I came in with a brand new phone purchased elsewhere trying to get my service added & they tried to sell me a new phone! They said I get a $1000 credit for a new phone and Verizon will pay for it. I asked if it has a 3 year contract and they said no.. no contract.. but then when asking them questions, they said Verizon pays for the phone for 3 years and if you leave early you pay for the rest of the phone.. the verbiage used the entire appointment was very deceptive if you're not phone literate. DO NOT GO TO THIS VERIZON!! My "specialist" was absolutely no help. I came into the store after 3 plus hours of being on the phone the day before. Figured going into the store would be easier. I was wrong. My helper was extremely rude and ignorant. He rolled his eyes the entire time while I was explaining the issue and quote - well, what do you want me to do? Maybe do your job? He found no answers or resources to get to the issue. I left after ten minutes of him just staring at me telling me well this is what it is. Ironically, I came in to fix a loyalty discount after being with Verizon for 15 years and I left the store wanting to cancel my account for the terrible, horrible service I've received. First time was told there was a wait and when asked if I could return later in the day they said there were no appointments available. Went back in after work for assistance and was told that although I made it to the store with more than enough time prior to closing, they can not help me due to them being closed and told me to call customer service even though I do not have a working phone. Long story, short. After purchasing a phone (for my MIL), the sales lady talked her into the $35 glass screen protector and stated it something happened to the screen, just bring it into the store. Fast forward almost 2 years, the screen protector is cracked and my MIL was told a whole new story! You have to register the product and then go through them ($6 s/h is another hidden feature) - I specifically asked about this and was assured we could bring it back to the store if there was a problem. Now all they offer is apologies - that don't do a damn thing. The manager, Bianca, could not even credit my account $6 (s/h on new protector) to take care of a customer. That's some shitty customer service. Moral of the story - don't buy accessories from here. The sales people will promise you that if there is a problem they can help in the store - they can't. Tyler was amazing!!! My mom made an appointment to get a new phone, unfortunately we got the time wrong, but it was no problem. They put us on the list and encouraged us to wait in our car. Within 20 minutes we were inside and Tyler was patiently explaining all the models of phones to my mom. He was informative and calm as she went back and forth between the models. He knows what he is doing, well trained and has a great attitude. The COVID safety protocol was top notch. I've been using a dumbphone for years (LG Cosmos with a QWERTY keyboard), but it's been increasingly inconvenient not to have a smartphone. My sister got a new iPhone, so she gave me her old 4s. I went to this Verizon store to have my account put on the phone and to have my contacts transferred to it. I walked in the store, said what I wanted, and someone took care of me right away. (I forgot the young man's name.) When I went to use it, though, I found that all of my sister's stuff was still on it, and my contacts were added in with hers. So, I went back the next day to have them take care of it. Turned out that I needed her Apple password, which I didn't know, so I left. Today, armed with the password, I went back to the store. Marquida not only remembered my situation, she even remembered my name! She was able to wipe out all of my sister's information in less than 5 minutes. She then walked the phone and me over to the counter, explained the situation to another young woman (Aisha, I believe), who took both phones and transferred my contacts into it again. She showed them to me and made sure they were mine. When I commented that they were, but that the last names were first, she was able to do something to alphabetize them by first name instead. I was in the store for less than 15 minutes, got everything I needed done and by pleasant, knowledgeable people to boot. I would definitely go back to this location. read more

