This store really deserves a low rating. I was there in Nov. 2019 where i bought a phone from this store. i asked the sales rep, can you set it up for me, i dont see very well because i just cataract surgery a week ago, he shrugged his shoulders and said no and walked away, i was the only customer in the store. Yesterday - 3/27/2020, i went to this store again, and after waiting 15 min outside because they were practicing social distancing, one of the sales reps unlocked the door with a very irritated look on his face and said, what do you want, and i said there's something wrong with my message+ app, and he said 'so'? i asked him can you help me, he replied, no, we're not here for that' and then he immediately locked the door. You know, i get it, i really really do, everyone is scared, i'm scared too, but i went there because i needed the text function for work, i'm a nurses' aide. i later got on the phone with verizon's tech level support, no waiting, so so so courteous. she was fast and efficient. Let me just say this, i will never ever go to this verizon store again, i will either call for technical support or buy my phone from best buy where they automatically set everything up for you. I want to get revenge on these people. I bought a Verizon 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot from these people in August 2011, and the sales representative, Mohammed Mohim, told me that there was no possible way that I would go over their data limits for the 2-yr contract. My last monthly internet bill was $130.00. The bill before that was $90.00. You watch a single Netflix movie, and it will charge you $20.00 in overage. I went over there to complain, and this woman Tyesha McCloud told me that there are no plans by other companies that offer unlimited internet service, which is a complete lie, as Time Warner offers you unlimited service on internet for $35.00 or $50.00. read more

I've been to many Verizon stores and this one is by far the worst. The customer service and technical support is terrible. I had a phone replaced under warranty at this retailer and noticed that there was a physical issue with it after a few days. I went to a different Verizon store because I was not in the Bay Ridge area and they agreed that the replaced phone had an issue and documented my account (they did not replace my phone because it wasn't in stock). I went back to the Bay Ridge Verizon, they inspected the phone and deemed that it was a reasonable flaw and would not replace the phone. I couldn't understand how one Verizon retailer would replace it and this store would not. I explained that I was unhappy with the phone issue and the technical representative pushed me off, when I asked to speak with the manager, he was even less helpful. I decided to leave and pursue the issue with Verizon corporate customer service. IMPORTANT NOTE: Verizon corporate customer service was EXTREMELY HELPFUL and replaced the phone. Do not waste your time with the Bay Ridge Verizon. If you need anything done by Verizon call the 800#. I gladly give Verizon corporate customer and technical support 5 stars. read more

There are two big things separating this Verizon store from others. And their names are Osi and Wendy. Both have gone above and beyond to try and help me with complicated billings issues. They have spent time, doing their due diligence in order to make sure I was taken care of before I left the store. They will do their best to help rectify any situation you might be experiencing. Also They do not just forget about you when you leave the store, both have consistently called me and followed up to ensure my concerns have been met. If you go to this location ask for either you will not be disappointed. read more

I've been with Verizon for over 15 years. I had a grandfather plan for unlimited data which I paid for years and years and years ago. (I PAID FOR IT VERIZON) . A few weeks ago I called Verizon to ask them to activate my mobile Hotspot, they said no problem, I asked, would this change my plan in any way because I have a grandfather unlimited data plan. She said no , don't worry about that, you're just activating your Hotspot, which is free , so don't worry about that. Next thing I know is, I get this huge bill with overage fees. I go down to the Verizon store and they tell me, oh , you changed your plan on such and such date. I explained that I activated my mobile Hotspot that's all, and asked him to deactivate the Hotspot and go back to my original plan that was changed without authorization. He said sure no problem. Fast forward to the next bill and again, a huge bill with overage fees. I go back and they tell me, well you have a 2gb plan that's why the overage fees! I explain it all again and she says I don't know if you can get your old plan back but you can call the number ask. So I called the number and of course placed on hold like forever, finally I get someone, explain it all again and she says she would work on it and call me on Monday to let me know. Uh, no, nobody called.. So I switched to t-mobile! And that's my horror story with Verizon.. Bye bye Verizon read more

