He did pay for the floor repair but nothing else and would not compensate us for any of our time repairing walls, the yard or any damage. The next day, when they moved my daughters stuff into her apartment, we realized they had mixed our boxes up with Hers. Between the horrible job they did loading the storage units and the mixed up boxes, we had to spend 2 days going through our units and still couldn't find all her stuff. However As we went through our units, we kept finding more cracked bins, crushed boxes and even broken glass. I won't know the extent of the damage until we move into our new home. We paid for the three hours of moving at my daughters apartment however after getting everything unloaded into her apartment in just two hours, we asked for help putting furniture back together. The movers refused saying it was a liability risk to assemble a bed frame or furniture. Wepaid for an hour of service they refused to provide. The owner was not helpful. He literally refused any compensation and said he would only address damage if we went through everything now in storage and unpacked all items and unwrapped furniture while providing documentation of all damage for him to do anything. We won't be moving out of storage for a year and it was impossible to go through all 3 units in detail by ourselves as moving such heavy furniture and unpacking every item in each box and unwrapping each piece of furniture now covered in packing blankets and wrapped with plastic wrapping would be impossible. It honestly was a nightmare that cost us around $3000 and we have no idea what all damage there still Is to our furniture and personal Items. And the owners solution was to send us a restaurant gift card. What a joke. Update on owners response....He never offered to repair, refund or compensate anything & even said they didn't know how to repair walls or touch up. He asked us to pawn it off on the new owners which could have blown our sale. We reported to him that we were out money & time on repair supplies, numerous broken bins, scratched furniture, repacking. He said our only option would be to file all damages with his insurance within 90 days which was impossible with the job they did at our storage unit. So why did I have to compensate them 100% for not fulfilling their contracted services while he refuses to compensate me for fixing their damages and spending hours at our storage unit undoing their horrible moving job? read more

Was quoted a price then found out the team was not trained so was promised a discount but instead had the price raised twice, I was on a time crunch so I had to pay. A very unique award from the military was broken that was labeled glass on the box. Several boxes was placed upside down when the label was clear. Alot of breaks when discussing topics about BS and the workers family was constantly at the jobsite. My first time ever hiring movers. I was giving a courtesy call 30-40 mins before their arrival. My movers were Jimmy and Lou. I moved from Fort Worth to Downtown Dallas. They were super welcoming and friendly. Due to a few inconveniences which no one had control over they weren't able to complete the move in 3.5 hrs. However, they tried very hard! I was very happy with my movers. For the company I would suggest having a 3rd person with moves that have elevators. Only because it's hard on the 2 movers. 1 unloading the truck while the other is unloading the elevator and trying to hold the elevator. There were times I had to jump in and help my movers a little. I know someone will say that dumb on my part. However, if I see my movers struggling regardless of their job or not I'm going to help. So, 5 stars for Jimmy and Lou for going over and beyond! Zach, I'm disappointed by your response. It sounds like blame is directed at me for "rushing the team" and "pressuring them" so they felt they couldn't complete the job as needed. Frankly, that's just not true. They didn't wrap any of the furniture before they loaded the truck. I've used many moving companies over the years and they ALWAYS wrap the edges of the furniture they move. Your team did not. They used moving blankets to load but that's it. They did not use any moving blankets when they unloaded and instead placed my furniture directly on rough wood dolleys which caused the damage. My washer also shakes when it runs now, which it never did before, so they damaged that too. They also did not secure my furniture while on the truck which is my frame was cracked. They only had to move a 1 bedroom apartment worth of furniture from a ranch house to an apartment in an elevator building so I'm extremely confused on how that took over 5 hours. Especially since they didn't wrap anything! They didn't move anything except furniture as I moved all my clothes, dishes and other personal belongings the weekend before(thankfully). When we hit the 5 hour mark, that's when I asked how much longer it would take. By then, the damage was already done. The real issue here is lack of basic training, not me "pressuring" your team. That's where the resolution is needed. read more

