The wait time is ridiculous. With 6 people waiting, one worker walked past us to go to lunch followed by another worker who apparently went to CVS and came back carrying stuff in her arms. A very poorly run operation. I went to return my phone as part of a trade in. I walked in the store and there were approximately twenty customers sitting at tables, waiting in chairs by the windows near the entrance to the store, as well as other people just standing around. There was no obvious place to sign in or any direction as to how to let anyone know you were there. I asked one of the customers how to check in, and I was told there was a woman who checked people in somewhere. I then found a Verizon employee who was helping other customers and they told me that the check in person was in the back and would be right out. Five minutes later that person came out of the back and when I asked if she was the person that does the check ins she said yes "I'll be with you in thirty seconds". Fifteen minutes later after having to follow her around the store I was taken care of. While waiting to be checked in she was telling people that the wait would probably be a least an hour. My experience with Verizon as a customer over the last twenty years (always by phone) has always been excellent. Verizon management needs to fix how their stores are run. I will never go back to a Verizon store. read more

After a 5-star experience at Verizon Cellular Sales in Yorktown Heights, where I purchased a phone, I was asked to go to the Mohegan Lake store to pick up the model and color I wanted. We were welcomed by the staff upon entering the store, but that was the beginning and ending of what should've been a pleasant experience. After what amounted to a snort of disgust, Ashley stated that she didn't have any idea what I was talking about and couldn't help me. I showed her our receipt and instead of pointing us to the correct location a bit further down the road, she referred us back to where we had come from. I told her we were referred to the Mohegan Lake location and in a nasty voice said there were three. Okay. I asked her to point me in the direction of the correct location and she responded the receipt I had specified Cellular Sales. Okay, that meant nothing to me. I've bought phones from my local store, this store and all I wanted to know was where I should go to pick up the phone I had already purchased. She told me that there were 3 locations in Mohegan Lake and that this wasn't even in Mohegan Lake (it was!). She told me to call the store where I made the purchase, rather than help me. They have fixed our phones and provided three upgrades, all of which went smooth as silk. The sales staff is knowledgable and while there is a bit of a push for accessories and extras (these generate big profits) it's not pushy. read more

So this store got rid of the front sign in kiosk which I find odd... you now have to wait for an employee to come over and sign you into their tablet and your name populates on the screen. Only issue with this is that customers come in dazed and confused on who is next in line, who is waiting, who is being helped etc. Kinda dumb I went on an off day and only had to wait about 10 mins which is rare. Otherwise I can't stand coming here. It's an instant migraine. Ashley warmed up to us and was quite helpful in telling us about upgrading our plan and details to get a new phone. After 2+ years, it was time to upgrade 2 iPhones. Arrived on a Sunday morning and was greeted and served immediately Tip I: Buying process can't be rushed. Too much $$$s and too many choices and then data transfer process to get through. In my view, too complex a transaction to do online. I think I can buy a new car in less time. Tip II: Have the FiOS representative present onsite review your account while you are there. We saved some $$$s each month in return for renewing our FiOS agreement, if you have one. Three iPhone pricing options were presented without much sales spin, and special promotions (always something going on) were offered. We chose the equipment financing-thru-Verizon as the best option among three offered. There were also iPad promotions worth $250. Passed on that one. Michael, our sales associate, listened well and made the whole process work well including data transfer using iPhone Cloud back-up, $121 trade-in per phone, wiping old phone of data, and installing the screen protectors right there. We were never rushed. Kudos for making the whole process work well. One glitch, not Verizon fault, we had to re-create/re-install 3 separate Google Mail accounts to make them work. Otherwise would not accept the existing passwords...some considerable angst until this was resolved. Not documented anywhere we could find. Overall, a better buying experience than we were expecting. Helpful to arrive early before crowds pour in. Reflecting: I now spend more with Verizon Wireless each month than I spent on rent when I was first married. Who'd have thunk! read more

