I had been with Verizon for 4 years. Sprint had a free phone offer so I switched. I canceled before the next Verizon due date. They charged me for the full plan even though I had no active phones with them. I spoke to a manager and told him I am disputing the bill and please send me the billing so we can discuss it. I received the bill showing I was being charged when my phones were not active. I received a collection call the day after getting the bill. As soon as he sent me the bill he turned me over to collections. After waiting on hold for an hour Verizon said they could not negotiate the bill because it was turned over to collections. Do not do business with Verizon! Verizon has no customer service, makes you wait for an hour to speak to the correct person, will do everything in their power to steal every dime they can from you. I am a big fan of the iPhones, and have been for a long time. They do not have the best battery life, but they work really smoothly and well. Good apps. In fact, when my iPhone 5 had problems making calls with the sim card switched out multiple times, they were nice enough out of a courtesy to send me a new iPhone 5 for no charge. However, apparently about 1/4th of the new iPhone 5S devices out of the box show the wireless icon as if they WERE connected to a wi-fi, but they ARE NOT CONNECTED TO WI-FI. As a result, the new iPhone 5S used 5 GB of data in a single day when restoring from an iCloud backup (not kidding). We thought it was on Wi-Fi all day, but must have been using celluar data. It seems that a clearing of network settings made this better, but I am still suspicious. The Verizon folks at the store were not helpful in assisting the user to backup from iCloud. Hope you get this crappy problem resolved right away and train your employees better. read more

This is the email I sent to the Group President for the Consumer Division after a terrible visit to the Verizon Store on Kipling today. Kenneth, As a longtime customer (over 20 years) and busy fellow executive, it is extremely frustrating to spend several hours of billable time trying to solve a simple issue. I purchased a screen cover for my son's phone (along with a few new phones and other accessories). It cracked. I went to the Verizon store as I had been told. They explained they were not a Verizon store but a reseller. We called the Verizon store nearest me from the Reseller's store. They confirmed that I should come to them to get my screen replaced. When I went in this evening, they explained that it was another company's product (ZAGG) and I would have to register, file a warranty, receive the product at my house, return to the store to have it installed. This is unacceptable and reminds me to get my service from Verizon and my products from the manufacturer. At my executive consulting rate, you cost me over $1,000 of time. Unacceptable. Had I purchased from ZAGG directly, my son would already have his replacement. If you represent a product, then service the product. As a final thought, I recall when I purchased the phone from that same Verizon store last December, that your associate told me I should buy the screen protector from him as it was the same warranty as ZAGG and all I would need to do is come in and they would replace it. Went in to upgrade my phone to the new iPhone 6S. Phil, the manager, checked me in with a pleasant smile and friendly manners. The wait for assistance was a little long. There were many customers ahead of me, though, so I understand. Justin helped me with my upgrade. He was thorough about checking through my family's Verizon account, comparing prices for our plan, and explaining the different buying options for the iPhone. This store is the worst. Went in to get a new phone for my mom. First they couldn't find our appointment. I had a screenshot, and a half hour later they were able to get us in. The guy helping us was the rudest most unhelpful person I have ever dealt with. Basically refused to talk to us about different models and prices. Finally we just left. I was told by this store that they would not sell me a phone without a physical copy of my social security card. I do not have one and am not going to get one for a requirement that I firmly believe is ridiculous. I even went in with a passport and a drivers license which was not good enough for them. Worse the employee 'helping' me treated me like less than a human being and with zero respect when I questioned this policy. He repeatedly said 'that means nothing to me' when confronted with the absurdity of the policy. I even asked if they would let me pay the entire 2 year contract up front and they flat refused. I can buy a house and a car without a physical social security card. In what universe does Verizon think this is really necessary for a credit check? Terrible store, terrible employees, terrible policy, and I waited 30 minutes to be refused service. Fantastic. Update: I wanted to update this review based on what I know now. The problem was that because my name was not an exact match with my SSN my credit check could not be run. In this situation the default Verizon policy is to ask for a social security card. However, their credit department doesn't actually need one. They just need something with your name and SSN on it to verify the information. It turns out that a copy of your W-2 is just fine as proof. I'm not sure what other documents they might accept but regardless you don't need a social security card. If a Verizon employee tries to tell you this it is wrong. I was ultimately helped by the executive customer service team (yes, that's actually a thing) which contacted me after emailing some of the customer service executives. They worked through this with me instead of treating me like they didn't want me as a customer. This in no way changes my rating of the store. They are still awful but it might help someone get a cell phone one day. read more

