I came to store to pick up a phone I ordered online. once getting to the store they said they couldn't give me the phone due to some "error". Rep stated it was an easy fix and he could get me the same deal as the one I purchased online. he ended up increasing my bill by $70. when I saw that I decided just to return the devices and cancel the service the rep stated due to their not being a manger there they would have to charge me a $50 restocking for the the 3 unopened devices. after completing being fed up with the situation I just agreed to pay the fees. once agreeing the rep went back on his prior statement and said I actually could not return the devices at all due to there not being a manager there. the reps name was GAVIN. he has a condescending attitude while giving out incorrect information. AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS or else you will end up paying more money. read more

Every visit (about four this far) has been stellar. Customer service over the phone is usually filled with disappointment and language barriers but this location exceeds all expectations. I know most issues arise from Verizon's policies and changes and sometimes it's poor technical support. Th e staff at this location really do their best to resolve, activate, correct, and resolve as much as possible, very accurately. And I appreciate that because spending hours on the phone can be daunting and a consulate waste of time if the issues aren't resolved. Five stars!! read more

Don't shop here because they will lie to you! In May, I went to this store to address a phone situation. I was looking to use my warranty to get aother phone since my phone was having issues. The associate told me that instead of doing this, I could upgrade the phone and it would be cheaper to do so. I then asked him if this was going to be the same for my wife's line, and he said the total bill for both of us would drop (go down from $210 to $174 a month). So of course we both upgrade. I paid over $500 in fees to do so. The first bill in June showed the discount he said. However, all subsequent bills will be at $206. And since I recently added FiOS, this price includes the $25 discount I get from doing so. So basically, without the discount, my current bill would be $21 dollars a month higher than what I was paying before! As a lifelong Verizon customer, I'm disappointed in the service and the lies told in order to get a sale. I'm looking to switch phone companies because of this experience. I don't mind paying the price; it's just that they lied. If you have to stay with Verizon, go to another store where the sales people may be more honest! read more

My flip phone died, so I needed a new one. Actually, need isn't the right word... I sort of wanted one. My phone had lasted me a week short of 75 months, so I had gotten a lot of use out of it. And I didn't want a smart phone. I just wanted ... well... a phone. I came in expecting to be talked into an expensive new smart phone plan. Instead, the salesman (Ryan I think) was very friendly and showed me the three flip phones that Verizon had. One was $50, and two were $150+. He wasn't pushy and recommended the cheaper one. I agreed, and he helped me set it up and transfer my contacts. I felt bad for him because if they work on commission there surely was none for my sale. Still, he was friendly and helpful. When I need a new phone (hopefully in 2023!) I will come back. read more

Absolutely amazing customer support just now when I brought back a wireless charging stand I picked up yesterday to replace one that was not working. Bit of a learning curve for me to use it. Associate worked with me at my car then took unit in store to test. Came out saying it was fine. He humored me by taking my phone in to try. He wanted me comfortable with handing him my phone - gave me his as collateral! Ended up replacing power cord and retesting charger with my phone. Worked!! I have a small business and elected for Verizon one talk and wireless internet for my building. here's their scam to rob small businesses. they sent me 3 extra phones that I didn't need, when I asked them to remove them from the account they said they needed their equipment back before we disconnect any lines And they can't be dropped off to a local store they need to be shipped back to the warehouse. that's fine send me a fedex label.. MONTHS of calling every month asking for a label. and I also refused to pay for the lines that I didn't ask for or use.. so now there's a balance on my account after only paying half my bill for those months (only paying for what I used). due to the balance the next month they disconnected all my service. (to a small business That's HUGE! who knows how many customers you lost in that time.) anyways call them again demand they fix and repeat again the need for a label that was still not received.and they say oh sorry we will turn your lines back on. next month(still no label) and $20 per line for a "Re activation" fee (even for the lines not in use) totaling $169.00 For their mistmake on lines that shouldn't have been disconnected to begin with. call them again! literally every month spending 2-3 hours on the phone with customer service (who is a third party and you get transferred about 6 times every time you call in- be prepared) they don't take notes on your previous call so you have to start your explanation from the beginning.. trying to get your bill corrected. small business owners don't have the time to spend 2-3 hours every month fighting with Verizon.. save your self the trouble and seek a different company. Verizon is TERRIBLE for small business. also one talk was useless. promised all these features and once you get hooked up- you learn that it can't do half the things promised. read more

