I think I am entirely too old for technology stores. I get extremely bugged by what has become "commonplace" in them. I don't like having to give all of my information to somebody who types it in to a tablet and then tells me someone else will help me. I also don't like that the customer to employee ratio at this store always seems about 10 to 1, no matter time of year. My least favorite thing is that I cannot shop this store alone. There are so many hidden charges, different prices, etc., that you really don't know what anything costs without the help of a clerk. I like to go to stores and really don't like buying everything over the internet. Places like this are starting to change my opinion of that. This has been a month long nightmare of just trying to get my phone to make outgoing calls. I bought the newest iPhone 17 and upgraded to the most expensive plan because my old phone was not allowing me to make or receive calls. It didn't help at all. It just says call failed. Sometimes I can get on a call for a few minutes but it cuts out until it finally fails. Wally wouldn't help me since I am authorized user on the plan under my nickname and not the name on my license. Then he said he can do nothing to help me. He called over a friend and they talked about it for awhile and then he started asking me "what's even wrong with the phone? Why are you here?" This is a very forced 1 star after the things this company did such as charging me my phone bill many times " around 6 times a month " They do charge hidden fees,and taxes per a phone line. plus just for leaving them they charged me even more money. I was dealing with someone named "Day" at a store in Ogden, Utah, and he was totally clueless and combative. The dishonesty and lack of customer service skills this person displayed gave me reason to look into other carriers, which I did. I ended up switching from Verizon after being a customer for 10 years. The new provider has comparable coverage and they are less expensive! Now I'm going to ditch Verizon altogether- I'm switching our business accounts to the new carrier as well. Verizon is so overrated! Thanks for the horrible service, Day. Last night me and my fiancé went to this Verizon store to get new phones (it was definitely time for an upgrade) the lady that was helping up (Bridgette I believe) was extremely rude and seemed annoyed with us because we came in half hour before closing time. When we told her that we both wanted new phone and we were going to pay in full she just looked irritated and told us "well.. we close in 10 minutes so I suggest you guys buy them online and come pick them up at the store" EXCUSE ME WHAT??????? Even if I come in 2 minutes before closing I expect you for finish the service before you close down. Never again will I go to this store. So we loaded both of our kids in the truck, I looked at the time and they still had 15 minutes before closing. Yay! I'm a fan! That is the exact way I feel about this Verizon store. This is an actual Verizon Corporate store...none of that silly authorized dealer stuff here. Being a Verizon customer it is nice to go into an actual store when I had issues with any of my phones or service...and going in to a corporate store is basically as good as waiting on the phone for customer service so I often found myself inside this store. I did not ever end up buying much here...I hate the fact that they make you do a mail in rebate in store when Best Buy or Walmart down the street have no rebates to worry about. Its like Verizon wants you to pay them 100 bucks more for a phone and then hold that 100 bucks for 6 or 8 weeks and then send you a prepaid card with that 100 bucks and no interest for those 8 weeks. Funny the things that bug you about a store. I realize it is like this industry wide at mobile phone corporate stores so I guess it is impossible to avoid. The people who worked here were always very friendly and were even willing to help me with my Verizon phones that were not purchased at a Verizon store. (Places like Best Buy or Walmart) This is a VERY busy store...it is right on Riverdale Road and there were times that the wait to talk to someone was like 20 minutes. It is on the smaller side of the Verizon stores and with its location there were always people there. One time we got there 5 minutes before closing and the employees stayed 30 minutes past close to make sure everyone was helped. It is one of the only corporate Verizon stores in the area so I guess I can understand why it would be so busy. My tip for anyone buying here just remember that you can exchange or return your purchase within 30 days...but at a location like this you can only exchange it once so if you do make it count. :0) read more