Went in to switch back to VZW after going to another carrier for a few months. Bought a new iPhone XS. Sales associate asked if I had anyone I would want to add to my account since they have a promo of buy one get one free. In this case it would be a $700 credit if I didn't want the iPhone 8 I said I wasn't sure. He told me I have 14 days to come back in and do that. I went in tonight 12 days later and was told the offer expired and they couldn't honor what I was told. As the sales associate helping me tonight was telling me this I looked down and in a plastic sign holder in front of the iPhone XS Max and iPhone XS is a sign that mentions the buy one get one or $700.00 credit towards another phone. I point that out to him. He quickly grabbed both signs and took them out back. He came back without them and said that deal expired. I asked to speak to the manager. Chris came over and held his ground. Never apologized. He said the signs had an expiration date. I asked to see the signs again and he said he "may have shredded them" (within 1 minutes time). I asked him to go check to see if he shredded them. He returned and said the expiration date is TBD. I asked him to honor the posted sale sign they quickly removed and he refused. How do you not know if you shredded something or not. What business out there won't honor a posted sale or posted price? Verizon Wireless in Arvada that's who. I regret switching back to VZW horrible customer service. Chris, before you misinform customers that if they return their new phone that they don't get credit for the trade in, you should know you are misinformed. VZW will refund the amount of the trade in. This is the worst store I've ever been in. When you walk in, you'll be immediately greeted by a very friendly representative who will take your name onto a clipboard, then just sit there and stare at you while you wait 45 minutes for your turn to get 'help' from someone else in the store. They don't have anyone working a register, so if you're just looking to, say, buy a new battery you still get the pleasure of waiting for 45 minutes while watching the sales reps fumble through trying to set up phone accounts with people. I needed to switch from ATT to Verizon because they had the best coverage in the area I was moving to. The sales rep I got, Mark Reyes was good and i got the plan I was looking for at a price competitive with ATT. I would give him four stars and the store two stars for an average of three stars. When I was at the store, weekday mid-morning, few customers were there. As I waited for a sales rep the store became packed. I noticed that there were a few employees that seemed to be just wandering. Maybe they had a function that was unclear to me but it was still annoying. If I ever need to go back in I'll try to make an appointment like ATT does. Also for any iphone owners, the Applecare protection plan is less expensive than the Verizon protection plan. read more

I ordered an iPhone 7 from Verizon which got here today but was not the plus which is what I ordered. I called customer service and the fastest way to get my phone would be to exchange it directly at a store. She said this store had 2 and I called them immediately. A female answered and when I asked to verify they had 2, she said there were 14 customers standing in the store so they could be gone. 22 min later I had my husband call the store and tell them to pick up the call on the other line waiting for the past 22 min. He said I was holding for the iPhone 7 plus and Brandon said, without checking, they have no more. Didn't even ask color or HD size. Going into a phone store is not something I enjoy doing. I think another poster compared it to the DMV. It's not that I want to go to one, it's that I have to. However, I've never had an issue with this one. I did have an issue with Verizon a few years ago, but it had nothing to do with this store. The people I've spoken to there have been professional, and yes have tried to sell me things, but that's kind of their job. I'm sure there are some that overdo it, or try to recommend a more expensive fix, but in my experience this has not happened at this store. A few months ago, the guy actually ended up saving me about $20 a month and found me a better deal. Earlier this week I went in to discuss adding my fiance to my account and they explained a few options that were available depending on a few things. Asked a few questions about them to make sure I understood and told them I would be back later this week, which I plan to do. I will make it over to this one whenever I can. It's one of those types of businesses like finding a good, trustworthy mechanic. Once you find one you like you tend to keep going back so you don't get screwed somewhere else. read more