Well, 20 minutes later after seeing 4 workers walk in and out of the back room which it seemed like they were doing nothing (only 2 customers in the store that were being helped) I asked the manager how much longer because I needed to be somewhere in 30 minute. Buyer beware. The rates are cheap, the phones and service shoddy. I chose a Samsung A32 from the phones they offered as tgey did not accept mine. 3 days after activating my Samsung A32, it lost network connection. Took it in, salesperson reset network connection . A few days later...lost network connection. Salesperson changed sim card. A few days later...yup..lost network connection. Another person did something else with network. A few days later.. you guessed it. No network connection Took it back requesting new phone. As the technicians kept stringing me along with " fixes" It was now past the 14 day limit fir changing the phone. My option now is to finish paying fir this broken phone abd buying a new one ir mailing it back to Samsung to decide if it is indeed broken. Be very cautious folks. Bought a new phone on Sunday, and was told to take it home and do a self setup. Unfortunately, the phone couldn't connect to the service, and didn't show up on My Verizon. So, I go back to the store on Monday, 4:15 pm, for some customer support. A male employee checks me in, says the wait will be 20-30 minutes. Perfect, I can get my phone fixed and be on my way for a 5pm appointment. Said male employee then disappears to the back room, only to poke his head out for 2-3 minutes over the next 50 minutes. That's right - I waited 50 minutes, till I finally gave up and left. During those 50 minutes, despite there being 4 employees and more than half a dozen customers, it was rare for there to ever be more than 2 employees out on the floor, actively assisting customers. They would disappear to the back room, seemingly on a rotation of 15-20 minutes. The two female employees were with the same customers nearly the entire time. The second male employee directed a customer, trying to pay his bill, and having no luck at the kiosk, to another verizon store! As I leave, again, after 50 minutes of waiting, I tell this employee that I'm leaving, to take me out of the queue, and that the wait is ridiculous. He responds that they're trying their best, which I point out that it's BS, because they're all hanging out in the back room half of the time. He shouts, literally shouts, back some nonsense about COVID (mind you, there are no mask requirements, no social distance requirements, no limit on number of customers, no checking vaccine records etc.) as I walk out the door. Verizon FIOS company is made of scumbags. You ask to disconnect a service, they go through the motions, either not tell you the confirmation number or tell you that they will email it to you but never do. A month later you still get the bill, after you have returned the equipment and they know that you can't receive service. When you ask why the service was not terminated when equipment was returned, well, they ask for that confirmation number that they failed to provide you. This is what happened to me for my Guilderland based account and I paid for couple of months service after return of equipment for no fault of mine. Now, I had service again at m home in Watervliet and wanted to cancel and went through the process. What does the guy do? Doesn't give me the confirmation number again. I had to remember what scumbags these folks are and get it. I had also got on a no contract service but when I cancelled they said I was on contract and a termination fee applies. read more

I'm sure I'll come across as just one of those difficult customers but the fact is went in to ask a simple question about my contract. Whether the answer was yes or no I was okay with it as long as I could get some clarification. The problem was I was helped by John. Let's say John is just lacking in customer service. He wasn't rude per se he was just perplexed on what to do and was very uncomfortable to deal with. I asked him if I could talk to someone else at which time he dug further in. After getting the quick answer from John's manager I was all set. I told John maybe receiving more training in customer service would benefit him. He then offered to get the door for me. I told John I got the door. Of course when I left he was laughing with a coworker, because, as I started off saying I was probably looked at as a difficult customer. This is unfortunate as for the brief time I was with AT&T (had to switch due to no coverage in my home area), it was stellar no matter where you went. Verizon seems to be lacking either in properly training their employees in service or, in my area, they just have a problem regionally. P.S. The Crossgates store was one of the worst stores I had ever been to anywhere until they did a clean sweep and replaced that team who is now one of the best I have ever seen. Verizon Fios what a good service run by the very worst company on the planet. I'm not sure why but I called to renew my 2 year contract. Customer service rep told me over and over again how much he was going to help me (I've been a customer for 30 years). I was on hold for about 2 minutes while he check over my account, he came back and told me to show appreciation he was going to give me 3 new networks to watch...... sounds good but I already have 2 of the services in a package. When I told him I had two of them already he answer was to say, I can't see what services you have. I'm talking to Verizon and I have to tell him what services I have because he doesn't know. What kind of company is this. I then asked to talk to a manager and he told me it's almost closing time and all the managers have left. Hard to believe that a call center is operating with customer services reps and the managers have left. Hard not to think I'm being lied to and I'm not sure which is worse, being lied to and a manager was still there or he was telling the truth and managers just walk out and leave the workers there. I then asked who the general manager was for the call center and I was given the name Miss Terry (very professional) and her direct dial number. I tried the number planning to leave a message and the number was a general call in number. I guess it's time to talk to Spectrum. How can a company get as big as Verizon be such a mess. I think I know the answer, for the first 60 or more years as Bell Atlantic, Nynex and then Verizon it was a government monopoly. Never cared about customer service when they were the only option and somethings just never change. As bad as this experience was I tried to do a live chat and it was even worse. Worst customer service ever. Disorganized! I went there to order a replacement phone because my camera wasn't working correctly. I waited for a very long time for assistance. Finally a new employee came over.. told me he had only been working there a few days. I told him the situation with my phone. He checked it out with his manager who met with him far away from where I was standing and told him how to resolve it. He had his iPad in hand.. came back over to me to tell me a replacement would be sent. I told him I was going on vacation in a few days. He said he would have it overnighted to me by 8:00 pm the next day. The next day no phone came. I called the store to get sent automatically to the 800 number who had no record of a phone order through them or thru Assurion insurance. They called the branch. The branch said they couldn't talk to them about my account without my permission and that I would have to come to the branch and talk to them! Worst customer service ever. Got super fantastic service from Julie Zeissler when I was in a panic and had gone oveer my data limit just days before a new billing cycle. She was calm and explained everything to me-- really worked hard to help me out and find the most economical solution, despite Verizon's own computer system giving her a hard time. So I live in Albany and work in Vooheersville. I have seldom 4g conection at my home... most of the time is 3g and only two bars.... In Voorheersville there is never 4G or 3G... only one line... not even 1x. Costumer service is friendly but never resolve any of the issues... So I pay a lot of money for a service that is not provided... I will not recommend this carrier to any one. The problem with monopolies is that they take all the competitors away and you are subject to lame service and overprice options. Sad but is what corporate America wants. read more

