When I had my cable installed by my cable company they hooked up my wall mounted 50 inch flat…read morescreen and ran the wires up to the TV that just hung there. I asked the installer if he could hide the wires so that it would not look so bad. He told me it would cost extra. The cable installer also ran all my cable wires to my rooms on the outside of my home. I have a brick home so I was not happy about that. But I wanted them ran inside so it didn't make the outside of my house look like an eye sore. The installer said that he couldn't do it. That it is only a basic install. If I wanted him to run cables through the walls it would be an additional charge. He also told me that it would not guarantee that he could complete the job of running the cables through the walls if there was a problem. So the installer walked me through the home and explained what seemed like I nightmare installation job and that it would not be worth the effort, time, or cost. In the end I would be stuck with the bill and possibly still the same problem if the cables couldn't be ran to all the rooms through the walls. Then I was mentioning my issue I was having with he cable company to my friend. He mentioned that I should look for a separate company that runs audio and video cables. All I can say is I was so happy I listened to my friend. I did my research finding a company that was local and could come soon to give me an estimate on running the cables. Chris the owner came to my home and right away he understood what I was going through and explained that he has had many customers he has helped with the same problem as I did. He walked me through the whole process of what he was going to do....and that it was not a big problem. Complete different story from what my cable company installer said. Chris went a complete different route then the cable installer said and had my cables ran the way I wanted in no time. He came out a few days later and it was done. My cable to my TV was easily hidden behind the wall. Problem solved. A few months later I decided I wanted surround sound home theater system for my living room . I called Chris right away because I wanted my wires hidden and not exposed. This was not a problem for Chris. He came out and had it done in an afternoon. In the end I was glad I hired Castle AVI. Cable companies in my opinion take the easy route. If you want things done right and he way you want call Castle AVI. You won't be disappointed.

Almas Hi-Fi Stereo did the complicated installation of a 7.1 surround sound system in my home…read moreseveral years ago. I selected the equipment and paid for it a piece at a time until the system was completed, taking each component home as I paid for it. A couple days before the scheduled installation, Paul (the owner) offered to come out to my house and give it a look-over to prepare his installers for the job. After pacing off the room, taking measurements and the like, he told me that most of the speakers I selected wouldn't work well in the space because of the unusual layout and construction of the room (it has three glass doorwalls and some very small spaces where the speakers would have to be mounted. I didn't considerer this when I was choosing the equipment). He then suggested alternative models from the same manufacturer that had different cabinets and would work better in the room and be easier to install. The cost difference was negligible. I decided to take his advice. A couple days later the installers (employees, not contractors) came to my house and spent a good eight hours crawling around in my basement and attic working on the installation. Their work was flawless. The guys who showed up to install the cable the next day were dunderheads, though, and my system wasn't working properly when they left. I couldn't figure out why. That night, Paul called me and asked me how I like the system. I told him that it was great, except for the problem caused by the guys who installed the cable. Paul offered to come out to my house the next evening and see if he could fix the problem; I told him I'd be there at the appointed time. Paul showed up right when he said he would and started to poke around. It took him less than a minute to figure out what the cable guys had screwed up and only another minute to fix the problem. He then put the system through its paces to make sure it was working correctly, giving me some rudimentary instruction on how it all worked. He shook my hand, thanked me for my business and left. No charge. I know I could have gotten a cheaper system if I'd gone to a big-box store, but I thought a small business operated by the man who owned it would give me better service than a place like, say, Best Buy. I was right. If I ever have to do it again (and I am still living around here), I'm going right back to Almas.
