That said, I went to Vitec Solutions regarding a issue with my laptop not charging unless I constantly pushed the plug into my computer's charging outlet. I paid the Diagnostic fee of $35. A few days later, they tell me they need to replace the SystemBoard and the A/C Adaptor at ~$280 and ~$30 each with labor at ~$60. Plus tax, everything would have been ~$375 (diagnostic fee subtracted from the total). I said no and took my laptop back. When I took my laptop back, I wasn't able to use my keyboard or touchpad. I had to borrow a friend's wireless mouse in order to navigate to the settings that allowed me to enable my keyboard and touchpad. I check out a locally owned store later and ask them for a quote on the issue. They come back and tell me they can easily fix it and they did for $75 with half of that going into inspecting the problem. No replacement parts or anything and they told me exactly what was wrong. It turned out to be a connection problem that could easily be fixed. Overall, I would've been out $300 if I went with Vitec Solutions and they still caused me quite a bit of a headache.

I looked online and found BA Printer Service, and the owner, Bob, knew right away what the problem was. Hp does automatic updates and when I changed my blue ink, it updated the machine and kicked out my 3rd party ink cartridges that I had in there. All I needed were new hp brand printer cartridges and I'd be ready to go! Best Buy's Geek Squad WERE USELESS! But, Bob knew immediately! I bought new hp brand printer cartridges, and my machine is like new! Also, Bob is the nicest guy you could ever meet. They also went over the repair agreement thoroughly, including the $75 diagnostic fee, which goes toward the cost of any repair. At first, I got a call saying the motherboard was completely damaged and likely beyond repair, which was disappointing. Then the next day, they called back and said they had spent more time looking into it and were actually able to fix it. The repair ended up costing an additional $150, but it was absolutely worth it. My kids' PS5 had stopped accepting discs, and now it's working again. They also advised against relying on random YouTube repair tutorials (oops), since DIY fixes can sometimes make the problem much worse (especially if you're clueless like me). Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back here again, although hopefully I won't need to anytime soon!

Over the course of the week it went from "am I imagining this" to "something's not working properly" & got worse from there. I didn't wanna be without a controller for a couple of months (the amount of time it'd take to ship it back to Scuf, have em fix it & send it back) so I brought it in to WeFix n Customize on Wednesday night to a gentleman named Donte (who seemed great) Kid tells me it sounds like the mouse-click trigger in the bumper has disconnected, but they have to take it apart to be sure & to do that, it costs $100 before any repair is done. He goes on to explain that within a couple of days, BEFORE THEY REPAIR ANYTHING, they'll give me a call, explain to me what they found, tell me how much it'll cost to fix & I can then decide if it's worth that amount to have it fixed. Said if it's just a connection issue, they may not even charge me. Tells me it could be anywhere from another $25 - $75 dollars, & absolute worst case scenario -- if the button is completely broken & they have a new one shipped from Scuf-- another $150 Keep in mind, I bought this controller 2-3 months ago for $220. It's never been dropped & it sits in its case. Spending $250 all-in to repair a single button WOULD NOT have been something I'd be willing to do. I ask if the repair is covered by a warranty, he tells me it is. So I pay the $100 & leave out. I think yall know what's coming... Saturday I get a phone call from Cameron at WeFix n Customize. Says he's my technician & much to my surprise, that I can come pick up my controller... for another $150 ($250 all-in) No phone call to tell me what they found out & see if I WANTED to have it fixed. He just fixed it & it'll be another $150 to be able to pick it up. Tells me he had to fix the R2 button - they (miraculously) "had one in the back" & says he "also had to fix one of the sticks on the back" (???) When I get to the store, I ask him to explain what he meant by "fixing one of the sticks on the back" -- he was talking about the removable paddles... But when I point out the fact they're just REMOVABLE paddles, he says "oh, I know" & insists he "didn't charge me for that anyway" ... I'm then informed that their computer is having issues & as a result, he's not able to ring me for the repair... he has to instead, ring me up as having a "cleaning".... (Suspicious, but whatever.) I ask him if that'll give me any problems if I have to come back for some reason. He tells me no... which reminds me to ask how long that warranty is good for... His response: "there isn't one, but we'd probably give you a discount if you needed it fixed again" .... As if I'd give another dollar to the literal scammers at this absolute chop shop shithole.