Deplorable. Really, some of the worst customer service I have dealt with in any kind of professional environment. I was looking to get some information about a particular smartphone, and patiently waited to be assisted. Once assisted, a male associate could not answer some of the most basic questions about a smartphone. All he could tell me, was to look online. I did go online, but I was thinking that going to the store and asking a salesperson about the product could be beneficial. This man knew absolutely nothing, and could only tell me to look online. I was stubborn, though. I waited about 15 minutes to be assisted and now that it was my turn I was going to get my time's worth, so I started asking questions about a phone that I had no intention of buying, just to see if he had any knowledge about it. His only answer continued to be go online. He was extremely dismissive the whole time. He only seemed to be able to hold conversations about verizon service plans. This review is meant for the Verizon store at Colonie center Colonie NY. I sent a letter of complaint to the correspondence team explaining my horrible treatment in this store by the store assistant manager, Antaeus Crane. I haven't heard a thing from them in response. My visit to this store was on 12/17/17 at approx 4:15pm. He was totally out of control shaming me in front of other customers because I bought my new iPhone 8 from Target instead of giving his store the business. I had gone to Verizon to buy the insurance. He told me I should have gotten Target insurance as long as I bought my phone there. He also told me Verizon wouldn't insure my new phone since I didn't buy it there. Another employee came to my defense and apologized for his bad behavior. Hopefully the complaint team will do their job and contact me as to what was done about their employee that treated me so badly. You can be sure I will NEVER go into this store again. Went to Central Ave., Albany store to upgrade phone today. Was greeted at the door and logged into the system. Was told there was only 2 people ahead of us. Went downhill from there, as we stood there, watching everyone else in the store get waited on (many of which came in after us). Finally, the manager asked if we were waited on, to which we said no. He went into the back room and sent out a young man who obviously was eating (could smell the food on him)! He hurriedly asked what we wanted, and asked to see my drivers license. I told him which phone we wanted, and he went in the back only to return 5 minutes later (still chewing), and told us a a new shipment came in and he would get our phone. Never saw him again! Manager finally asked again if we had been waited on. Mind you, we had been in there well over an hour, got 1 minute of the sales representative time, and were no closer to a new phone. Finally we told them we were going, as the wait was too much. Might as well go to ATT. This store obviously does not need our business. read more

I recently had a terrible experience with TCC which is a subsidiary of Verizon and Stuyvesant Plaza. The salesman actually lied about what these products would cost then said will keep my cost under a certain amount. Week later I was getting my bill from Verizon and my one-time charge is 3 times as much as what he had told me and my monthly charge is 4 times as much as what he told m ine it would be. and because prices were so much more than he had said it would be I tried to return to the items one of which was never opened he charged me $70 restocking fee for the two of them. A week later I went to the Verizon store on Central Avenue 1569 I think was the address. Figured I'd get much more better service because it was a Verizon store. turned out to be just the opposite. The salespeople actually I guess I can't say lie but will not tell you the truth about the product or the cost for these products. I tried to call the salesman three times this past Saturday, he was in the office, but never returned any of my calls. Because he also missed eight at the product and what the cost would be I tried to return them and the girl at the desk told me that is going to get hit with another $70 restocking fee and there's nothing she could do about it. I asked to speak to the manager and she said he was busy. Terrible terrible terrible customer service. I called the customer service line for Verizon and they were great. Beware! Do not change your cable/ internet to this company. I allowed Brittanie from Verizon/Fios to enter my home when she was going door-to-door, mainly because I wanted to see what all the hype was about. That's exactly what it was, hype. The internet service is much slower than Spectrum (Time Warner) it was presented to me that it would be blindingly fast. The cable service is terrible. I specifically wanted certain channels, such as Smithsonian, the Weather Channel and Cooking, among others and was promised it was all included. Outright lie. I have some rinky dink national weather channel that is nothing like the real one. You have to scroll through channels to find what you want, everything comes up, but you have to wait several seconds before the channel comes up, or, even more annoying, to tell you that you don't have it. Worst of all, Brittanie told me that I could stop and start the service, as I would be traveling a lot in the next year and a half. She told me we could do it as often as we wish and there would be no fee. That was the clincher. I just tried to turn off the service for a month and was told there was a $50 fee EACH AND EVERY TIME we turn it off. This was by far the worst consumer decision I have made in decades. When I complained to the service rep, who by the way, took me forever to reach after a frustrating run around, said someone would contact me. Guess what? NO!!! read more
