I do like walking into a business and having someone greet me and ask how they can help. It's also great to have a cell phone store that has adequate staffing and customers don't have to stand around and wait all afternoon to be acknowledged. I have an iPhone 14, an iPad Pro and home Internet and I signed up for another home Internet services yesterday and went to pick it up. when I got there, I told the manager that I had a lot of problems with the last one trying to train the modem to the service at my actual address so I asked if she would do it at the store instead and she claimed that it could not be done. I told her my first modem was programmed right here in this very store, just as im asking you to do now, so I know that is not true but she continued to say she is the manager and that is the protocol. I wasted my whole lunch hour and several hours after trying to do something that Verizon should've just been happy to help me do in the first place. I went to the store to get the help I asked for the first time and the manager tried to give me a phone number and send me off again and I told her if you don't want to help me you can just take this thing back and then she said "that will be fine" because she clearly didn't wanna help. well, it's not fine because you wasted a whole bunch of my time, and didn't try to help me at all when i was trying to prevent abunch of wasted time and then when I got upset about it, she told me that I have to leave or she will call the police. I really cannot believe this happened to me, but if something doesn't get straightened out and she doesn't get reprimanded I am seriously considering canceling my service because there is no way I am going to let my phone company treat me like that. read more

Colin, at the Merle Hay location was exceptional. My son and I swapped watches, he got my old phone, I got a new one, and our cellular wasn't working on our watches. It was not an easy fix, he had to make a call, but he was extremely patient and we got it fixed. It also helped that Colin loved cars, and so does my son, so that helped the time go by and kept my busy 10 yr old boy occupied! We appreciate his patience and solving our problem with ease! This store is Great!! The Staff are Great! I upgraded my phone to the new Galaxy S23 Ultra. They totally set it up and made sure it was to my liking. I also purchased the Galaxy 5 watch. Again, it was operating and I knew how to use it before I left the store. I wholeheartedly recommend this store. read more

Verizon's customer service at 3714 Merle Hay Rd, Des Moines, IA 50310, left me fuming. Despite paying in full for a phone, the store reps made me wait an hour and then refused to hand it over. When I protested, they called the police. Shockingly, law enforcement ( Des Moines Police) sided with them, ignoring their blatant mistreatment of a paying customer. Verizon's behavior is reprehensible, showing a complete lack of regard for customer satisfaction. Their actions reflect a company that values profit over integrity, willing to mistreat loyal customers without hesitation. This experience serves as a warning to others: avoid Verizon if you value fair treatment and respect. Sarah Speidel was so helpful ... and super friendly. She quickly got our account changed to what appears to be the best option for us. She gets a 5 star rating. But fir this review, I only gave 4 states because getting to the point where we actually talked to Sarah was painful. Calling the 800# for help was a complete waste of time. (1) I could barely understand the person's English (2) Her dog was barking very loudly the entire time and (3) She kept insisting that I should be transferred to the Fraud Dept when all I wanted was an explanation of charges. read more

We stopped here one night after work to upgrade our two phones. We knew exactly what we wanted and didn't need a lot of assistance. We were 7th on the waiting list after we arrived, but only ended up waiting about 5 minutes. The gentleman who helped us gave us the long spiel about a "deal" on the $50 accessories and when we declined he kept after us about how we would break our phones and be sorry about it. Unfortunately he wouldn't let that go for the remainder of our visit. When we quit responding to those comments, then he started commenting on how little we talked. We were literally just there to get in and out. We were handed our boxes with our new phones and told to get them set up ourselves. If i had know that the process works that way now, I would have just ordered them online and saved myself a trip to the store. read more

So, honestly, I wish I could review the people who reviewed this store and give THEM a one-star review, because they are all wrong! This store is great! The staff are personable, friendly, willing to work with customers, and honest. I did not feel an ounce of pressure as Cody worked with me to switch me over from the hellish nightmare that is Sprint. Although it took quite a long time because of some mistakes made on my end and some technological issues, Cody was very apologetic and wanted very much so to speed things up for me. I was with my 18-month-old son, and the staff were very interactive with him and made us feel very comfortable and at home. I was able to joke around a bit with both Cody and Derek (who doesn't know how to spell his own name, but he has cool shoes, so I'll let that go), and they were both very fun. I appreciate working with them in this store, and although I don't live around here, I will definitely be back in the future! P.S. Cody has cool shoes, too! read more

Very rude manager when I tried to return something that was not what I had bought! I was shown something in the store and thought that was what i had bought it the sales person gave me something else in my bag! The box was ripped so couldn't return it one day later! My husband and I were there last night and wanted to add a line. They got us to buy a new phone and I got a new one for free. Of course they added all the new phone case and covers plus a new charger. We were there for over an hour. I had to make an appt to go back to get the old phones transferred over. after I left I tried to use my phone and I had no service. I could not call out or make calls. I was furious. Somehow managed to lose my phone during the chaos that is St. Patrick's day. Wasnt able to track it by find my iPhone so decided to go to the Verizon store and see what my options were. We were greeted by the door guy who asked what the issue was and put our name on the list to be helped next. Now there were about 5/6 workers there, all male, all wearing awful shoes haha and some seemed to be just standing around. Felt kind of like the apple store. We waited about 10 or 15 minutes for someone to come help us. One of the workers finally sauntered over to where we were sitting and mumbled something about an upgrade to my friend. I explained that it wasnt a upgrade but a lost phone. the guy took my information to check out my account details. He barely said anything to us and stared at us like we were idiots. He informed that I had an insurance deductible and could get a new phone shipped to me overnight but it probably wouldn't make it to me until Monday. My friend asked if there were any other options and he just stared at us and repeated the question and then said I could drop $600 for a new phone. He did make a funny joke about leprechauns stealing my phone which eased the tension a bit. He gave me the number for filing an insurance claim and sent us on our way. HORRIBLE customer service and service in general. I went home and filed my claim online, and received my replacement phone the next morning! That guy was not very much help and probably should figure out how to talk to people if he wants to be in customer service/sales. read more

I went to this store to get some hands on help form the tech people. One of the phones on my account was a Motorola model that was discontinued back in 2012. I had received a upgraded phone that I ordered off the internet but could not get the contacts and photo's to transfer. After a 10 minute wait I was finally put on the check in list. I had to speak up when others who had come in after me were asked to check in ahead of me. I waited another 10 minutes for a very rude women to come and assist me. When I showed her my phones and before I could tell her my problem she told me that she would give me written instructions on how to do it myself. I tried to explain that I had already tried the process and was having problems but was not allowed too. I asked for her business card and was refused. She then offered to let me speak with the manager. Upon her return she stated that he was on a conference call and would be unavailable for an hour to an hour and a half. I asked for the managers name and was refused. I then asked to take a photo and was told that that was illegal and to leave the store at once which I did. I have been a customer of Verizon since 1996 and purchased several phones from this location with NO problems and good service. This women has helped me make a major business decision. My company's New cell provider will Not be Verizon. Those 34 phones will be purchased and serviced by a firm that provides customer service. read more

Purchased Phone off Contract from this store, the phone went on sale two days later. I was still within my 15 day window, however they said they could not honor the new sale price. I would have to return the phone and then buy another one. What? I called the manufacturer, they helped me, I called Verizon customer service they helped me. Point is call Verizon before you go into the store. Employees have no clue on current policies and are not eager to help unless you are signing up for some stupid deal like Edge. read more
