His friendly service was a comforting experience and he was very transparent with our options. Got a new phone on an upgrade and was literally told "your bill will not be going up, if anything it will go down" due to canceling a jet pack we no longer used. 1 Star. Only because I can't give zero and still post this. Dear Big Bear Verizon, Do your employees need a GPS to find their own common sense? Because wow. This store is run like a raccoon convention in a dumpster fire -- chaotic, disorganized, and oddly proud of it. I walked in like a responsible adult looking to upgrade new Pixel phone. Multiple employees reassured me they had it in stock. So naturally, I made an appointment to come back later that day to have it set up. Fast forward to 1:00 PM: I walk in, sit down, wait 20 minutes while the tech finishes up with his last customer, I had my book and my tablet, I was ready for the phone setup process to begin. Then I was told: "Oh yeah, we don't have your phone in stock." I'm sorry, WHAT? You let me drive back, wait in your store like a bored extra in a commercial, knowing you didn't have the phone?! No call. No text. No hint of a clue. How is this okay? And the bored looking Verizon employee just looked at me, like, what, you didnt want to waste forty minutes of your day driving around Big Bear Lake while I could be out hiking with my dog? So fine. I ordered the phone. Itook a deep breath. I made another appointment for the following Tuesday because this same employee tells me I'll save money by switching to a business account. Sounds good, right? I gather my tablet and my book and head back out to the Jeep, I'll be patient and come back in three days for my new phone. When I show up Tuesday, surprise! That one business account employee is off that day. Apparently, he is the only one on Earth allowed to set up business accounts at the Verizon store in Big Bear Lake. So, of course, I have to come back again. At this point, the Verizon staff must think I'm auditioning for a docuseries called "How Many Times Can One Woman Visit the Same Store Without Losing fucking Her Mind?" Anyway, I finally get my new phone, and... drumroll please... The internet doesn't work. No joke -- by day three, it was giving strong 2001 AOL dial-up energy. I'm talking: Can't load my Tripadvisor account for my small business Emails just circling the drain. BBC News? HAHAHA. And all my favorite conservative podcasts? Forget it. I miss you, Ben Shapiro! And yes, I did what any sane person would do. I WENT BACK. Five times. Five. Every time, I got the same blank stares and confused shrugs like I was asking them to split the atom, not fix the mobile data on a smartphone in 2025. Finally, someone says, "Hey, let's move you to a business data plan -- that'll solve it." Plot twist: It didn't. My cat videos are still buffering like it's 1999. Today -- weeks later -- I get on the phone with an actual intelligent Verizon rep (not located in Big Bear, obviously) and she very politely explains that when I was moved to the business account, I lost unlimited data. WHICH IS WHY MY INTERNET DOESN'T WORK WHEN I'M NOT ON WI-FI. Let me repeat that louder for the Verizon staff in the back: WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS ACCOUNT DOESN'T INCLUDE UNLIMITED DATA?? You mean to tell me the same employee who asked what I use my phone for, heard me say "I'm a small business owner, I travel constantly, I hotspot all the time," and still thought, "You know what she doesn't need? Unlimited data." Bravo, Verizon Big Bear. You've taken "customer service" and turned it into an endurance sport. If you love wasting your time, getting zero answers, and reliving the trauma of 2003 internet speeds, this store is for you. Otherwise, save your sanity and go literally anywhere else. This is not a corporate VZW. They have no way to get you the promotions you signed up for. I have been trying to get my promotions and credits for 2 months but am getting outrageously high bills instead. Numerous tickets have been submitted to handle this with zero response from VZW. The staff is nice and try to be helpful but clearly their company does not work well with VZW. I am not a happy customer and regret changing over to VZW through this Verizon store. read more

