I had went in when they first opened shop and it had only saltwater on the left, now they have expanded the right side of the store to freshwater and I am pretty excited about that. As someone who only works with freshwater, it's really exciting to have a local store instead of supporting big chains like petco and petsmart. I'm really looking forward to the day I get to stop by and choose my betta for my new set up! I also wanted to include that they have a few nano tank setups on display with some cute shrimp and some guppies! They have just about the same inventory as a chain store that you would buy from, if anything, more than that! The bettas were listed as $20 but I'm not sure if that applies to all of them on display. I was a bit sad when I saw them because their tails weren't in the best condition however, this might just be the way they were shipped. Whatever it is, it can be fixed with a bit of love and care!

My first recent try was to go the traditional route - heater, filter, bottles of water conditioner & beneficial bacteria, etc. etc. - when I unexpectedly happened upon an eye-opening You-Tube vid about the Walstad method (less homework & a more natural environment, the way God intended). So I returned all that other gear & am starting from scratch. Fernando eased My initial anxiety arriving as a total tank newbie, and gave Me a tour of the various low-maintenance plants I could start My nitrogen cycling with. Nolan - the Captain of this aquarium supplies ship - answered every one of My questions with patience & grace, did not talk down to Me or make Me feel stupid, and I left feeling happily hopeful that I might actually be successful in creating a fish-friendly safe & healthy environment. The employee at the front greeted me as though he was forced to, which didn't make for a friendly first impression. I looked around the store and found the selection to be fairly basic, while many of the prices were significantly higher than other local fish stores. For example, a skunk cleaner shrimp that typically sells for around $29 was priced at $39 here. I was also surprised to learn that they don't offer any 24hour livestock guarantee. I ended up purchasing some crabs and snails. I should have selected them myself, but the employee picked them for me. When I got home, I discovered that a couple of the hermit crab shells were empty, meaning I had paid for crabs that weren't actually there. Based on my experience, I can't recommend this store. I left feeling disappointed and that I didn't receive good value for what I paid.
