I selected the equipment and paid for it a piece at a time until the system was completed, taking each component home as I paid for it. A couple days before the scheduled installation, Paul (the owner) offered to come out to my house and give it a look-over to prepare his installers for the job. After pacing off the room, taking measurements and the like, he told me that most of the speakers I selected wouldn't work well in the space because of the unusual layout and construction of the room (it has three glass doorwalls and some very small spaces where the speakers would have to be mounted. I didn't considerer this when I was choosing the equipment). He then suggested alternative models from the same manufacturer that had different cabinets and would work better in the room and be easier to install. The cost difference was negligible. I decided to take his advice. A couple days later the installers (employees, not contractors) came to my house and spent a good eight hours crawling around in my basement and attic working on the installation. Their work was flawless. The guys who showed up to install the cable the next day were dunderheads, though, and my system wasn't working properly when they left. I couldn't figure out why. That night, Paul called me and asked me how I like the system. I told him that it was great, except for the problem caused by the guys who installed the cable. Paul offered to come out to my house the next evening and see if he could fix the problem; I told him I'd be there at the appointed time. Paul showed up right when he said he would and started to poke around. It took him less than a minute to figure out what the cable guys had screwed up and only another minute to fix the problem. He then put the system through its paces to make sure it was working correctly, giving me some rudimentary instruction on how it all worked. He shook my hand, thanked me for my business and left. No charge. I know I could have gotten a cheaper system if I'd gone to a big-box store, but I thought a small business operated by the man who owned it would give me better service than a place like, say, Best Buy. I was right. If I ever have to do it again (and I am still living around here), I'm going right back to Almas.

Took my 6 year old Samsung in to get repaired as a large part of the screen was not lit anymore…read more I was quoted a price when I dropped it off. The next day i got a call that there was an issue, the screen cracked while they were repairing it. As a resolution to the issue they replaced it with another Samsung TV of the same size that they had that was newer and had more features. That's integrity. I'll definitely return here with any other repairs that I may need in the future.

I have an 2013 iMac that was running slower and slower. I wasn't thrilled about buying a new one…read moreas they've downsized the hard drive capacity without a significant increase in price. I decided to upgrade by original hard drive to a solid state drive and took it to GP Geek in The Village. They are right next to CVS on the parking lot side. The iMac models from 2013 onward have their screens glued on so they needed to order the adhesive kit and that took a few days. We were out of town so it worked out perfectly. They replaced my old drive with the new SSD and migrated everything from the old drive. The price was very reasonable and everything is working great. The system now is ready to go in about ten seconds from pressing the power button. This was taking several minutes before. Anything I open is now nearly instantaneous. It basically turned an eight year old machine into a brand new one! I'd definitely recommend Grosse Pointe Geek for any computer work.

I have a 2015 Pioneer Elite receiver that since new would intermittently lose the display. It…read moresimply would go out, all black face. It would be on for months at a time, and go out for months at a time. I took it in under warranty, the display was working when they got it, so they sent it right back. Tried again around 2019 with a Pioneer service center in Lansing, had the same result. Asked them to hold on to it, turned on, to see if the display would go out. It didn't, they told me to come and get it. Cost me $175 for basically nothing. Now, the display had not worked since last Christmas. I decided to take one last chance on repairing it by taking it to Craig's. I liked mostly what I read in the reviews, even though they were NOT close by. I dropped it off on a Saturday, explained the problem, they plugged it in and saw the problem also. By Tuesday they called me back after doing a diagnostic on it and explained the problem. They told me what parts they would need, how much it would cost, and if I agreed, that it would be ready in a week. I agreed to their price, thought it was reasonable and in line with what I was willing to pay, and it was indeed ready within a week. They showed me that the display now worked, and for the first time in eleven years, my receiver is now fully functional. It is a very good receiver, have no qualms about it. Everything else on it works fine. So I am pleased as punch to have it back. I recommend Craig's. Treated me well, did everything they promised at what I thought was a reasonable price. I would go back. (Even though they are 50 miles away from me.)
