There's still down time, but I expect that of all internet companies. Most of the time, fixing it is as simple as rebooting the router. I just appreciate being able to reach a local guy without going through the headache of listening to an automated help service. I also appreciate that they're not one of the major companies trying to screw over people and I think they'll be dedicated to net neutrality no matter what happens.

I had a heart attack, and was not able to cancel until the last day of the cancellation period. I discovered that Socket wasn't answering the telephone that day. They charged my credit card for a full year's service. I contacted them, requested a refund. They kept promising a refund, but it never arrived. I'd go without Internet before I ever dealt with Socket again.

Once again I did and my Internet was super fast for a bit. I feel for it for awhile but after 3 upgrades I'm on to their game. They throttle you so that you will have to buy the more expensive plans, why wouldn't they. 30$ for basic compared to mid range 75$. They always give you that week free when you upgrade to "try" and it's amazing but it slows down after that. If you can get anyone's else AT&T or COMO I suggest it. Once a big company gets out in the country, which will happen, they will be out of business guarantee.

If the wind blows 5 MPH your internet goes out, if it rains your internet goes out, if leaves grow on a tree near you the internet goes out. Customer Service is 9 to 5 weekdays, which means when your internet goes out at 5:01pm on Friday you are DONE for the weekend (which is most weekends with this company). $35.00 a month? I guess you get what you pay for. In this case you pay $35 a month for internet that is far worse than dial up, that has an 80% down time, and that is a TOTAL and COMPLETE waste of your time and money. Companies such as EasyNet gained their claim to fame by providing "internet" to rural areas. The truth is that people get STUCK using EasyNet because there are very few alternatives. SAVE YOUR MONEY and invest in a different internet service. Cell Phone Internet is even better than this company! As is Dial Up, as in pretty much ANYTHING ELSE!
