The technician only quoted a repair time of about two hours for my wine cooler which I found reasonable. The labor invoice came in at $475. I expected an hourly rate in the $100 range. When I questioned the invoice I was told they never base the repair on an hourly rate; just a job charge. If you are not comfortable paying $200/ hr I would look for another company. Now the good. After I complained I promptly received a call back telling me the company owner believed the charge was fair but agreed to refund almost half of the amount. Also the technician was knowledgeable and friendly. So my recommendation is that you make sure you have written quotation that reflects the hours required for the repair and is not based on a "job charge".