What a joke! Was awarded a $300 coupon off retail price for a phone for my troubles so far with Verizon. Apparently, it was taken away or never existed on my account. This location is in Bay Ridge. It is impossible to find parking and the store can be packed with no organization, and Verizon in generally is pretty crappy. The employees are only friendly and accommodating as long as you are happily drinking Verizon's kool-aid. If you challenge them on anything, they get a serious attitude. Basically, Verizon knows their customer service is atrocious and they don't care. The fact that they have the best wireless service, allows them to treat their customers like scum. For the past few years, I had a droid that constantly had technical issues. I would be at this store location every day after work, explaining that I needed help. None of the employees seems too eager or concerned to help. They ordered me two new phones, none of which fixed the issue, and then I had to order a new battery, on my own dime, even though I have a warranty and insurance. The attitude of Verizon is basically "my way or the highway". They don't care about keeping you as a customer in the least. Recently i was eligible for an upgrade and came in to this location with my husband. After choosing a phone and having to pay for it, I was told the Verizon now has a $30 fee when you upgrade. My husband asked what exactly the fee was for, and an awkward situation ensued for about 25 minutes, ending in no employee being able to explain the fee. They transferred my contacts (something I could have done on my own) and said that was what the fee was for. Result: They did not simply transfer my existing contracts, they transferred every single person that I had communicated with via phone and email in over 2 years. 80% of the contacts I do not know, and now I have to manually go and delete them. So basically, I paid Verizon an extra $30 dollars, so I can spend hours editing my contacts. I fully understand that the employees are not responsible for the actions or policy of Verizon, a money sucking, inconsiderate corporation, but it was still incredibly frustrating. I think this was my last upgrade with Verizon. At this point, I feel that I am constantly being deceived and cheated out of my money. read more

Obviously it's a 1 star rating! First off the store, the staff is completely unprofessional and unmotivated to help anyone. I am pretty sure that most of the girls that work(ed) there are still trying to look for their eyeballs that got lost somewhere in the back of their heads. I have never seen anyone roll their eyes so much!!!! Wow! Second of all, verizon is just horrible! Each month I laid out $190 for a SIMPLE family plan, and that's an average, because their hidden fees are out of this world!!! I never knew what to expect the next bill. The first couple of months I fought with them, then it was really no use. Another thing- the best coverage in the continental USA, they say???? My a**!! I've had my family and friends call me and yell at me for ignoring their calls - meanwhile the call was never received. The internet - wow, a snail moves faster! They are stuck somewhere in 2003 - with AOL dial up or something. There's absolutely never any internet coverage with them, if there is - not even worth trying. Most of the costumer service phone calls were pleasant - can't say anything about that. Otherwise, I regret spending almost $5000 in bills for this horrible cellular company that should retire or rethink their network coverage!! BOO! read more

I was a Verizon customer from 2005 until 2011. In January 2010 I went to the Bay Ridge Verizon on 86th and 5th. I renewed my contract, added a second line and purchased two blackberries. In March 2011, I returned to the same location after my blackberry died with the intention of upgrading to iPhones. I happened to ask if there was any reason why my bill was so much more expensive than everyone else I know that has blackberries. The salesperson told me that now that I was getting an iPhone my bill would go down because I would no longer need the corporate email account. I told him that i did not have a corporate email account. Oh but I did. Apparently, Verizon "defaults" all blackberry accounts to have corporate data plans for $44.99/month EACH. Personal data plans for blackberries are $29.99/month each, which means that I had been paying $30.00 more than I should have been for 15 months because the guy that rung me up failed to change the default option even though I made it very clear that I needed these for personal use only. The best part about all this was that Verizon refused to refund my money because the guy that had rung me up no longer worked there. I thought - wait - if he still worked here would you garnish his wages by several hundred dollars to "right" this wrong? Or would he be fired? Neither would have made it ok - but the fact that Verizon wasn't willing to do anything baffled me. They actually told me that I should have known, after seeing their advertisements for unlimited data for $29.99, that I was overpaying. By the way, my bill said nothing but "BBA" which they told me I should have known meant "Blackberry Business Account." Wow. Classy. I switched to ATT and spent $420 to get out of my Verizon account. It was worth it. My bill is almost $100 less per month with ATT. read more

