And, when there was a power failure, Market Basket GAVE away all the perishable food to local food pantries where many stores just threw it away or put it other stores.

Unfortunately I need certain items that force me to go elsewhere. It would be great if they would remodel the store to match the better locations like Hooksett. There is enough land there. Would be great to add a pharmacy. The ice cream vender should not be able to control what flavors we eat. Very hard to get vanilla in Hagen Daz most of the time. Sheesh ! They hardly ever have greener bananas. The yellow ones ripen too fast. Don't buy out of season peaches. They are storage from Calif. Would be nice if they kept the store cleaner. The floors are distgusting. Would like to see smaller shopping carts like Hannaford has. Broader selection of Amy's tv dinners would be great. Even Target and Walmart do a better job. But all in all, I am greatfull they are here ! And the fresh (??) seafood counter.....not too good. Should never smell fishy and need more wild fish. The frozen Market Basket brand of salmon is not too fresh, tastes very low tide even after doing my best to counter that.

This little deli is a local treasure in a rural area. At lunchtime, the parking lot is like a beehive with cars and trucks of people working in the area pulling in and back out with freshly made sandwiches, salads (not green salads, but the kind made with real mayonnaise), and those huge dill pickles that used to stand around in barrels at old time delis. There are individual servings of desserts in a refrigerator, a smattering of fresh produce, fresh breads, snacks, beverages (including beer and wine, and there is even a tiny wine alcove), ice cream, birthday candles and other things you might need once in a while but can't seem to lay your hands on. In the mornings, there are house-made breakfast sandwiches in a warmer so people can grab and go. The people work hard and are kind and friendly. We stopped in on Memorial Day - along with everyone else in the area - to pick up potato salad, seafood salad, and macaroni salad, and they were prepared! It was all hands on deck at the deli, shelves were stocked, and there were extra checkout clerks. Whether it's at the unofficial kickoff to summer or on snowy day, the fine folks at Rum Brook Market are there to make your day just that much more satisfying.
