I had no idea this store existed until somebody told me about it at the barbershop. I live about 20 miles away, and we're used to a smaller Market Basket in Warner and a competing store from a Maine-based conglomerate based in our hometown, which shelves often resemble a grocery store in the old Soviet Union. This store is gigantic. Not only that, but it's ready-to-go food sections are immense. Extremely well, equipped, full shelves, great variety of organic products, a huge meat section, an entire containers full of frozen fish, in addition to fresh seafood at the meat counter. I found the service to be excellent, with numerous people ambling by filling their carts while busy employees, restocked shelves consistently. For the life of me, I don't understand why this grocery chain does not have self checkout aisles. I invariably do my own to make sure that my vegetables are not bruised or damage when I get home, which usually is the case when I go through a checkout counter. I really like this place. Loyal customer for 30 yrs but new management us awful.i could not buy a cucumber the other day..out if bagged salad, no lemons. Today no Goya kidney beans!? Zero... And cannot get over the person who gave a 1 star review because perhaps the manager was managing at the time and could not bag his groceries for once---give me a break! There are two Market Baskets in Concord, this location and the other location on Storrs Street. This is the better of the two, where I shop at after work My coworker also shops here too and brings his son with him (on purpose) who plays varsity sports at a local high school. When he's all finished shopping, my coworker will choose the checkout line with the "prettiest girl" and tells his son to strut his stuff and show off his varsity jacket, teaching the kid to be the man! The Market Basket tends to have lower prices than the nearby larger supermarkets Hannaford and Shaw's. This supermarket is not fancy which has the traditional old school layout of aisles plus butcher, deli, seafood, produce, and bakery departments. They have good weekly sales and everyday low prices. However, the produce selection seems very limited compared to other supermarkets, since when I was here recently, they had no bananas in stock. :-( read more

Bought 3 large packages of 85% lean hamburger here today to make meatloaf totaled $28.38 got home and opened it up and the inside was all brown. Brought it back to the store and they gave us new packages and claimed that they gave us freshly ground however when it was brought home by my fiancé I totaled it up and they gave us a .01 discount off for a total of $28.37. I'm almost afraid to open these packages. read more

I have been shopping at mb for years. Their prices are great. It is crowded but I work an odd schedule and am able to shop mid week. I went in on a weekend once and it was crazy. The only thing I buy at other stores is their boneless skinless chicken breast. Some time last year every package of chicken from mb had 1 or 2 pieces of chicken that was extremely tough. Even before it's cooked it's tough. As I trim the chicken I pull out the breast that are MUCH harder than the others. I stopped buying their chicken and buy it at walmart now. Today I didn't have time to goto walmart so I bought chicken at mb. It hasn't changed. Each package had a very tough piece. Can't even chew it tough! If it wasn't for the chicken I'd give mb 5 stars. read more

This is THE most ethical corporation in New England. Look how their employees stood up for the "good" family member and rebelled against the "bad" ones. That's all in the past. Since then they have recovered. Prices are still awesome. Prepared food has expanded and is delicious. Wide variety of products. Great, great produce, bakery, meat and seafood. MB is always my FIRST grocery trip. I only use Hannaford, Shaws and -- just lasso me before I ever set foot in there again -- Walmart. We shop at the Concord NH Market Basket every week. This morning I went shopping and unfortunately I forgot my wallet, no cash, no credit cards. After a brief conversation at the customer service window, a wonderful woman, Gloria came out, spoke to me, looked at my cart, and offered to give me $50 cash to pay for my Groceries. I live about 1/2 hour away, so to run home and retrieve my wallet would have been a chore. Thanks to Gloria she made my life easy, she went above and beyond with the level of service. Her extremely kind act reinforced why we have been loyal Market Basket customers for years. I can't say enough nice things about the people in this store. Killer Northland and Langers berry juice. Almost gave up on Hungry Man deluxe fried chicken but they were good and $2.50! Snagged an under $5 strip steak even had some marbling. Seared the hell out of it and texture was decent. More cooking=more flavor. Dipped in Teriyaki mayo. read more

This store is not safe or welcoming. This store has rude customers who don't give dix feet and go the wrong way then tell you to "stay home" if you don't like it. More people don't wear masks here and shop in pairs which is also unsafe. Produce and breads also go bad quickly. Check expiration dates, too. read more

