The drs here are so amazing, We literally have loved every single one we've seen. We mostly see dr Heiss, who has the best parenting advice and is always so kind and knowledgeable. He always makes sure to answer all our questions and takes his time to make sure we have all the tools needed to succeed as parents! We also love dr McWhirter, she is so thorough and attentive. I wish everyone had drs that care so much about their patients like the ones at Rivertown Pediatrics! We have been coming here for two years for my son and have recently added a new addition to our family, who has had several health complications, and the physicians here are so on top of every treatment or scan that is done. You can tell they genuinely care about children and are willing to bend over backwards to help them. I was struggling with my daughters tongue and lip tie and they took care of it same day and even stayed an hour and a half after close to make sure my baby could eat properly. They always put children first and it shows in how they run their practice. We couldn't have asked for better care for our children and I'm so grateful to have found this office. read more

Guys- from A normal realistic parent, not someone just ranting on here due to 1 bad experience. 1. Rivertown will get the job done- but the same way the insurance companies do these days. Big bill- extra fees- and low commitment to customer care. And we're talking about children here. It's mainstream process through, don't make any waves type care, get you out the door to Walgreens for over the counter as fast as possible. And the other yelpers aren't kidding....you're going to wait. Block out a half day. 2. They are not capable of sensitive administrative processing. If you need it to happen- it won't. We had to pay 20$ for a physicians sign off on dental work....yes just the signature. Rivertown is going to get into your pocket through quite a few tunnels- like buying a car. "Convenience Fee" type stuff. 3. Front desk assistants are congruent with city DMV and probate ladies. Don't bother them with a question or a call. You'll be lucky to find a topic they deem important. 4. There is no such thing as a "sick side" and a "healthy side". That's a gimmick to make you more comfortable and snag the business of the simple minded. They bottle neck all of the kids into the same hallways doors rooms bathrooms and common areas for services/treatment so don't be so quick to assume the sick kids are quarantined off and you're breathing separate air. Be smart...go somewhere else there is plenty to offer in Columbus. read more

Worst visit ever! Someone skipped the check in line & they continued to check her teenager in without regard to those ahead of her with little babies & kids. It only got worse from there. Over 1hr wait, so we eventually walked off because of other appointments we had scheduled. Worst experience ever!!! I'm usually patient with service oriented businesses, but today was completely bad. My daughter's name is always mispronounced despite correcting them every time. They don't even try. read more

The doctors here have always been great. The nurses are sometimes great and sometimes impatient, and just trying to hustle off to the next appointment. The front office staff are nice, but not efficient. You usually can't get through by phone, and there is no point in leaving a message- they often won't call you back at all, and, if they do, it will be at least a day later, but more often 3 days. We had to wait 2 weeks just to get a referral sent to a specialist, and then, the specialist said they didn't receive it! Another referral, besides the wait time of almost 2 weeks, they printed a paper copy (for some reason) and said I had to come in and pick it up. In the office, you will always wait for a very long time, at least 45 minutes or an hour in the waiting room, 20-45 minutes in the doctor's office, and another half hour if your kid has to get shots. Every visit takes a minimum of 2 hours, usually more like 3-4. They are also very expensive. You better have good insurance. They also make you come in for every tiny thing, you can't usually just ask a question over the phone. They say they have tele-health visits, but so far haven't let us book one, even though I've asked. Again, the doctors are great, but the office is not run well, it's understaffed, slow, inefficient, and the visits are expensive, usually around $300 for a basic visit, plus any add-ons or tests. read more

Dr. Oliver is great and my kids love him, BUT...wait times are extremely ridiculous. What is the point of having an appointment when we aren't seen until 2 hours later? Every single time my kids have had an appointment we have had to wait 1-2 hours. Whether it be in the waiting room or in the actual room. They don't seem to care and just let you wait. Kids get restless and we shouldn't have to wait hours on end. Moving on from this unorganized practice. read more

My body my choice still doesn't apply to your medical needs at Rivertown Pediatrics. If you don't vax due to religious exemption or any other reason, they don't care here. Your medical decisions aren't their concern. Medical professionals believe if you don't do what they tell you to with your body then you can go somewhere else. Unfortunately my insurance suggests them and this was the reason we left them 9 years ago. But hey...thanks for the free physical exam. That's all I really needed from them anyway. Great place! We've been coming here for a couple years with my 9 year old daughter and 3 year old son. The front desk staff seems a little unhappy but the nurses and docs are very friendly with the kids. There are tons of fun things to keep kids entertained while waiting. We do usually have to wait a while but that's to be expected. We see Dr. Cheek or Tabitha and both are great! I would recommend! read more

I've just had it with this peds office. They're 45 minutes late EVERY APPOINTMENT no matter what (we've had 5) and their front desk people need to step up their work. I have been told 3 times now that my appointment is a different time that it actually is (I.e. 8 am on Tuesday when the docs don't even come in until 9 am). I've even had the handwritten card to prove it! They don't care. THEY were unable to schedule my sons 3 month appointment until he is 4 months, so now we're behind (currently almost 8 months and STILL haven't had our 6 months appointment) They are constantly educating me on the wrong age, our last appointment at 6 months was for 4 month shots and they were giving me material for 4 month babies. They are literally too small minded to give me 6 months sheets as well. These are the people caring for my baby?! Oh hell no. I've been a registered nurse for 5 years, without pediatric experience and I have corrected the staff here multiple times. It's just ridiculous. What about parents without medical experience?! What kind of info are they getting?! And their after hours answering service?? FORGET IT. The docs says if you're worried take them to the ER, if not bring him in in the morning. Obviously I'm calling you because I'm worried, and I need to know what to do. Sorry to interrupt your on-call night, which you're getting paid $175,000 a year to do. I'm just done with this place. They have like 15 providers but to get your child in there is 2 months waiting time. These people just want your insurance money and don't give a shit about you or the kids. LIARS AND CHEATS! I had my 2 daughters there to have a sports physical complete. for some reason without my knowledge or request and without the knowledge or request of my 16 yr old (now 17), a drug test was ordered. I now have a bill for almost $300 from the lab. I have been calling for over 4 months with no return call from the office manager. I did speak with someone and she told me the manager state I had no rights in regarding what tests are ordered because of my daughters age. this is simply not true. I cannot get them to call me back anymore. now the billing dept has sent me to collections. read more

We are new to town from out of state and our child's school recommended river town pediatrics for sport physical and Immunation record transfer. when I called they were very rude and would not let me make an appointment for my four children because one of my children has no health insurante at this time. I was planning on paying cash for this child same day. I will never go there because of how rude they were with me on the phone and how unhelpful with our situation. read more

We tried another pediatrician before Rivertown. I was unhappy there but found a place I love at Rivertown. Most of the nurses are sweet, knowledgeable and willing to help in any way possible.