So I returned the phone and they received it on the 27th of August. I am still getting threatening phone calls and texts. I have spent over ten hours trying to fix this problem. do yourself a favor don't do business with Verizon. RJ, the manager of the Big Bear location started this mess and needs to fix the problem. His Supervisor is well aware of the situation and has done nothing to help. I'm at a loss on how to return this defective phone, I've talked to many supervisors asking for the kit to return my phone. I made 5 requests for the labels to return this defective phone. I called RJ on Monday night and left a message for him but I have yet to receive a return call. They sending me nasty notices that owe for the phone, 600.00 plus dollars. No way Jose!!!! WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME ! If you are a local mountain resident, I recommend something other than this office. Please grab a cup of coffee and check this out, I went to the Verizon location in Big Bear to get a new phone to replace my defective Samsung. This was the third phone in one year that needed to be fixed. After telling the young man who was helping me my Problem his Manager came out and told me I needed to switch to a business account. I did not want to change my whole account for fear everything would get messed up. Well, guess what, it's all messed up !! They credited my final payment to my new business account instead of to my old which we were closing out. They inverted the numbers on my home address to an incorrect address. Amazing experience for a cell phone store! They had multiple employees working, so we didn't have to wait. They were super helpful and patient, explaining everything to us. We even benefitted from extended holiday sales and walked out with a watch, tablet, and new phone with $5 less on our monthly bill. Getting your phone stolen is super upsetting. This was the worst experience. We went in to help my grandparents who are in their 90s add a line onto their current plan. I told the associate price is important since they're on a fixed income and have limited resources, they don't need anything fancy. They proceeded to add multiple lines to their account to "reduce" their bill, which made no sense to me but they assured me that it was part of the process... ok, I don't work there so I have no idea. After hours there, got home and a few days later checked their account online, $550 a month for two cell phones. Called Verizon and they explained that they just added lines to make commission on them. Went back to the store to get them to explain, spent over 12 hours at the store over multiple days with them deleting and adding lines and doing God knows what. And now have spent over 15 hours on the phone with Verizon over multiple days to get this sorted and fixed. Please please please do not give these people your money, drive down the hill to a better Verizon store they are scammers and dishonest. I can't even imagine if grandparents were trying to deal with this on their own. I have never been so appalled at a sales associate in my life. read more

I bought a brand new Pixel Pro 7 from this store less than 2 months ago. The battery is defective, won't hold a charge whatsoever. I went to this Verizon at 9a.m. this morning when they opened to try to get the phone fixed or get a new phone through my Verizon customer care package that I have paid for. The employee agreed with me, my battery is toast. He told me no problem, call Verizon 611 and they will send you out a BRAND NEW PHONE overnight. So I call Verizon and they say even though the phone is brand new, no way will they send me a brand new phone, they will send me someone else's broken phone that Verizon has refurbished. So basically my brand new pixel phone is a $700 paper weight. What frustrates me about this visit to the Verizon store is that the employee basically lied to me and said they would send me a brand new phone. Obviously the employees who work here don't know anything about Verizon products at all. Furthermore, I will definitely like to say that if the manager of this Verizon store is reading this review that I am the individual who called Verizon and made the complaint about your store and your employees not knowing what they are talking about. read more

BUYER BEWARE..They sold me this case at our local Verizon store when I upgraded my phone. They charged me 50$ for it. It took them three weeks to get my case in, then when I showed them the scratches on my screen, I told them the liquid glass is a scam. Then the guy tries to sell me a glass screen protector for 70$. You can buy them in a 3-pack for 8.99 on Amazon. Same "hardness rating 9h"(also total b.s.) If you don't need the Hotspot or 5g, I'd strongly suggest going with another provider. They've got me bent over a barrel for 30 months on this stupid phone, but after my contract is up, I'm never buying anything from them again. What they're doing is criminal. I work harder than any of them ever have for my money, and they just punch buttons on a keyboard and fleece people. You've been warned. read more

When I was about to finalize my purchase, He then told me to go choose a case and other items for an extra charge and when I denied these offers and told him I simply just wanna upgrade the phone all of a sudden he said they didn't have it in stock. I know a previous employee that used to work for them and he told me that they would rather save the phones for people that are going to purchase extra offers and upgrade their plans. My brother phone stopped working and they gave him a new phone....then said that my other brother needed one, which he did not. They said we would save money by changing to a Business account. Then the trouble started. They had given my bother a watch and I-pad....which he does not even know how to work. I did not realize this. It took us 3 visits....the last one took 2 1/2 hours and I had it changed back the way it was. I have been with Verizon for maybe 40 years....this is the worst I have ever seen. Someone needs to teach these kids about customer service. I have been to the store three times (including yesterday and today) and not once have I been greeted or acknowledged. More people came in and they were also ignored. I don't think their behavior is malicious, they just don't know any better. They do spend a LOT of time with each customer, which is good, but not if you're one of the five people waiting who might just have a simple question. There is only one person there who seems really experienced, so he's in high demand. They should figure out how he can train others so that he is not engrossed in an issue that he literally told me would take an hour. (I was trying to wait for his help because the people the day before were not able to solve my problem). There needs to be better training and more rational division of labor. read more