This has to be one of the worst Verizon Wireless stores that I have ever been to. From the apathetic glances of the sales people once you walk into the place, to the lethargy of the technical support staff in the back; this place is terrible. The employees act as if they were annoyed if you asked for help, and you can tell from their attitudes that they just want to get away from you. The attitude of technical support is even worse, they act as if they are doing you a huge favor by even looking into your problem. I waited there for a half hour waiting to be helped with my phone issue with about five people ahead of me and for each customer, they just took a quick glance at their phone, pushed a few buttons and told them some nonsense about how they couldn't duplicate the problem and how they couldn't help them any further. It is an absolute waste of time and effort to come to this particular store and expect decent customer service or helpful assistance, because it does not exist here. The worst thing is is that the employees there know it and they could care less. Avoid if at all possible! read more

RUDEST PEOPLE EVER! I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The security guard was nicer then the staff. I went to get a new phone but I am on my dad's business plan. Always in the past the store called him and authorized the transaction. For some reason this couldn't be done according to the workers at the store. EVEN THOUGH my dad called customer service and that's what they said to do! When I explained this the fought with me about. Saying I was wrong and customer service was wrong, and my dad was wrong! ZERO customer service skills going on here! Then more then one employee got involved in the argument, felt very ganged up on! They could have just explained that was not there policy and they couldn't do it. In fact they never even said that and just yelled at me saying I was wrong! Also it seems you can't file a complaint with Verizon, I really would like to make this more official. Maybe there's some type of customer service class these employees can take! read more

I am not sure why I subjected myself again. Bay ridge native--Bensonhurst is better--more knowledgable. I did--only to find out they screwed up my data plan put me and my sister in law on a shared plan instead of what they were told--and said they would--to put with my brother--her husband. Talking doing and thinking--not a strong point for anyone in this store. Conniving too------ talked my senior citizen not tech savy father into buying some crap thing that never worked then refused to take it back just a few days later....not businessman. Cannot be legal. The information I got from the woman that helped me was completely wrong and now it is too late since my daughter is out of the country. If you are in desperate need of Verizon customer service DO NOT GO HERE. The sales representatives are cold and unkind. They always make you wait much longer than needed and never seem to be able to help customers at all. The store itself is perpetually crowded and there is no parking around that neighborhood. There are other Verizon stores you can go to, but I am saying this from multiple experiences that no matter how frustrated you were when you arrived, you will leave completely furious with the inatentive service given to you. Worst experience ever. I still can't believe this store stays afloat. It is mind bogging. The customer service was so terrible it gives me anxiety even thinking about it. The lady who I was unfortunately stuck with had a gross orange weave and fake white long nails. I was so disgusted I didn't even want her touching my brand new phone. She answered her phone in the middle of checking me out, listened to outside conversations around us, and didn't even look at me when speaking to me. So confused how someone could employ her. I have never been to this store and for good reason. Fraudulent charges were racked up using my SSN under someone else's name. This is the store location where someone fraudulently created an account under an alias name (not matching my SSN) and upon review of my credit report I have had to go through the hoops of ensuring that my credit is restored. I called this store location because Verizon Wireless fraud department gave me the store location where the woman created this account. When i spoke to the manager, Candice, I realized she was just as useless as Verizon headquarters was. She refused to tell me the details of how this account was opened and said that it was the decision of Verizon credit department to open a fraudulent account. She also refused to acknowledge that her store employees committed an act of theft by creating an account using my SSN without verification of identity. I highly recommend to stop your accounts with Verizon. They are under investigation with the FTC and if you are a victim of fraud you should join in the class action lawsuit. I cannot believe these stores are able to commit such theft without prosecution under the law. It is a violation of my personal rights, as well as my rights to privacy.