I arrived at Verizon with my family around 4:00pm on Sunday. There is no way to check yourself in anymore, so you have to wait for an employee to notice you. We were greeted and checked in by James. A woman was called on by a female employee, Angelina. I'm happy for this employee that she has a wonderful son, it's great his teeth are coming in, I understand your friend had a negative encounter with the police, I understand 4 employees are not in, yes, it is hot in here, so on and so on. TOO MUCH INFORMATION. She laughed and spoke with other employees. My family and I felt ignored by the customer-lack-of-service agent. I understand building rapport with customers, but she absolutely demolished it. Her behavior was very unprofessional. The customer spoke to my family that she wanted to leave. So did we! Another employee walked into the store and greeted us promptly, apologized for the wait, and assisted us immediately. Heather K worked her magic and I cannot thank or praise her enough. (read previous review) Today my Motorola Turbo 2 froze while starting and I didn't know how to restart it (hint to self: Google it and save the trip) I went into the Mohegan Lake Verizon store and there were Michael, Larry & Carlos (Should be Mo, Larry & Curly because these three are definitely stooges) My first question while online waiting was why does it take two people to help one customer? Answer: Because they are incompetent. Now Carlos doesn't know how to restart the phone so he asks Larry who says, try bla bla bla, that didn't work so the boy genius Carlos goes online to get an answer. He can't restart the phone so he looks back to Larry and Michael whereby Larry says to me you have two options 1) buy a new phone at full retail ($700.00) or 2) go on post-pay and you can pay it off over 2 years. I said I'll choose option 3, there is no three says the genius, yes there is option 3 is you and Verizon go &^#!* yourselves and I'll go elsewhere. I went to my car and held down the power button & reduce volume at the same time and voila the phone restarted. Went in there last month to replace a phone on my account. Ok, no big deal. As the agent is looking at my account she tells me I can save $5 a month if I switch to the unlimited over 55 plan and $20 a month with the same plan using auto pay. I tell her I'm not interested in using auto pay but will do the $5 a month since $60 a year is better than nothing. Today for the hell of it I check to see what my next months bill will be it see it's going up $27 a month not down $5 a month like I was told! I call customer service and was able to get switched back to my previous plan and bill. The people in these damn stores need to be trained and know what the hell they're talking about. If I could give my experience with this Verizon location less than one star I would. I live about an Eighth of a mile from them and stopped going there about three years ago. I went back this week when I had a problem with my phone hoping for a better experience and for about a second I thought I was going to be okay....WRONG. I ended up. Experiencing not only incompetence, I felt they were unapologetic as well as extremely rude. The rudeness was especially apparent with the store manager. I really need to find an alternative to this store. They "sold me" a $30 screen protector for my new iPhone. Yes, I know, caveat emptor, I should have done some more research. Anyway, a couple of weeks later, the protector peels away from the phone. I go back to this location and they tell me they cannot do anything and I should get a replacement from the manufacturer. So I file for a replacement and finally it arrives in the mail. I go back to Verizon with the new protector and my phone and they tell me the new protector is different from the old and they don't know how to install the new, so go do it myself. What? The service at this store is absolutely awful! I asked the sales representative to explain the differences between their Edge program and the 2-year contract. She raised her eyebrows and asked me 'didn't they explain this to you when you got Edge? ' And then I told her I wanted to get either iPhone6 or 6 plus. Without asking me, she ordered an iPhone 6. Terrible experience while trying to upgrade phone. Staff's lack of knowledge bordered on deception. The phone did not work when we got home. Took an hour and a half with Verizon help line to get it going. Discovered there was a charge for Hum app tho sales associate assured me there was no charge. Then they wanted to charge me a restocking fee when I returned it 2 days later. Wrong information was given about military discounts Manager too busy to talk to me. i went there today. I walked in and there was no one there to greet you (that was fine). Finally an employee walked up to check me in and had a happy face on like I was his buddy. I then had to wait 10 minutes. If I could do a zero star I would. I had to go here for a accessories return and showed up right before closing. To my astonishment the doors were already closed. Several customers still in the store and five associates. Two associates went to the door to let customers out and didn't even acknowledge me. Even after I said "So you're not going to let me in?!". I had to come back the next day again out of my way and finally do the return. I asked to speak to the location manager who than blew me off and thanked me for my info. Me and my friend went there simply to get a case and a charger. It took ten minutes for someone to actually help us. There was not much variety out there for an iphone 5s case so we asked a man named Gerald and he went in the back to get a case. He was in there for half an hour. We couldn't understand how this guy could go back there to get 3 cases and take that long. He came back, and didn't even say sorry. Once my friend got his case, I asked about the charger and he tried to sell me an unneeded charger that would cost $10 more even after I told him I just wanted a regular apple one. Once we went to pay, we went in line with 3 people ahead of us and it took 15 minutes because there was only one person checking everyone out. Once we finally were first in line, Gerald tried to scan the items and the scanner wasn't working. So he tried to do it manually and did it wrong twice. So he got mad and called someone else over to fix our items. Eventually it worked. Overall, the service in this store is awful and we spent about an hour in there for 2 simple things.
