He always makes sure to answer all our questions and takes his time to make sure we have all the tools needed to succeed as parents! We also love dr McWhirter, she is so thorough and attentive. I wish everyone had drs that care so much about their patients like the ones at Rivertown Pediatrics! We have been coming here for two years for my son and have recently added a new addition to our family, who has had several health complications, and the physicians here are so on top of every treatment or scan that is done. You can tell they genuinely care about children and are willing to bend over backwards to help them. I was struggling with my daughters tongue and lip tie and they took care of it same day and even stayed an hour and a half after close to make sure my baby could eat properly. They always put children first and it shows in how they run their practice. We couldn't have asked for better care for our children and I'm so grateful to have found this office.

Because I live 1.5 hours away, I cleared it with the office to see all 3 of my kids in one appointment. I confirmed the appointments the day before. The day comes and I load my kids up and drive all the way there. When I walk in, I'm not greeted and they pretend I don't exist for about 2 minutes. When finally acknowledged, they refuse to see all 3 of my kids. The owner refuses to make an exception to the policy. I explain that I cleared all this when I made the appointment and reiterated my travel. I then repeatedly asked if I can just speak to the owner and I'm told over and over "she wouldn't want to speak to you" like I'm some kind of pariah. I'm not yelling or being disrespectful in any way, but apparently I'm not worthy of a conversation. When I ask why, same response. Then I'm told I basically have to choose which kid is less important to me because they'll only see two. But yeah...I'm the problem.

My daughter had prepared some questions to ask the doctor regarding the new medications she had prescribed my grandson for ADHD and depression. After all, it was his appointment for "medicine review". My daughter had done some research and talked with other parents in similar situations with similar negative side effects and wanted to discuss possible other options with the doctor. When my daughter began to talk, the doctor was visibly agitated and became immediately confrontational. She verbally attacked my daughter with condescending remarks as if how dare she question these medications. She then said, "Oh so you are the doctor now and I have nothing to say". She just sat there and started typing her notes. I then asked her a question and she said "ask her, she's the doctor" and pointed at my daughter. I questioned her comment to me and she said "I'm not going to repeat myself". She stood up and said "good luck" and opened the door and walked out. We didn't know what had just happened. We were both in shock. We walked to the counter to check out and the girl said "I'm sorry it looks like Dr. Chaundra has released you as a patient". The girls behind the counter were very kind and sympathetic. The look in there eyes was obvious that we weren't the only ones to have ever experienced this behavior. So we left there with NO doctor, NO answers, NO plan for a precious 7 year old. How could a doctor prescribe narcotics to a child and then in a matter of minutes just leave this child hanging with no direction? Completely unprofessional and inhumane! Still in disbelief...

It took me years to have him due to fertility issues. I am very selective on who I choose for his care. I trust her and come to her for absolutely everything. She is very knowledgeable in very thing I have come to her so far with. I 100% recommend her. The Nursing staff and the administrative staff has also been very kind and helpful as well.
