I've been coming here for over 15 years. Even with the ownership change I continued to support small businesses. I normally get the Armenian pizza and another option. I tried just about every pizza and some of their other dishes. Today, when I called in my order, I was advised they didn't have Margarita Pizza. So I ordered the Alfredo Pizza. When I got there, the girl that took my ordered shrugged her shoulders when I grabbed the menu to point out the Margarita Pizza. Instead of apologizing she shrugged her shoulders and was about to charge me for the small extra jalapeños. Plus the Alfredo Pizza didn't taste right. Either they forgot the Alfredo sauce or didn't put enough. Through the years even Armenian pizza is not as good as it used to be. They had the basil stems on the pizza and the feta cheese was extra wet and less than the usually amount. Overall the service was always a hit or miss since the new ownership. There isnt any consistency so many times I would show up to pick my order up and they would have it wrong or it would not be ready. Verdugo Pizza is a great little spot in Glendale with excellent pies made from fresh ingredients. Everything is cooked to order, so be prepared to wait a bit, but it is worth it. We tried the Verdugo Pizza and the House Special Pizza, and both were really tasty. The Verdugo in particular stood out, the arugula on top added a great pop of flavor and made it feel unique. It is a small restaurant with limited indoor seating, so most people seem to order to-go. That is not a bad thing, just something to keep in mind if you are planning to eat there. On a previous visit we tried the pasta, which was good, but overpriced for the portion or pasta and meat, so I would recommend sticking with the pizza here. Prices in general are a bit on the higher side, but the pizza feels more reasonable, given the quality. Altogether, a nice experience with food that hits the spot. It's a small place with only three tables and is located in a little strip mall next to a Thai place and a little market liquor store I pick up bread and ice cream from. I called in an order and didn't realize they were closing soon and I told them I was sorry never mind, but they were so kind and said no problem! Picked up our pizza and the lady working there was so sweet! I ordered a small cheese pizza for my growing teenager who wanted pizza after dinner. I can't believe it has taken me this long to order from here but dang we are so glad I did. My kid said it was the best pizza he's ever had. He demolished the entire pizza even the crust which he usually never eats and I was only able to get a bite and a piece of a crust but wow so good!! The sauce was a little sweet which I loved, the cheese was so tasty not greasy and the crust was pillowy and chewy. Delicious. We ordered from this location via Grubhub where they are listed as "Pimp My Pasta" which I confirmed was them based on a call to the location after we received our food. I'm not sure how it even happened, and when I spoke with the restaurant I got the impression they weren't sure how to process the order but didn't seem to think there was an issue. We ordered $50 worth of food. A chicken fettuccine, garlic bread and lasagne. The garlic bread, which was $8, was 2 pieces and when put together shorter and smaller than a McDonald's cheeseburger bun...just the bread. The lasagna, pictured on a regular size dinner plate, was laughable for $16. The container wasn't even full. The chicken fettuccine with chicken and spinach was insulting. It was $23. For 2 ounces of pasta and 5 tiny pieces of chicken (which somehow cost $4 additional...yes for those 5 small pieces of chicken) as well as 3 spinach leaves (which cost .99 extra). My Samsung cell phone is sitting next to the container for scale. My phone is 6.4 inches long...and it's longer than the container. It felt like they used the container they would use for a child sized portion...at adult prices. Honestly that the restaurant even allowed this to leave their establishment thinking this was acceptable is stunning. We suspect this might have been an error by the staff who were working. Somehow. When I called they did seem unsure how to handle processing the order and said this was a new order option the owner had added. I'd be open to speaking with the manager (who was supposed to call us but never did) for an explanation as to what happened. But for now, be warned that the serving sizes are child sized. read more

I've never tried this pizza before and I've been seriously living under a rock. I would order this pizza because it's the most delicious pizza with the most delicious bread I've ever had. I love the flavor and ratios of toppings, cheese, and bread. We shared pizzas for a work meeting and now I will just look forward to ordering again and again. The delivery person was extremely kind and the pizza was still hot and fresh when it got to us. Returned to this place we used to love after several months' break (they mysteriously stopped delivering to our address via GrubHub but we finally realized they still do w/DoorDash -- go figure) and were sadly disappointed. Last night, fettuccine Alfredo, which we've ordered dozens of times, was made with some kind of mushroom (!) sauce that did NOT taste like Alfredo. No parmesan flavor at all. Whatever it was, it wasn't fettuccine Alfredo. Penne w/basil and mushrooms, also ordered many times before, was bland. Pasta portions are very noticeably smaller. Upside, the Caesar salad was great. Fried shrimp appetizer was crunchy and tasty, tho be advised it's coconut shrimp. They