A private park at the end of a long street, this place is enclosed by silence and tall trees. A playground, nice lawn, bathrooms, many tables with barbecues and even public outdoor sinks! Very surprised this place exists -- a nice oasis from the rest of the city. Be careful though -- it's so secluded you won't get cell phone service there!

Love this park. Clean, safe and not crowded. It's only drawback, that it has limited seating, so finding a seat might be a hit or miss.

Great park to have a picnic or trip out on shrooms, you feel surrounded by nature in a small area.

Glenoaks park doesn't have cheeseburgers, but there's an in & out off the freeway here so, two birds, one stone and fries on the side. The park is tucked back in the adorable neighborhood and had shade trees, clean bathrooms, grass and a pretty rad playground. Our little lady is too small to really appreciate all that, but she loved getting out of her carseat to crawl around and we were greeted by some friendly residents and their pups while relaxing for a bit. We were told that the neighborhood was lucky to have escaped the threat of a recent fire that burned the hills behind it - whew! So glad to hear! It's a nice place and the people who live there seem to really love it a lot. Thanks for welcoming us for a little break from the asphalt.

When we visited there wasn't a lot of people, but they have a tennis court, a basketball court and a small little playground for kids. They had a few tables around the park. There's not a lot of traffic around the park so it seems safe for your kids if you plan to bring them to play. If you're from around the area and need to take a breather and time to walk, this is a good place to walk around. I saw a few joggers, but it was mostly quiet and hardly anyone around. Since COVID19 a lot of restaurants are not allowing you to dine-in, so this is a good little place to picnic with your friends or family. We ended up staying in the car and parked right by the park. We were in a rush since we came around the holidays, so we could not stay to enjoy it. If I'm ever in the area and need a place to go for a picnic and Eagle Rock isn't allowing dine-in, then I would definitely come back. It's not crowded, it's clean, it looks safe and there's a few benches to hangout. I did not get a chance to check the restrooms, but it did not look bad from the outside view. The grass and trees around the park look well taken care of by the city.

Hidden secret in our own backyard. Bests of all this is free until 10pm daily. Breath taking views…read moreof LA and my fav is the view of a former winery house that is a nature center (museum like with ac). Free parking for about 40 cars. Elevation is over 2700 feet. Able to park near homes but prepared to walk steep uphill. Clean bathrooms. Hiking here is the most popular so can get busy. Trails of all types for beginners, moderate and super hikers level. About 10 miles of hiking available. I love the scenic views of the city/LA. It can get really hot because there is very little shade. Plenty of picnic tables to rent. The ones closest to house is not rentable. Half of the tables are not in the shade. Small amphitheater is there too. Very safe if you visit alone. There are bears, snakes, coyote and small critters. Wilderness park named in honor of George Deukmejian, the 35th Governor of California. Has so much history. Former vineyard and winery. 1885-1890s: French immigrant and winemaker George Le Mesnager purchased acreage in Dunsmore canyon to plant extensive vineyards. The vineyard has 81 grapevines which have been planted since 2004 and are maintained by the Stone Barn Vineyard conservancy which is a part of the historical society of the Crescenta Valley. You can still purchase Stone Barn wine bottles of Chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, and white zin for $10-$20. City of Glendale purchased land to preserve it from developers. 2009 a severe wildfire swept through the terrain, though resilient landmarks like a historic 200-year-old oak tree survived. 2022 historic stone barn reopened to the public as the Stone Barn Nature Center. You can still see the gorgeous vineyards.

They have so much going on that you honestly can't see in a day, even if you try. I was there for a good 3.5 hours and still didn't get to see everything. I packed myself two sandwiches and bottled water, and decided to go and be in the arms of nature. I am so glad that I did. It was AMAZING in every way. Flowers blossom year round, but is more beautiful during Spring time. There is so much to see and every corner is peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing. Love it! Did like 15 minutes of hiking, before it was time to eat. This garden was established back in 1953. They have trails, benches, a gift shop, and a restaurant. Since I had my own lunch, didn't need to eat at their eatery. They also have a snack shop near the entrance that sells snacks/beverages. Admission is $18.00 for adults. Not sure for kids and seniors. Didn't buy anything from anywhere. Ate my own lunch and drank my water. The landscape is huge and the meadows were kept well maintained. If you do a lot of walking, then you need to chill for at least 15 minutes, recharge your own batteries and start moving again. It was a nice way to clear my head. From where I was standing, I saw this cute, small house decorated with lots of pumpkins. Some of the gardens that they have are: a Rose garden, Japanese garden, huge section for festival camellias, native oak trees (that's always beautiful to look at). They also have indoor and outdoor venues that you can hold events such as weddings, meetings, and corporate events. It was a nice way to start my day. I highly recommend Descaneso Gardens to anyone who loves zen, nature tranquility and more. Great place to go on a date, solo, with family and friends. Plenty of parking spaces free of charge!

Everything was cute, festive, and family-friendly, especially for kids. There are plenty of fun spots to take pictures and enjoy the Halloween decorations. We were able to see everything in about an hour and a half. The experience is on the smaller side, and you can see the map in my photos to get an idea of the layout. I paid $29 per ticket on a Tuesday, which felt reasonable. However, weekend tickets are around $50, and personally, I think that's a little too expensive for the size of the experience and what you get to see. Overall, it's a cute Halloween activity for families with kids, especially if you enjoy taking pictures and getting into the Halloween spirit!
