Corn and Asaparagus getting started on the grill.
Shushanik P.

As we all know every now and then it is essential to be in the arms of nature. Being 4th of July, my son and I decided to go to Verdugo Park and celebrate the Independence Day! So we bought a small grill and went. I haven't been to this beautiful park in probably over 20 years. Why? I don't know. It just happened that way. After carefully circulating the park, we found this nice, corner with lots of picnic tables and benches. It was going to be just us two. We ran into this wonderful, newlywed couple and said hello and wished them Happy 4th. One small conversation led to another and they invited us to join them and have lunch with them. So that was a nice change. They ended up being so social that we forgot that we needed to start our bbq. With that being said, her husband and my son combined both of our foods together and after a lovely meal, music, and conversation we exchanged phone numbers and decided to keep in touch! This is where you say, sometimes people meet by accident. Let fate decide... This park from what I remembered is HUGE, I MEAN HUGE!!! The weather was PERFECT! Sunny skies and so SERENE...in every way. I was kind of surprised that not a lot of people were at the park especially being 4th of July and barbecuing etc... I guess Pandemic shut a lot of people down. In a way it was nice. If you are a person like me; and love trees, grass, greenery, then this is definitely the park for you! There are so many Sycamore trees that one can't count. It is just so beautiful and relaxing. Park is clean with so many trash cans around and I didn't even see any litter anywhere in the park. Some of the amenities that needs to be mentioned are: bathrooms (somewhat clean),skate park, their own bbq grills, baseball field, basketball court, plenty of parking spaces everywhere, children's playground, plenty of picnic tables/benches, walking/hiking trails, and the rest you have to go there and experience the FUN for yourself.:-)) The only thing that was missing was the FIREWORKS! We stayed there until 9:30pm & unfortunately no fireworks:-(( Hopefully, before summer ends we will go back there, and either bbq again, or take some food from home, or just simply go there and be in the arms of nature, relax and find PEACE! Took few pictures and I will post them soon.

Beautiful place with an excellent book store.

Beautiful place where you can walk with your family and relax after hard working week.

Rotary club CultureFest at Verdugo park

I went for the rotary culture fest. The park was a great spot for it. It was clean, shaded and lots of open space. There were other activities going on in addition to the culture fest. I would absolutely return.

I love parks. I spend time in parks with my dog, walking, meandering, having picnics, and watching birds. Serenity and peace are hard to find in a fast place like L.A., and parks provide respite. Verdugo Park is large and spread out. I enjoy the way it has a playground, a basketball court, well kept grounds and facilities, yet still feels wild and wooly and and as though you're in the woods. The sycamore trees are stunning. The birds are in their element. The sky and sun and shade are harmonious. Hushed, undisturbed, soothing, at peace. I love the feeling of parks.

I had a great time doing a photoshoot here. Came on a Friday morning. Beautiful park, hiking, baseball field, picnic tables, basketball, skatepark, playground, they have it all. Don't forget your sunscreen, I got sunburnt. Thank you Verdugo Park. I will be back.

If you like sycamore trees like me you will love this park. This is the perfect place to walk your dog on a warm summer day because there are plenty of mature trees. It is also one of the largest parks in Glendale along with Crescenta Valley Park. There is a skate park, baseball field, little kids area, bathroom and plenty of places to park. It's really close to Glendale Community College as well.

I was a guest at a recent event held at Verdugo Park. The area of the park we were located was clean and big. We had a party tent and catered food. Plenty of picnic tables lined up. They have basketball courts and a stage. Good amount of open space to play. Parking is metered but on weekends it is free.

Had to add this from the taco caterer who made these killer tacos

I used to come here a lot back in the days when I was going to Glendale Community College across the street.... I remember back in high school when the carnival took place here... Damn, I hated The Zipper ride... I came back here recently because of my friends daughter's birthday party.. The park changed a lot since then... They placed a children's playground with sand boxes right beside the basketball court, a skate park for all your skaters out there, added more benches to throw a party in the park... Lots of improvements to road and pavement constructions.. They still have the baseball field on the other side, small trail for hiker fanatics, and the soccer field... Lots of dog lovers walk their best friend along the area to play catch.. Plenty of parking for many visitors.. Be careful if you visit here in the evening other than doing power walks or running, there's a lot of cops strolling by to site you and will kick you out.. . If I still lived in Glendale, my dogs would love to chase squirrels here...

Skate park (well part of it :p)

Love this tucked away park in the La Canada/ Glendale area…read more -Cute dogs and friendly owners -Tennis court. But not lighted :( -A park that actually has lots of shade and you're not going to collapse from the heat. - Park kept clean and is big enough to explore. -Seating available so you have the option to sit. Yay! -Plenty of parking

We went to a fourth birthday party at Dunsmore Park and it was a great place to spend a Sunday…read moreafternoon with several small children. We took two of our own and we all had a lovely time. Parking was easy, in a lot right near the playground. There were a few parties going on but the park was small enough that we had no trouble finding the right one. The park was great, well kept and inviting. Even the bathroom wasn't bad--I generally avoid park bathrooms but had to attend Leo, and this one wasn't disgusting. The playground was nice and our four-year-old Leo B. enjoyed himself running around the play structure. I liked that the party was set up at tables close to the playground, so we didn't have to spend the whole party fighting our child's desire to run and climb. He also liked being at the party, especially when the piñata came out. Our toddler had a good time, too, and took a little nap in his stroller after a walk on the smooth concrete path winding through the park grounds. We live pretty far from La Crescenta, so we won't be spending too much time here, but I really liked Dunsmore Park. It worked well as a party venue and was just an all-around pleasant place for a weekend family outing. We'd make good use of it if we were in the neighborhood.