don't allow special requests when ordering online -- like "Hold the chicken, please " -- so we had to call that in and they were accommodating. However, while they'll charge you $4 extra to ADD chicken to a dish that doesn't come with it, there's no discount if you ask them to HOLD the chicken from a dish that doesn't come with it. Alright, so I finally checked out Verdugo Pizza after hearing everyone in the office rave about it. Gotta say, it lived up to the hype. First off, the crust-man, that thing was just right. Not too doughy, not too thin, and it had that perfect crunch around the edges without feeling like you're chewing cardboard. The sauce had a nice tang, like someone actually put thought into it, not just dumped a can of tomato paste and called it a day. I went with a classic pepperoni pizza to keep it fair. The cheese was gooey without being a greasy mess, and the pepperoni had those crispy little edges that curl up into mini flavor cups. You know what I'm talking about. The place itself? Nothing fancy. Anyway, it's always been pretty good (which is why I've been coming back) but this last time, just ok, kinda dry. Whatever, everyone has a bad pizza making day I guess. Other than that the service has always been good and I feel welcome when I walk in. My main complaint about coming here is the parking lot. It is small and kinda hard to park in. As he was creating my order he said he needed to fix the buttons on the register so he had to manually add the price of my order. So he would look at the menu to confirm the price of what I got. I ordered a slice of pizza and an 8pc wings. When he was charging me he immediately selected the max tip amount before I got a chance to choose. That was the first issue. Hot pizza and fast delivery. I got the Meat Lovers Pizza, the BBQ Chicken Pizza, and the House Specialty Pizza. The BBQ Chicken Pizza and the Meat Lovers were the favs. I'm not sure what makes the House Special Pizza, well, special, because it was pretty disappointing. All the toppings should work together, but maybe it was the sauce? Maybe there was an off balance of chicken and mushroom? Either way, I'll skip that pizza, but luckily, they have more than enough other options and reasonable prices to make that possible. The crust was also a bit unevenly cooked, it was more crisp on the edges with the enter of the pizza being a bit too soft. I was excited to find a local mom and pop pizza store in the neighborhood. Called in to order a cauliflower crust Hawaiian pizza. I replaced the ham with mushroom since I'm vegetarian. When the gentleman who helped place the order told me it's $18, I thought I heard it wrong. After confirming with him I decided to still give it a try to support a small local business. I was super DISAPPOINTED when I saw how tiny the pizza was. For $18 I expected it to be a bit bigger. There was very little pineapples and mushrooms which was ridiculous because they are literally just vegetable ugh! Then I order the turkey sandwhich which comes with all fresh ingredients but is then toasted with all the cold makings on it , that was disappointing. It has been about one year since i have ordered from Verdugo and oddly enough i ordered the same thing yesterday that i ordered last year: a Chicken, Mushroom pizza with a Cauliflower crust. Plus an order of fries. One of things i do not like about ordering for delivery (and this is not a Verdugo issue but all home deliveries from anywhere) is that the charges are obnoxious! I mean a Pizza and fries once the tax, delivery fee, tip is added on is 38 bucks! (i remember a time when a pizza cost 8 bucks including delivery!) Hey, yes i know that was then and now is now but really: 30-ish bucks more? Yes i could have picked up or not ordered delivery at all but there you have it: they've got us by the seat of our pants. We want convenience, we must pay for it. Take it or leave it. Well today i took it and now i am complaining just so maybe someone involved (specifically Grub Hub) will take it to heart and shave those fees! In any event the big deal is that i wanted a Cauliflower crust which i actually enjoy. I have made them at home and besides saving 100's of calories, a Cauli crust is pretty delicious. The Crust here is i am pretty sure one that comes in frozen...which is a necessity for a pizza house whose crusts are mostly made from flour, yeast, etc. But Verdugo's crust has other than Cauliflower and spices and maybe eggs in it: this crust is probably like the Oprah frozen version as in about 30% cauliflower. I could be wrong but from the taste and texture of the finished product i would say i am right. In any event the finished pie is very good: minimum of sauce, good amount of chicken chunks and cheese and mushrooms. A very delicious, not overly portioned pizza. I enjoyed it. The sauce is very tomatoey and slightly spicy and obviously prepared in house. The cheese tasted like a combo of mozzarella and parmesan and there was just enough of it. Mushroom-wise: there were plenty and obviously pre-sautéed for extra flavor. I ordered the fries well done and crispy and this is how they arrived along with being hot and sparingly salted. A very good order, delivered quickly but the fees are killing me! I like Verdugo and i will continue to order from them. Next time i will pick up! Cheers! read more

I got there and my pizza was not ready and it took 45min and I called at 1058am and they open at 11am . So I get there the guys making the pizza on his phone for a good 4min till they notice me the older man didn't even speak English and totally ignored me.