I came into the store yesterday because I decided I could wait no longer on getting the iPhone 11 Pro Max. It was kind of busy but didn't have to wait long for a salesperson to help. The salesperson was very helpful and answered all my questions. While I was waiting there were older gentlemen with his daughter I assume they were talking to the manager. I wish I knew the manager's name but didn't get it. He was cool and calm the customer was just being ridiculous he was pissed about how his 3G phone was not going to work anymore. My guy was so pleased with the knowledge and great customer service at the Verizon Royal Oak retail store that he recommended I purchase my iPhone from them. I went there and experienced excellence. Solution manager, Kevin Murphy's experience, cell phone knowledge and great attitude made that new iPhone purchase a pleasure. Kevin transferred data from my old phone to the new one. He helped me make the right choices about protection of the device for my purposes. He did this at the very end of the day with an unfailingly patient, upbeat and reassuring attitude. I went here after deciding I finally needed a smart phone. I'm not on the Apple bandwagon, so I wasn't sold on any particular one. The guy who helped me out asked some key questions, like, "Will you actually be talking on it? Because you need to make sure it works for you as a real phone (thus eliminating the Samsung Galaxy S3) and do you need to text on it one handed (reaffirming my above elimination). He helped me choose one that suites my needs for home & work. My only complaint is that they push the accessories on you. Like a car accessory kit (my car has a USB jack, so I can already charge it) and an additional battery. I did get sucked into the battery but after not needing it in 11 days, I chose to return it. All in all, the staff was helpful and actually convinced me to purchase a less expensive phone than my original intent. Kudos for helping me save money! read more

He did not know how to transfer my contacts so he wrote down the customer service number on a sticky note and told me to do it at home. At home??? FRAUD! FRAUD! FRAUD! Please read before shopping here!!! I spent 2 hours, Monday 3/7, to move a 4 person plan to a 6 person plan by adding two additional lines in hopes to save $5 a line. I was told we should DEFINITELY switch to a business plan, and it would only require renewing our LLC/providing a few simple pieces of information. They said I would have to come back and schedule a follow-up appointment for today (3/8) at 2pm. *Store is 30 minutes away from my house* My main concerns with switching from our current plan to a business plan were if the current phone purchase plans WITH promos would transfer and inquiring about promotions for the two added lines. I was told that any plans and promos WOULD transfer, but any new advertised promos on the consumer plan may not be offered once they transfer since business plans offer different advertised promos. They told me they looked and nothing seemed enticing so it shouldn't really matter. (THIS IS WRONG!) Secondly, the 2 lines being added consisted of 1 new line and 1 line transferring from ATT. The staff recommended on 3/7 that the best promotion available to me was a BOGO iPhone 13 Pro. I asked if this was available for any of the business plans including the lower level plan at $30 per month and they told me "absolutely!" (AGAIN, THIS IS WRONG!) They said business plans have better promotions and I should definitely go that route. Evening of 3/7, I scramble to renew the LLC, get all the information together they requested, and bring in two old phones just in case we could get extra incentives for trade in. Show up 3/8 for appt at 2pm. 1 rep on site and 1 checking in people. Was not helped until 30 minutes past appointment time. People are consistently leaving and complaining about bad service or long wait times. I am told business plan rep isn't here, however they can take care of me. Person checking people in comes over and says she'll start setting up my business account. She disappears in the back and comes out with questions. The other rep finally sits down at the table and starts looking over my plan. At that point I am told that the BOGO iPhone 13 Pro is only for more expensive plans. I verify online, see that this is true on Verizon's website. I bite my tongue and say maybe they made a mistake. I luckily brought in two old phones just in case for trade-ins since I saw a lot of carriers offer incentives for this. I say OK, I have two phones I could possibly trade in, will this give us anything? The rep looks at them and says at first that these are "only worth $10, but let me confirm." Comes back finding that its actually a "$200 per phone incentive." Says we can use them. Disappears to help others, just leaving us there. Girl from back then comes out saying she may not be able to do the business account and I need to call the primary account holder to get more information. Finally get that straightened out and rep comes back. This goes on for awhile being strung along. Finally, we get the phones, AND a decent amount of accessories with only $400 off for trade-in. Get ATT number transferred over and FINALLY after 4 hours (2pm - 6pm) we leave the store with a piece of paper that says call 888 ******* to move remaining 4 numbers over from consumer account to business account. Primary account holder calls to move over numbers... IMMEDIATELY is told they will lose all promotional credits/incentives on the plan to date and is asked if they still wish to do so. RED FLAG. I call back and am told the same