I came in 7 minutes after the store opened and there was already a line to check in. Not a problem. I was told there was 6 people in front of me but were not able to provide a timeframe as to when I would be seen. I provided a high level overview of the issue with my phone and they indicated that they thought simple diagnostics on the phone would correct the issue. 1 hour and 30 minutes later, I was still waiting. I noticed as I came back in to see why they hadn't texted or called, that they had supported another person who had checked in after me already...which was frustrating to say the least. When I was finally helped 15 minutes later, the technician told me the phone had all necessary updates and thought the issue with the phone was a warranty issue and to go to the Apple store or through my company. In essence, I wasted 1 hour and 45 minutes of my time waiting for them to take a 1 minute and 30 second cursory look at my phone. This could have and should have been triaged at the beginning so this much time wasn't wasted. In summary, I am not pleased with the amount of time I spent waiting to hear that my issue wasn't something they could fix in-house nor their lack of a triage system. read more

Came into get an iPad with my mother for my grandfather. Jamel who helped(I use this term loosely) was very condescending and kept stating the same concept the same way over and over to my mother who by her own words isn't "tech savy". I have worked in a help desk/service position and when the customer doesn't understand what you are saying you must attempt to explain it in a different manner. Jamel did not even attempt to do this. Instead he got louder and more frustrated... Overall this is just another one star review for a location that has become wide known for a place to be insulted when you hand them money. read more

Visited the store at 55th and Kipling. We were greeted by a young lady who quickly said Sarah would be happy to help us. We wanted to look at the Samsung Note 8 phone, she pointed to the back of the store and said they are back there. We walked to the phones, however Sarah was busy leaning on the front counter with her cell phone. Not once did Sarah, or anyone for that matter ask if we needed help or had any questions. We waited at least 15 minutes and finally left. I called the store and spoke to the manager, unfortunately I didn't get her name ( we visited 2/7/18 at 4:30 ish) I told her about our experience and all she said was "huh that is surprising." It's obvious the manager wasn't concerned about customer service, so I guess I shouldn't be shocked that this is not the expectation for Sarah. We will not visit this store again, even though it is the most convenient. I think Verizon is the best carrier, however the customer service is the worst. I came into the store because my galaxy suddenly stopped making and receiving calls. After an excessively long wait, Mark looked at the phone and said it wasn't working because it had a crack. It's been cracked for a year! He immediately tried to sell me a new phone instead of trying to help me with my problem. He was attempting to convince me to upgrade to another phone for $200. I left the store and called Verizon customer service. They were able to assist me right away. The guy on the phone told me to turn it off take out my sim card and turn it back on. The manager or perhaps assistant manager was about as rude and condescending as any person in retail sales that I have ever met. He wore a name tag that said Davis and was completely NOT interested in providing service or keeping me as a Verizon customer. Easiest, fastest service, TJ was able to get me on a better plan with more data, a new phone and tons of goodies for a very reasonable price! I came in with the intention of taking my business to AT&T, but TJ convinced me to not only stay with Verizon but to get a new phone, Speakers and other goodies for way less than I would've paid there. I'll keep coming to Verizon as long as you keep employing people like TJ. read more

This Verizon store is a HUGE joke. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE! They don't know what they are doing! I went in to this store to switch from my current cell phone provider to Verizon. The lady that was helping me was completely clueless about everything, because every time I would ask her something she would ask the manager. She has a very heavy accent, so you will know who I am talking about. So after I set up the plan they were supposed to turn off my service with T-Mobile, but they could not do it at the store because "the computer system was down" and she had to call in the request. The manager said it would take approximately 24 hours for my phone with T-Mobile to terminate. After 3 days I noticed that my cell with T-Mobile was still working and when I called Verizon, they said that the switch was never made. So for 4 days I had to pay 2 services with Verizon and T-Mobile thanks to the idiots at this store. After 1 week straight of discussing this with Verizon corporate, they finally got everything fixed, but it was been nothing but a nightmare with these people. Save your time and go to a different Verizon store, one that knows what they are doing, these people especially the manager and some of the staff are completely incompetent. read more