I had quite literally the best experience moving ever. I received a quote in advance which gave me an honest ballpark of how long they thought they'd be there, the number of trucks they'd need, how big the crew would be. They were more expensive than other quotes I saw, but there were no hidden fees and, except for the move taking longer than they had budgeted for in the bid, the price was exactly what I had agreed to. We have had (between work moves and personal moves) all kinds of weird people show up that I wasn't sure I wanted to know where I lived, where I was going, or how many TVs I owned. The team from VMA arrived and were CLEAN, COURTEOUS, HARD WORKING, and FRIENDLY. They let me know in advance they'd had vehicle trouble and were running behind and then arrived exactly when they said they would be there within the adjusted time frame.... I have waited longer for movers to show up than it took them to deal with a vehicle problem and then still arrive. They arrived with their own blankets, dollies, furniture pads, tools, wrap, etc. and all were in a VMA shirt. We walked them through each room, what was going to storage, etc. and they took notes, asked questions, and made quick assignments within the team. Once we finished the walk through they said thanks and started moving. They worked well together, they asked questions as they encountered something breakable or valuable, or could they wrap this piece of furniture better. If I could give them negative stars I would. This company was hired to move my family in 2022 and it was a disaster. Not only did they show up late, they immediately took a break for lunch after picking up our items and then took our stuff to the wrong city afterwards. Once they finally arrived at 7:30 pm ( scheduled to picked up our stuff at 10am) they unloaded our items carelessly into our home. Boxes were wet, and furniture was dinged and scratched. Might I add only one man claimed to be an actual veteran and the youngest worker was barely 18 ( so he claimed). The leader held on to the last of our things and started mentioning tips and buying insurance. We felt coerced into tipping and purchasing the insurance so that they would unload the last of our things. Once the left and I was able to take proper inventory I immediately realized the extent of the damage and that precious items were missing. I immediately contacted them and told them what happened, followed their procedure to file an insurance claim, sent them pictures, and crickets... It has been a year now and nothing. No compensation or even a sorry. We never heard anything about our insurance claim after we PAID FOR THEIR INSURANCE. DON'T HIRE THIS COMPANY. FIND A REPUTABLE MOVERS. We hired them because we wanted to support veterans and I am utterly disappointed. I wasn't going to make a review because I was so heartbroken by the items "lost" and I had just lost my mother. I am in a better place now and can talk about it so I am warning you STEER CLEAR! We spent $1500 have our stuff moved only to lose thousands in valuables and damage done by their workers. If I could give them zero stars, I would. This company has moved me twice. The first time was strictly OK and I thought maybe they would do better the second time but boy was that a mistake. They sent 3 guys but only one did much moving. The lead guy did most of the work while the other 2 stood around watching him. Which, of course, caused the time it took to be twice as long. They were obviously not trained, did not even know how to tilt a club chair to get it thru a door without scrapping the doorfacing paint off, they had absolutely no skills on how to place objects in a storage unit to maximize use of the space. The lead guy did his best but without help he dented and scratched the refridgerator and dryer. They also left hand prints on my couch and several solied the couch. The real bunner was that they dropped my Ethan Allen table chipping the corner OFF and breaking the hindge and chipping the corner off of a mirror. One of the guys made such frequent visits to the bathroom that made me very suspicious as to what that was all about. The lead guy actually said "I've never worked with him before". I would strongly suggest the company start drug testing. I contacted a small company to come rearrange the mess they left and they photographed all items before touching them and identified all damages but I'm still finding things damaged. This company is a blemish to the reputation of veterans. Don't assume that just because they claim the movers are vets that they'll do a respectable job. read more

They were great movers. We had a lot of complicated things, multiple refrigerators, a coke machine, a big green egg, and lots of furniture. They sent over five amazing veterans. They only hire vets, which is a big deal to me. I try to always hire and support the veteran community, and they sent some real heroes. A Navy rescue swimmer, a Navy welder, an Army infantryman, an Army Cav Scout and a Marine Combat Engineer. They were on time, fast and very respectful of us and our things.