My husband and I just went there today May 10, and the guy that went up to us is an arrogant jerk. He has gray in his beard. We were going to purchase two phones. Went over to look at the Google pixel, and the music was up so loud we asked if he could turn it down and he said that he can't it's company policy he was a dumb jerk. So we left. I am so furious... I would give this place no stars if I could!! I've been here 4 times and each time has been a terrible experience. I cannot believe how INCOMPETENT the employees are and how shitty their service is. First time I went in here, I was looking to upgrade my phone and was interested in the new Galaxy S4. The workers act like they're tech-savvies, but it clearly shows that they know nothing about their products, memorize a bunch of marketing ploys, and make the biggest effort to sell you their "bundles" (which are a total rip-off, btw... just go on Amazon to save money). I asked one of the clerks how the Air Gesture and Smart Scroll worked, and he had no idea! He called one of the other guys over and they were both stumped. Then they said "hmm... well let's try and figure this out together!" right in front of me. Umm... shouldn't you be trained in this before you embarrass yourselves in front of your customers?! Second time, I decide on a Droid Mini and there's a 45 minute wait queue. When you go put your name under the wait queue, they ask for your phone number, any details about your account, and why you're at the store. They knew I was there to upgrade my phone, and they knew that I was under my parents' family plan. However!!! They never told me that my parents had to call in and make me an "authorized user" just so that i can upgrade my phone without them physically there. (They're all the way in California) I find this out after waiting the whole 45 min until it was my turn. When they finally helped me, the customer service phone line was about to close in 5 minutes so my parents wouldn't be able to call them in time. The workers should be working out the kinks in the account before you're actually helped so you don't waste more time waiting just to find out this information anyway. Ugh! Third time, finally got my phone after being dubbed "authorized user". Didn't fall for any of their marketing bundles in the process. Fuck you guys. Fourth time, wanted to return the Droid Mini bc it wasn't working out for me. It was no problem, and I actually thought the ladies helping me were awesome and very friendly. The experience was going quite well TBH. They re-activated my old iPhone 4 no problem and said I was good to go. When my boyfriend and I left to another store, I started texting my family and I get a call from my dad saying that my texts were coming from my mom's number, not mine. And my number just went straight to voicemail when called. WHAT THE F*CK!!!!! The ladies were so freaking incompetent that they managed to reactivate my iPhone to my MOM's number instead of mine even though they asked me for my number 3 times during my visit there!!! Seriously?! So we had to drive all the way back to the verizon store, and the ladies put me on the damn 20 min wait queue even though it was CLEARLY THEIR MISTAKE. They should've put me at the top of the line to help me out immediately. TLDR; Don't waste your time here. The workers are all completely stupid and will screw you over. read more

Terrible, terrible, terrible. I have had Verizon Wireless for over 15 years. Same phone number, many many upgrades and this store has been the worst. Upgraded my husbands phone to an iPhone 6 and the customer service representative that helped us in this task neglected to tell me that when a phone is on back order once the phone ships they charge your card. In my past 15 years of service with them they have NEVER done this. They always just roll it over to my next bill. No warning, no text, no email-nothing. Just a 268.00 charge on my debit card with no warning. It would not have been a big deal if they had told me this was going to happen. I agree with low ratings that the Riverdale store employees are so bad as well on the phone. I was fortunate to find Jesse in the Newgate Mall, he was extremely helpful and assisted me with understanding my android phone. Jesse was so polite to me, he even helped me with pairing my phone with my SUV which he walked me through step by step solutions. Jesse is a 5 star and more I say the Verizon store in the mall (if your lucky to get Jesse). I would of given another star but, some employees there are not as helpful, one nice looking employee made me feel like I was a burden. Terrible customer service. What should have been a one time visit turned into 3 visits and several long phone calls. We got a new phone that turned out to be defective so we got a new one in the mail but they wanted us to pay for another new screen protector. We had been told to bring the new phone back when we got it so they could put on the new screen protector. We weren't told to save the old screen protector. They said they would have reapplied the same one that was on the defective phone and if it wasn't salvagable they would have given us a courtesy screen protector but for some reason a courtesy protector didn't apply to our case. read more

I have been in three times and each time I have been requesting simple customer service items. He makes it very difficult and wants to express that you are always wrong. Would be ZERO stars.....Customer service is the worst. Went in with a Droid Turbo broken screen. The gal looked it up and said that I would be charged for a new phone because it was longer than one year and out of warranty. I told her and showed her on the Verizon site that the Droid Turbo had a Verizon Plan called Screen Assurance for that phone.....which is one replacement at NO CHARGE. She proceeded to tell me she knew what programs Verizon had and that I was full of S**T. I said call the company, she said forget it, all I need to know is here on my computer screen and the phone is not warranty. Then if you are done? I have other customers to help. Needless to say I was furious, but it was not unexpecrted as most stores customer service is crap...they just want to sell you stuff, not help you.
