I really enjoy Market Basket because they have almost everything I need to cook good, healthy meals. The big stores can be overwhelming but this one in Concord New Hampshire is smaller than others, but not too small. I liked it as it was pleasant, neat and clean. I like how they decorate for the Autumn; pumpkins, flowers. I needed a few things I couldn't find at another grocery chain, I won't mention names. I understand this store is small but the employee's are rude and act like you are bothering them if you have a question....furthermore the bathrooms are ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!! They are filthy, I don't think anyone cleans them. There was piss on the floor, crap on the seat as well as piss on the seat, wreaked of crap and urine. This is rated as a $ business but is at LEAST $$ on produce. You can't even get salad fixings in large sizes.

The sub shops at Fort Eddy and In Warner are awesome. Penacook not so much this is the third time I have stood for about ten minutes with neither acknowledgment or service. I'll think I'll stick to the good ones. read more

I ordered meat & cheese and vegetable & fruit platters/bowls from, respectively, Antoine in Deli and Michelle in produce and they turned out wonderfully. Love this supermarket! I've only been living in South Concord for a year but this place has become my favorite place to stop when I want to grab dinner. The staff are so helpful, professional and friendly. The people in the deli always offer my kids some cheese. When I needed a roast beef, the manager personally went outback and found me exactly what I was looking for. Since the store is a bit smaller than their other location they don't always have everything I need but the manager told me they are happy to,order anything I need. I love the cashiers- they are always friendly and kind to my 4 year old son. I really do love this store- it has such a small town feel to it. read more

I will never shop here again (as directed by a customer to "stay home" when I told him and his companion they were going the wrong way). The companion later gestured their combined IQ's with a middle finger in the air. Though I complained to management, I was told nothing could be done. It seemed that he just wanted to keep business as usual and not handle those who disregard safety. They were going the wrong way, not maintaining distance or wearing masks and shopping together. All unsafe for those around them. I just want 6 feet which means going the right way. Everything else is choice. That's fine. This photo was taken after. How this place has 5 stars is way beyond me. It's more like a 99 cent store with regular store prices. It's tiny and very outdated.I am visiting from the west coast and this store wouldn't last out there. They have very limited selections and no organic isles. It was packed and made me wonder if this is the only store in town. It seemed dirty too. read more

Aside from being super cheap and extremely close this store has the friendliest people around....I have shopped here for decades and right next door is the Liquor Store & Burlington Coat Factory (My other favorite stores in Concord) It is a fact that although the choices may be less than the other larger stores it essentially has everything that you could ever need (Except for hot tea for my Keurig despite several requests to get it in stock) but other than that you can't beat the staff the location or the prices!!! Why would I shop any where else? Well, Ill tell ya...occasionally I like to sip a nice cup of hot tea from my Keurig...LOL! read more

If you aren't familiar with the New England Market Basket, you won't know what it's like to be in a mass market retailer and see so many employees. It is not uncommon to find workers just waiting for a customer to ask for help. The chain is noted for the best prices and that includes exotic items you thought only specialty shoppes carried. I can buy lingonberry preserves at MB- how many supermarkets even know what a lingonberry is? Unfortunately the Storrs St location doesn't have them. Small, even by 1980s standards, but packed to the gills with variety and selection, which are rare things in New Hampshire. The store gets crowded as it is the easiest to reach for most of us (the only supermarket west of the Ft Eddy Rd mess). This is not a pretty store, but the tin of beets I bought today doesn't suffer for it, nor do I. The best thing about this store is the pricing, closely followed by the location. The worst is the bread selection- nothing but gummy soft stuff. Worth mentioning is the spectacular red neon sign- no plastic-over-florescent-tubes here. Best seen from the street on a lowering, drizzly day (we have so many!) near dusk for contrast. read more

Absolutely disgusting! It's obvious the floors haven't been vacuumed, swept or mopped in MONTHS!! They also have a small selection of everything! Spices, produce, meat, and they don't even have a bakery?? They also don't have bathrooms????! The meat selection is awful! The only thing they have for 2 breasts per pack for chicken? They also don't have pre-marinated chicken and steak? It's much worth going to fort eddy rd market basket!! It's the one on Storrs street is more convenient and it's closer to a bunch of other stores it's worth the drive!! The employees are also rude!! I asked the woman at the deli if they had a bathroom and she said "we only have staff bathrooms and thier not available to customers! The woman at the register rolled her eyes and asked me to pay in a different form of payment because she didn't feel like dealing with cash! The bagger was being quiet and I couldn't hear her well and she had to repeat herself because she said "do you want your meat bagged separately" and when she had to repeat herself she said "maybe it's time to get some go**amn hearing aids! Just had the WORST experience at this Market Basket. Ran in for a few things because I was passing by. I usually shop at Hannafords. Anyway, I was checking out through the express lane. When it became my turn to "check out" my presence wasn't even acknowledged. The cashier then starts taking out her drawer. Her manager comes over, they have a little banter back and forth then she starts counting her money in front of him. They BOTH look at me and don't say a word and go back to what they were doing. At that point I was beyond irritated. That kind of behavior in a customer service role is ridiculous...especially when it's done by the cashier AND supervisor. Once she is done counting, she packs up her things and another girl takes her place. They start chatting back and forth and the new girl asks her how she signs in (presumably because she must be new). They again start chatting back and forth without the acknowledgment that I had been standing there for 10+ minutes. I got so frustrated that I just walked off and left everything there. If you are working in a customer service role.... ACKNOWLEDGE the customer. Let them know what you are doing, and that someone will help them shortly. Common sense! I love Market Basket, but this one is the one I don't go too often because it's an older one and much smaller than the other ones. I only go there out of convenience. But today, I was amazed by their services! We bought many cases of beers for my cousin's wedding, and MB always have good deals on beer. At the register, we found one of the beer price was more expensive than it showed on the shelves. So they sent a younger kid to check on the price but came back with the manager, and told us the price tag was wrong, it's not one sale, but he still gave us the deal. Not just that, another supervisor came over about the same time cause she noticed one of the handle of that case of beer was broken, and she put some tapes over it, so we were able to carry the case without dropping it. I never went to any supermarket that had 4 employees serving us at the same time: manager, supervisor, cashier and the bagger!! read more
