It's a small place with only three tables and is located in a little strip mall next to a Thai place and a little market liquor store I pick up bread and ice cream from. I called in an order and didn't realize they were closing soon and I told them I was sorry never mind, but they were so kind and said no problem! Picked up our pizza and the lady working there was so sweet! I ordered a small cheese pizza for my growing teenager who wanted pizza after dinner. I can't believe it has taken me this long to order from here but dang we are so glad I did. My kid said it was the best pizza he's ever had. He demolished the entire pizza even the crust which he usually never eats and I was only able to get a bite and a piece of a crust but wow so good!! The sauce was a little sweet which I loved, the cheese was so tasty not greasy and the crust was pillowy and chewy. Delicious. We ordered from this location via Grubhub where they are listed as "Pimp My Pasta" which I confirmed was them based on a call to the location after we received our food. I'm not sure how it even happened, and when I spoke with the restaurant I got the impression they weren't sure how to process the order but didn't seem to think there was an issue. We ordered $50 worth of food. A chicken fettuccine, garlic bread and lasagne. The garlic bread, which was $8, was 2 pieces and when put together shorter and smaller than a McDonald's cheeseburger bun...just the bread. The lasagna, pictured on a regular size dinner plate, was laughable for $16. The container wasn't even full. The chicken fettuccine with chicken and spinach was insulting. It was $23. For 2 ounces of pasta and 5 tiny pieces of chicken (which somehow cost $4 additional...yes for those 5 small pieces of chicken) as well as 3 spinach leaves (which cost .99 extra). My Samsung cell phone is sitting next to the container for scale. My phone is 6.4 inches long...and it's longer than the container. It felt like they used the container they would use for a child sized portion...at adult prices. Honestly that the restaurant even allowed this to leave their establishment thinking this was acceptable is stunning. We suspect this might have been an error by the staff who were working. Somehow. When I called they did seem unsure how to handle processing the order and said this was a new order option the owner had added. I'd be open to speaking with the manager (who was supposed to call us but never did) for an explanation as to what happened. But for now, be warned that the serving sizes are child sized. read more

I love the flavor and ratios of toppings, cheese, and bread. We shared pizzas for a work meeting and now I will just look forward to ordering again and again. Whatever it was, it wasn't fettuccine Alfredo. Penne w/basil and mushrooms, also ordered many times before, was bland. Pasta portions are very noticeably smaller. Upside, the Caesar salad was great. Fried shrimp appetizer was crunchy and tasty, tho be advised it's coconut shrimp. They don't allow special requests when ordering online -- like "Hold the chicken, please " -- so we had to call that in and they were accommodating. However, while they'll charge you $4 extra to ADD chicken to a dish that doesn't come with it, there's no discount if you ask them to HOLD the chicken from a dish that doesn't come with it. Came here on a Wednesday night. The owner was helping me out and he seemed friendly, but something was off. As he was creating my order he said he needed to fix the buttons on the register so he had to manually add the price of my order. So he would look at the menu to confirm the price of what I got. I ordered a slice of pizza and an 8pc wings. When he was charging me he immediately selected the max tip amount before I got a chance to choose. That was the first issue. It has been about one year since i have ordered from Verdugo and oddly enough i ordered the same thing yesterday that i ordered last year: a Chicken, Mushroom pizza with a Cauliflower crust. Plus an order of fries. One of things i do not like about ordering for delivery (and this is not a Verdugo issue but all home deliveries from anywhere) is that the charges are obnoxious! I mean a Pizza and fries once the tax, delivery fee, tip is added on is 38 bucks! (i remember a time when a pizza cost 8 bucks including delivery!) Hey, yes i know that was then and now is now but really: 30-ish bucks more? Yes i could have picked up or not ordered delivery at all but there you have it: they've got us by the seat of our pants. We want convenience, we must pay for it. Take it or leave it. Well today i took it and now i am complaining just so maybe someone involved (specifically Grub Hub) will take it to heart and shave those fees! In any event the big deal is that i wanted a Cauliflower crust which i actually enjoy. I have made them at home and besides saving 100's of calories, a Cauli crust is pretty delicious. The Crust here is i am pretty sure one that comes in frozen...which is a necessity for a pizza house whose crusts are mostly made from flour, yeast, etc. But Verdugo's crust has other than Cauliflower and spices and maybe eggs in it: this crust is probably like the Oprah frozen version as in about 30% cauliflower. I could be wrong but from the taste and texture of the finished product i would say i am right. In any event the finished pie is very good: minimum of sauce, good amount of chicken chunks and cheese and mushrooms. A very delicious, not overly portioned pizza. I enjoyed it. The sauce is very tomatoey and slightly spicy and obviously prepared in house. The cheese tasted like a combo of mozzarella and parmesan and there was just enough of it. Mushroom-wise: there were plenty and obviously pre-sautéed for extra flavor. I ordered the fries well done and crispy and this is how they arrived along with being hot and sparingly salted.