thing. I am told there is nothing they can do. I complain and they pass me on to a different department. I call customer care and finally talk to someone explaining the situation. They go... "you know you could have just added two lines to the current consumer account and also get some really good promotions on those 2 added lines! You will also drop your bill to $30 dollars a line!" ...I am speechless. She goes on to say I don't understand why you even need the business account. She says "I am very very sorry, but there is not much I can do NOW. You can't get the ATT transfer credit or new customer promotions and if you choose to cancel the plan you can't get your two phones back you sent in through Fedex" (already dropped off). She says "the store doesn't know what they are talking about." I now have an 11AM callback scheduled tomorrow and will be returning to the store to speak with the manager. I feel COMPLETELY TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF and have made a complete mess out of someone else's plan, wasted 8 hours of my time as well as the primary account holders time, the cost of an LLC renewal, and two phones I'll never get back if I cancel. For the amount of money and time I've wasted over the past two days, I should never have switched to Verizon or come to this store! read more

Update: service is still bad Recently switched from sprint to Verizon.... about a month and a half ago. Expecting my phone to work great. For the past month and a half my iPhone X hasn't worked properly. As far as, internet. Safari. Facebook. Instagram. Google maps. Apple maps. Everything involving the web is beyond slow. Sometimes will not load at all. Now i went into the apple store 4 times, since i have apple care on the 4th time they finally replaced my phone (hoping and praying that was the issue).... guess what? It wasn't. My phone still "works" the exact same. I went into Verizon today to switch my SIM card hoping that would help... guess what? Didn't do a thing. As of right now my issues are being investigated which may take up to a week. I mean at this point time is nothing. I work from my phone and it hasn't worked for over a month so what's another week. However, something is wrong and Verizon needs to figure out what it is. I'm a paying customer who is very very unhappy. Sadly this is another Verizon location that wrongfully tries to up-charge and play a guessing game at what is wrong with your phone. I have a Galaxy S6 and I went through 4 different solutions for 4 different visits (sim card, bios restore, factory reset, finally a new phone) to fix my voice fading issue when I was on a phone call. I work with technology (computers and phones) and I initially asked for a new phone to start and they insisted that they wouldn't do it. I have full insurance so a new phone would have been fine for me. When I was in discussion about getting a replacement, they kept trying to trap me into getting the S7 and pay more, which I said many times that I didn't want to do. They get to you decently quick, but still, what you have to suffer through to get a problem solved is rough. When I upgraded my plan with my parents, I had a whole mess of up-charges as well (phone case, headphones, a more expensive phone/plan). Came in to this location in September to upgrade my iPhone 6 to the 7. Philip Watson told me I'd be paying $20 less per month than what my bill actually is. I was supposed to receive a $600 credit for my iPhone 6 turn in. I was told an envelope would be mailed to my home, & it wasn't. I called Verizon corporate and they sent one out to me. Packaged my phone up, & sent it in a few days later, I'm all set, or so I thought. I get my first bill, and it's $100 more than I was supposed to pay. I call corporate again, & I'm told not to worry as soon as my trade in is processed I'd be credited back. I wait another month and decide to call corporate again. It turns out that my phone was mailed in as determined a donation because they sent me the wrong envelope Next I'm told that the store should have processed my turn in for me to avoid these types of issues. She also said that there was no way my bill would be as low as the Philip Watson said. So after speaking to what seems to finally be an employee who cares, and ensures that she will call us back in a week, that things would get taken care of. She gave us her contact information in case we didn't hear from her. A week past the time she was supposed to call us, no word. Several attempts to reach her with no luck. Voicemail box is full, which is not a good sign. So here we go again, re-explaining it in the phone to someone else. One of the best experiences I've had in a Verizon store. I had a lot of questions and they were so patient and answered them all. They reviewed my plan and helped me find a better plan for my family. They were very kind and helpful. Pleasant to deal with and knew what they were talking about. Would definitely come back next time I need assistance.