I have gone here a few times now, and found the employees treat the customers horribly. I always ask for my groceries to be double bagged because they over stuff the bags and a few times now the bags break and things go everywhere. Also they always squish my bread even when I ask for it to be alone. The lady was rude to me and impatient. I won't be returning to this one. Terrible experiences there. Also the clerk asked me the price of something and I answered and then she actually said no it has to be more than that and had it price checked and it was the price I said. I can see getting a price check that's valid but the way she did it made me feel like I was trying to get something cheaper. I was like seriously, did she really do that. A few times now the employees have been rude, I just don't like this one. Won't return there. read more

Thank the lord that this nightmare is OVER!!! God Bless Artie T, his family of over 25,000 has grown to MILLIONS!! Generally my opinion is neither here nor there in all of these multi billion dollar deals but I have to say that this one has impacted our family directly. Raising a family of 4 is absolutely severe on finances. Shopping at our Market Basket is a very large part of my ability to simply keep my family fed. This Desmoulas family feud has literally lasted decades and rather than simply retiring and leaving the working class able to do their jobs Arthur S. sits on the board of Directors barking orders and collecting his cash..... then made his move and ousted Artie T. Regardless that Artie T. was out there working with management directly in the daily grind and keeping the momentum going in every one of the successful grocery stores which kept Arthur S.'s pockets lined. Arthur S.held 50.5% of the company and sat on the Board of Directors and collected the cash as it rolled in, but that wasn't enough for him so he had Artie T. removed from his position then the greedy cousin had his evermore greedy little paws outstretched and grasping for more money than half the state will ever even earn in a lifetime all while the company starts to flounder, it's employees struggle and it's customers blow their grocery budgets for the year. What is it that makes greed grab a hold so violently? How can a person's greed get in the way of the livelihood of thousands of our Mothers, Brother's & especially our Grandparents need for fair priced groceries and even worse A PAYCHECK!! Hell, I feel bad when I have a lot of items at the store and I make people wait in line behind me, I constantly allow other people with fewer items go ahead of me and this man already has been given so much and is already one of Boston's wealthiest and now he has the gall to stand by with his hands outstretched even more??? Didn't his wealthy father ever teach him how to play nice and appreciate what you have? How can a person sit back in his mansion knowing that his actions have firsthandedly impacted so many already struggling families in New England.How can a person be that one-sided? It is politicians and people like this that have caused this economy that has so many struggling people just trying to simply live....we already hear of so many that have to choose between medication or groceries and Thank god it is summer because if this had happened in the winter months I really don't know how this man could live with himself. I work right next door, so this would be the most convenient grocery store for me; it's also the cheapest grocery store in the area. It's a nice small store, so if you just need to run in and out for a gallon of milk, it's easy. However, I usually avoid this place for a number of reasons: 1. The staff is often rude. 2. The aisles are very small, so if the store is busy it's tough to maneuver around other people and carts. 3. The check-out lines are long and there is usually a long wait to pay. 4. Their selection of organic products are more limited than other large grocery stores. I usually prefer Hannaford or Shaws, but it's true that you can't beat the price here. read more

A fairly good variety of food selection: not great, but good. They do have a great selection of alcohol, though! Lots of local beers and drink mixes and wines. Anyway, they do have low prices, which is the main thing. Fair selection of meats, and good prices on those too. I am not sure who the store manager is, maybe he is nice, but the staff do not impress me. The cashiers always seem like they don't give a flip. Maybe they feel they are "above" the customers because a lot of people that come are very poor, or old, or on welfare? I don't know. I don't really like the atmosphere of the store. But overall, most people go to Market Basket to save money, and it does deliver on that point. read more

The prices on some things are very good, althought the variety, especially in the produce area is very limited. The freshness of the produce is not good either. Today as I was shopping an employee was using a huge floor cleaner further up the aisle I was at the end of the aisle reaching for a bag of cookies and he got close to me and said "Excuse me". I had to move. I have never seen floor cleaners being used in a grocery store at 4:30 PM!?! Also, there were only a few single bananas in the banana section. read more

I did a quick stop after work yesterday to pick up a few things. I was interested in getting a few lobsters as the price is great right now, too many flies around the counter so I decided not to get any. I was also followed around by some creepy balding manager, I don't think I will be going back. Not sure if he thought I was a shoplifter or if he was trying to flirt with me. Lobsters are on sale so I tried to have a few steamed in advance of getting to the store was told this was against store policy by both Concord and Tilton stores. I was also told it was a first come first served policy and that was why the couldn't take an advance order. Call me crazy If I called first I would think it would help them rather than me show up at 5pm when there busy.