When i didnt like them better, i came to return and get apple, but no returns on headphones and they DO NOT in fact carry apple. I went into the store to see if Verizon had better coverage than T-Mobile out in Baldwin Lake. Austin assured me that they do since he has friends that live out there. I traded in a new Motorola Edge based on Austin's claim of a great deal. Turns out the trade in went to accessories that Austin said were included with the deal. I then dropped $212 on sales tax for the phones and accessories. I went home only to find out that coverage was the same as T-Mobile so I went back to the store to see what could be done with Austin telling me that it looks like the tower closest to me was having issues and that he'd put in a trouble ticket for me. Turns out he didn't. Also... Austin sold me a hotspot device that I didn't need and refused to accept a return on it stating that the store does not accept returns on that type of equipment. I called Verizon customer service and they called Austin, he said to them that the box was opened and he would have to charge a restocking fee. The box still has a factory seal on it.... another lie. Austin has also told me that he has ordered a signal booster but that won't work and he knows it because I don't have WIFI out there.. I could just go back to T-Mobile but I would have to purchase another phone since mine is no longer at the Verizon store. Now I'm not calling Austin a lier but do I trust him? I decided to switch carriers from Spectrum (2 phone plan $90), to Verizon (promotion, bunch of stuff I don't need $600). I don't even know what happened, by the time I was sold 2-phones, 1-watch, 1-tablet, I was starring at a $600 per month bill, and asking myself, what was I thinking. clearly I should never visit a car dealership to purchase a vehicle. this was the same exact experience. by the time the Verizon Victra rep finished explaining the deal, I was so tired, I just said ok. I was told the first bill would be higher, and that I would see the bills get smaller after paying my first bill. couldn't have been further from the truth. So, here we are 3 months later, and I'm going back to Spectrum. When I aked if there was any possibility of turning in all of my devices for a reduced final bill (est $2000), I was told, "No, we don't do that". of course you don't. So, here is the cost of joining (or rejoining) Verizon 1. $600 for accessories (Promotion), Taxes, Fees 2. $600 for new activations, Taxes, Fees 3. $2000 for termination after 30 days 4. the cost of visiting the Victra contractor to try and understand billing 5. the cost of endless chats, and phone calls to Verizon to try and understand billing Verizon has built quite an empire, on the backs of consumers like me for decades. Well, this consumer has learned his lesson, and will NEVER be a customer again. your stunts have cost you 2 customers for life. I changed my service from AT&T to Verizon and was promised a $250 rebate. I did absolutely everything the kid in this store said to do. He even helped me submit the rebate request because he had given me the wrong rebate code and it wouldn't work so he submitted with a different code. Over a period of 6 months, I spent many hours on chat and the phone with Customer Service to no avail. I had been told by Customer Service that the rebate was on the way, then later that I couldn't claim it because too much time had gone by! I was told by the kid in the store that he could get a rebate credit for me, and then a few days later he said that rebates were the client's responsibility to process. Then he promised it would be on my next bill, then he ignored me completely. Poor kid is a victim of this process too. I would have given this store a negative score if I could, but the Verizon website provided assistance that resolved my issue within a few hours so I'm being kind to Verizon. Fortunately I had screen shots and 8 pages of communication with the store and Customer Service. Once I took my dispute to the Verizon website dispute center, I had my $250 credit within a few hours. Not another promise of a credit, but an actual credit that I can see on my account. Word to the wise... document absolutely everything including text communication. Take nothing for granted because the rebate process is badly broken. Then go to the website and not the kid at the store. read more
