I have paperless billing and neglected to monitor the account activity. So, when I called to have the feature removed, I asked how it was added without my permission. The tech said that it was "called in" and added. I told him that was impossible and that I was the only one on the account, the only one who knew the passwords to be able to make changes. I believe that they added it to the account on their own hoping that it would not be noticed.

There is a large selection of ISPs available, but most of them are suspect in my mind. XMission is the only one with a total usage cap. However, even as a heavy user I've not hit it. By having the cap, it's easier to handle people who abuse the bandwidth setting up spam servers or torrent servers. They are also the only one meeting state of the art security standards like SOC2. Back to Utopia. It just works. I have 250Mbs up and down. That allows me to do full backups of my home to the Cloud. I could never do that with the pitiful upload speed the competition has. Plus it's far cheaper.

He gave great advice regarding modems and routers and how to get started. I rented eero devices from UBB for a couple months, then bought my own when there was a good sale. It was no trouble at all to return their equipment - they came and picked it up. The service has been really fantastic. The speeds are more than we need, and I have a few dozen devices between our phones, tablets, laptops, a home computer, and a collection of smart home devices and cameras. I work from home about 80% of the time and I have no complaints!
