As a Veteran - Thank you for the very professional and simple honor of this park. "Honor For All" There are MANY amenities at this location, but I would prefer to focus on the simple and elegant Memorial that is present at the park. Too many times Cities or Municipalities will label something a "Veterans Memorial" and for it to qualify they just place a historical marker or a bronze statue of that sort. Here at the Veterans Memorial Park in Cedar Park they have provided a tribute to all of the armed services at the highest point of the park, themed "Honor For All." The most visibly most prominent feature you can see from all around the area is that there is a black granite structure at 22ft tall. This tribute proudly shows a soldier in "present arms," with his weapon, saluting and overlooking the pleasures of the park to which all members of the armed forces sacrificed for, for freedom. The granite honor is represented by: East Elevation: - black polished granite on a base of grey granite - standing 22 ft tall - six sided base representing all services West Elevation - solid granite obelisk standing 15ft tall - each panel on the grey base is 6ft tall - pictured on the obelisk are deploying female soldiers with children All of the images have been laser etched with great precision and detail. Surrounding the soldier on the plateau of honor: The U.S. Flag, The P.O.W. Flag, and the Texas Flag. All of the respective armed services are represented by limestone podiums that each display their crest/coat of arms. Inlaid on the ground from these podiums is a lighter stone colored path that connects them to the granite memorial. In the area at the bottom of the hill there is a seating/theater area that may be used for events or special occasions. The Memorial Page may be viewed here: http://www.cpvetmemorial.org/index.cfm As a Veteran, thank you for a great local memorial that compliments the entire Central Texas area.

Great park away from the middle of town. Very nice monuments dedicated to honoring our service men and women. The park has covered seating in the pavilion and play equipment for the kids. It has a nice swimming pool as well. Other than the monuments, this park seems to have been designed for the four legged best friends. There is a large dog park area, with a lake for the water loving dogs. There always seem to be a large number of dogs when we visit and they are all different sizes. There are areas where you can take your smaller dog if you don't want to contend with the larger ones. All in all, it's a very nice park.

The large "bark park" pond area.

The trail…read morethat runs over the dam is all paved (not sure how far it continues being paved since we turned around). Lots of pedestrians, bikers, dog walkers. You can also walk on the unpaved trail along the water (it's very smooth and stroller-friendly). There is a playground. It's split into two areas for different ages. It's great in theory but I found it a bit lacking. There's a rudimentary playground that's labeled as 2-5. And a crunk playground (3-tiered, with gnarly slides) labeled as 5-12. Don't get me wrong -- this big playground is awesome for older kids. But it's a bit too advanced/scary for a 3-year-old. Meanwhile, the little playground was too simple/easy for her. So there's a middle age that isn't really catered to. But, great for 2-year-olds and 5+. There are also multiple parks with playgrounds within a short driving distance (Champion, Olson Meadows) so you can easily park hop.

The splash pad has a dedicated fenced in area for the water fun, and a nice grassy area with tables and seating. Perfect for a picnic! I love taking walks with my daughters along the lake, admiring the views and enjoying the wildlife. If you're adventurous you can rent a canoe or kayak from the boathouse and take it out onto the lake as well. This park is a beautiful place to spend time on a weekend!

Cedar Park, this is a joke. So many safety risks and completely inefficient kayakers.

This park is a very popular place for Cedar Park residents because of the huge extensive playscape area for the kids. It also features a pavillion and has well maintained public bathrooms. Everything about this park looks recently built and it appears more construction is coming. There is tons of parking here and lots of covered picnic table space along with some grills. This is the only park I have seen where you'll find zip lines incorporated into the children's playscape area. This place has all the bells and whistles you could hope for, except for a swimming pool. There is a nice paved pathway that runs around the park and continues across the Muir Lake dam (aka Upper Brushy Creek Dam) and includes a large sports field acreage on the opposite side. There's no swimming allowed in the lake and you probably wouldn't want to anyway. However, they do rent kayaks and have a launch point on the lake. In the spring time this park comes alive with bluebonnets and other native flowers. The size of this park is enormous, and is capable of accommodating thousands of visitors. This park is worth seeking out due to all its amenities even if you don't live in Cedar Park. The photos included add much more to the narrative.

Let's start with the cons: it's seriously off the beaten path- there's nothing out there. Bring everything you need- water, food, sunscreen etc. Secondly, there is literally no beach- just rocks, lots of rocks. Lastly, it is not dog, kid, or "out of shape" friendly. You have to climb around and over all those rocks to get to the water. (Oh, and there is a fee per person, if there's someone on duty). Now the pros- it is seriously off the beaten path, which means there's parking and very few people. Secondly, the water is clear and beautiful as are the views. It is near a marina, so boaters give nice waves every so often. Lastly, I loved sitting in my float just listening to the water hit the rocky shore. Very peaceful. I enjoyed it, but it's not for everyone. Let me know if you go- enjoy!
