Signed up for the buy one get one free deal at this Verizon location and upgraded my phone and my sons phone because they told me one would be free. See picture of the sign. Unfortunately the phone was not free and I am still paying for both phones. When I called corporate to complain they said the reason was I bought the 2 phones on separate days and that's just not true. I bought them both that same night. Buyer beware!!! Don't believe anything they say. Clearly I am paying for both phones and neither one is free. You can see the screenshots in the attached pictures. They said they would issue a credit and they never did. They told me to wait 2-3 months and that was almost a year ago. A hot mess stay away. I needed a new phone. When I arrived I was greeted and was told to wait then was told nicely that my I would be next in the queue. I waited about a half hour and I noticed nobody was moving and the sales reps were doing nothing to expedite the process. You would think people were closing on a house or purchasing a car. Someone walked in after me and was serviced immediately then the person came out who greeted me came out and scolded the person for not using the queue and he apologized. I ignored it. I figured what the heck let me see how bad this can get. I was chilling out and the conversions I heard were about anything but selling phones. "Tell your father to pay by check and not credit card" and what about the customers who bumped me in the queue due to the incompetent sales rep. He spent the time waiting for customer service on the phone because the people were afraid that their monthly auto deduction bill would go up. I waited another 25 minutes and when I freed up sales rep ignored me and just walked to the back of the office I decided to get the heck out of there. This is every thing that is wrong with America. Lack of trained technicians in "the back", no training, ghosting the customers and lack of focus. I'm sure the regional vp's and managers are so clueless that it doesn't matter what happens in the store. I went home when online then purchased a phone in about 10 minutes. Once again, another disgruntled customer of Verizon. The lies I was told and the amount I must pay each month is very different than the amount written on my invoice. And I paid for the iphone 13! This is just for service and I don't understand. I should have read the reviews before I walked into that store but quite honestly, I never know where to go for a cell phone, service, accessories and I always manage to get ripped off. The rudeness I received at this store and the untruths told were shocking actually. Not all employees were rude but the "greeter" who didn't greet us was really very nasty until she calmed down. When she finally noticed I was there she couldn't help me because she didnt know how and tried to lay the blame on me that a call was coming in and that was why on my account page that a strange person's name appeared on my screen. This Verizon store is not too far away from where I live so when I need to go this is the place. Now in general I try to avoid these places at all costs and do whatever I can online. But sometimes you have no choice but to physically visit a store. It's in a strip mall next to the Dick's Sporting Goods. Plenty of parking. Inside it's a standard issue Verizon store. Usually someone greets you at the door to sign you in and they take customers in the order they came in. Last time I had to track someone down to check me in but usually the process works pretty well. It's normally crowded when I go so I'm prepared to wait my turn. They usually seem to have a fair amount of people working but still expect to wait on weekends. Overall I really have no complaints. Once your turn finally comes around the people seem reasonably competent and if they need help from someone more experienced they'll get it. So basically avoid it if you can accomplish what you need to do online or on the phone but if you must visit a store this one at least isn't torture. read more

I've been here twice and the first time the associate was very patient and answered all my questions thoroughly, so it bums me out to have to write a bad review. But I had an absolutely terrible experience here about a week ago when I upgraded my phone that I hope others can learn from. 1. I had spoken with general Verizon customer service over the phone, and they gave me a $15 discount on my phone upgrade fee. However, the associate I spoke with "couldn't see it" on the account and told me that it was very common that customer service would "credit it back to me later". LIES. I had to call general customer service back and they added the discount to my account, but it should have been done in-store. 2. I traded in my old phone, which was about $70 credit. The sales associate told me that it would be removed in small increments from my monthly phone payment and couldn't be credited in one lump sum. LIES. When I called customer service back, they gave me the credit in a lump sum. 3. WORST OF ALL, when I checked my account online after buying my phone, there was an $11/month "Equipment Protection" charge added to my account. This was NEVER mentioned to me, and I never indicated that I wanted it. I even said several times, "so my monthly payment will be a little over $20?", which she affirmed. My phone itself only has a monthly payment of about $20/month. Why would I want to buy insurance that is half the cost of the phone?! I'd really like to give the benefit of the doubt-- maybe this was a new employee? But the errors were really quite egregious. If you visit here, make sure you check your account online afterwards to make sure they haven't done any shady business with your money. read more

The person assigned to help me and my mother was extremely unhelpful. He said "what do you want?" I explained we were looking to upgrade my mother's phone and he said he'll be honest they have no phones you'd be better off just going online and ordering one online. Didn't ask for her phone number, didn't ask for anything, didn't offer any discounts or anything! I said, so what you're trying to say is we should just go online and order it? Yeah, that's what I'm saying you won't get it until the middle of December beginning of January anyway! This representative was dismissive, and totally uninterested in helping us. I will never, ever go back to this establishment again! And I advise anyone else against going there as well! We ended up going to the Verizon in Branford where we were treated respectfully and the representative was extremely helpful and pleasant and took her time with us and gave us a discount and were able to get our upgraded iPhone in three business days. So much for middle of December,beginning of January. If only he had taken the time. FYI we were there Thursday 11/5/2021 between 1-1:30. Came In with my phone working just needed to upgrade my SIM card and the middle eastern guy helping me kept putting numerous SIM cards in and thought it was fine than upon leaving my phone wouldn't make any calls or texts messages or nothing and went back in and told him and he started yelling at me when I asked for the manager than the manager gave me an attitude. BUYER BEWARE!!! INSURANCE ADDED WITHOUT CONSENT!!! Seems I'm not the only one with this same incident in Yelp reviews at this location. I went to upgrade my phone as it was slowing down and not holding charge as well. GABE introduced himself. I explained I just needed the same basic iPhone, nothing else. He was quick to explain the upgrade and breezed through the disclosures on his tablet. I paid the upgrade charge and left. When I got home I saw the insurance protection had been added without my consent. I called Verizon customer service they confirmed it had been added. There was NO discussion about this in store. So I should have read more carefully and insisted to see his iPad perhaps in more detail - however this practice is illegal... read more

