We showed up within 15 minutes. Michael Hoff, the associate that helped us, informed that the SIM card would be $35. What in the world? Who would pay that? So we actually walked out. Got back to the car and got kinda annoyed. So we went back in. He insisted it was $35. We demanded to talk to the female that answered the phone. Then he questioned us to confirm if we called the correct store. We said "yes. We're local. This is our regular store". He wound up selling it to us for $16. He then told us that we had to call AT&T and activate the SIM card. We go home. Call AT&T. Stay on hold for a long bit. Finally get a hold of some one. She happened to be a corporate manager for AT&T. We explained everything to her and she was appalled to hear of our experience. She explained that this particular store is not a corporate store but it's a franchise. So although they can charge any price - it's frowned upon. She couldn't even find that particular employee (Michael Hoff) in the computer system. She tells us that SIM cards cannot be activated over the phone and it needs to be done in store. So if you want to save yourself some headache- head to the corporate store in New London (I cannot vouch how good/bad the service is at that store either) (Yes this trip was about a year ago. I was there for THREE HOURS while they stumbled around trying to get all 3 phones working. They asked if my son would mind changing numbers (sure, a teenager would love to tell all his friends to use his new number). Then they tell me in 14 days to call and cancel the insurance, that anything they sell has to come with insurance but after that, our bill will be $30 per line. I follow my orders, check online and see that they are autobilling me for $540! It took me 3 phone calls totaling 5 hours to get that sort-of corrected. I still have to call a separate AT&T 800# to correct the fact that they signed me up for a business line, not a consumer line. Headache on top of headache. Avoid this store at all costs -- completely incompetent.

It came wrapped in hard plastic that you need to cut with a knife or scissors to open. I believe the item was defective. I could get it to work to either turn the lights on or shut them off but not both. I went to the store, with my receipt, to return the item. At first, they stated they got it working and it was not defective. ( They actually got it to turn on an item which I also did). Then they said they could not accept the return because I did not have the original packaging and therefore they could not resell it. I asked how are they going to sell an item that is not working properly. They still refused to accept the return. I left the timer with them and walked out of the store. We will never return. Now I understand how Amazon is so successful.

We had 5 knives, so we dropped them off and within about 2 hours, we got a call saying our knives were ready for pick up. The one they could not do was my large Chinese meat cleaver, but otherwise all the other large knives were done right. Great job ! I was able to use my digital coupons and rewards towards this transaction.

Outside, there was a mild scent of garage and sewer. Once we got in, there was no sales associate to greet and hand us the Kohl's cash. I had to find a sales associate who later told me since they have limited staffing - you get your Kohl's cash at checkout only. I asked if we can get it prior to checkout to see if we won big jokingly, and she said no. So, no way to know how much you'll get off until you're rung up. This was later incorrect, as I was checking out - a kinder associate gave a Kohl's cash handout to another customer. I understand that low staffing can be tough, but I wish there was a more centralized protocol in place. Also, there are self checkout options now, which couldn't be utilized for the Kohl's cash giveaway - amounting to longer waits at checkout. Clothes and stuff were fine - original prices are a bit steep for the quality; likely since they mark up with the intention to put things on sale to try and attract customers. Overall, I recommend improvements with management.

It will happen so fast you won't even notice you were scammed until you leave the store. If they offer you any coupons or get upset when you don't sign up, just tell them no bluntly. They don't quit.