Was told a 25 minute wait and was still waiting after an hour. 3 people were working with one person, one woman was even just standing there watching instead of helping a customer like myself. I loved this place. I bought a cell phone at Verizon while on vacation in NC. They were unable to transfer the data on my old cell phone so I went to Verizon in North Haven when I returned from my trip. I was afraid they would not be really helpful because I bought the phone out of state. I could have not been more wrong. This solutions support guy, Mike, helped me. He was so helpful, patient, tech savvy, had an amazing entertaining personality, and I have to add he was real easy on the eyes. I know it was painful and time consuming working with me because I am old and clueless about cell phones. I was so happy with Mike's customer service. I have been with the VW since 2002 and always considered it to be the best wireless network which combines quality, costumer service, etc. The costumer service through the years has been a very positive experience. I always came to this particular store for technical issues and always was getting a thoughtful and courteous associate who would take time and solve an issue. NOT ANYMORE. My phone couldn't connect to data, lost all the photos and videos and was getting an annoying message popping up every second. I went there on Wednesday, August 29th, at 10 am to get help. Immediately I noticed a different vibe in the room and the associates who simply did not care. I explained, the associate spent couple minutes trying to press some keys, etc., doing it quite rough which had surprised me, and said that I needed a new phone since there is nothing can be done with this one. OK, I thought, if I am told in the official VW wireless store there was nothing to be done to fix the phone, so it be! Next day I got a new phone at BestBuy and activated it at the store. By the way, the associate who did it expressed his dissatisfaction that it had not been done at BestBuy and he had to do it. The same day, I started googling my issue with the old phone and found the solution called Hard Factory Reset. So I did it. THE PHONE WORKED LIKE NEW. ALL THE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS AND EVERYTHING ELSE CAME BACK (SIM CARD). DATA CAME BACK. How in the world it was possible that I've been told there was nothing to be done to fix my old phone? How low can the VW costumer service at the stores fall to even imagine such situation? I must say that after I called the VW I got the best service and understanding I could ask for. They apologized for unprofessionalism of people in the store and suggested I try to return the new phone to BestBuy. So I did having paid a $35 restocking fee which was credited back into my account. BRAVO to the Verozon Wireless phone consumer service and SHAME to the store in North Haven. Been waiting here for over an hour already, they said the wait would be 40 minutes when we showed up. Now they say it will be at least another 20 minutes (though Brian Culpin, the solutions manager for the store was more than happy to explain to me in a very condescending way about how long working on phones takes) they have about as many people working as are in the store. Definitely a poorly run location with no care for the customers. Slow moving apathetic employees with no management to be found. Plus they have no bathroom. If you're gonna make me wait 90 minutes just to talk to someone there should at least be a place to pee. read more

I gave this place the benefit of the doubt after a poor first, and second experience, but third times the charm. I went in, after confirming via phone conversation, that Verizon was able to upgrade my phone with less than a month left on my current plan. When I walked in, I was kindly greeted by the gentleman at the door, and was immediately taken to a sales rep. (the other 2 times I waited for over an hour after being told it was a 20-25 minute wait to be seen) I explained my issue, and told her that the person I had spoken with confirmed the apparent non-existent policy. She told me that I must have misheard, and was somewhat confrontational throughout the whole exchange. I asked to speak with a manager, to which I was told,"she can't help you either." I was somewhat fed up at this point so I asked to speak with the lady whom had answered the phone, no more than an hour before, to which I was told that she was,"off for the rest of the week." Convenient. To me it seemed like a whole lot of effort to not help a loyal customer of close to 10 years. I urge anyone considering going to this store, to drive a little further to Hamden or New Haven. In all fairness to the people at this store, I really think my gripe is with Verizon's policy with the iPhone's that they're selling for a pretty penny. Apparently their motto is, once they've sold you the iPhone, "if we can't fix it, it's not our problem, take it up with Apple". I was at their store yesterday for over three hours with a problem saving my photos off of my first phone (that I had to return due to mechanical problems), on to the replacement phone, and when they sent me away unable to completely fix the problem, the manager told me that the technicians had already helped me much more than they should have (I guess I didn't deserve the customer service??) and to go get help from Apple. Apart from spending over $1500/year on their sevice, my phone's under warranty AND I'm paying a crazy insurance premium with a crazier deductible should I lose the phone. I'd beware buying an iPhone from Verizon-Verizon and Apple seem to not even want to help eachother satisfy the customers. I'm looking into cutting off my Asurion insurance and hooking up with Apple's "Apple Cares" deal instead. I think it'll be cheaper and might get the job done better. read more
