First time here and they have a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables. Staff was nice and helpful. They even have a deli area and it smell so good. The price is a little higher then others. But if you want good quality then come here. It's a little far from us because we came all the way from Philadelphia. We wond to this location because it was a accident on Route 42 and the traffic was so backed up. So we had to get off another exit. I so glad that we found this place. I have been going to this store for the last 7 years, every week never had an issue until today.I had my bag under my arm folded ..like I did every week. pay for my stuff and bagged them .Today the cashier asked to look into my bag and my husband was like that never happen before ,this manager never saw him before came up and said this is the policy ,mine you ,people were at three other cashiers none of them asked to look into anybody's bag. Low prices and good selection of produce. Prickly pears, dragon fruit, Thai chilies, escarole... it's more than just carrots and onions here. Though they have many types onions too. Many things are bagged in quantity, so you might need to share with friends if you don't need 2 large heads of cabbage. But the prices are so good you can afford to share. The deli sells hoagies that are nearly 2 feet long for just $7.99. And they're good. This place stays busy, so give yourself time to wait in line. This is my favorite produce spot! The employees are not warm and fuzzy or anything but they are polite and helpful if you need anything. The prices and quality of the produce keep me coming back. I never have to dig through mounds wilting greens and mushy grapes. They have a very diverse array of produce- from lychees to cassava, jimaca, aloe... just a produce sweet spot. Awesome place tor fruits and vegetables. Minus one star for the parking lot design - always feel like I'm gonna get hit going in or out. But more importantly the produce is super fresh and priced way more reasonably than any supermarket. You get a ton of stuff here for cheap and it's quality. Farm to table fresh. Also a deli inside that sells lunchmeat and hoagies but haven't checked it out yet. Judging from the typical way it's packed I'm assuming it's good. read more

I needed fresh produce yesterday to make my Chicken Escarole Soup and needed to stay close to home so decided to stop in to Verchios's to see if they had what I needed, most importantly the Escarole! Lol. There were absolutely NO PARKING SPOTS available!! Seriously, hubby had to park us in the dirt along a line of other customers who apparently ran into the same problem. Omg, if you think parking in South Philly is bad (like around the Italian Market), well this was worse! My anxiety was so off the charts, I had to close my eyes & start praying bc it was like a death trap pulling in & out with everyone driving at you like you're not even there! Anyway, when you walk in it's like a big cold Wharehouse, including that hard cement floor. In front of you are rows of fresh produce, fruit, herbs and vegetables while to your right is a deli which was packed with ppl lining all the way out door. It smelled really good though. The aisles are a little tight and packed so unless you know where your items are located, you pretty much have to go in each to see what they have. Luckily, I found what I needed and even saw some I would normally grab but being so crowded, it was clearly not a day to take your time...the shoppers & their kids were running around, grabbing & going, lol!! Checkout was surprisingly easy & quick!! No problems at all. Cashiers were very friendly! Prices were pretty decent, especially if you compare to supermarkets! The 9th Street Italian Market is still my favorite and number one place to go (prices, sizes, variety & freshness can't be beat) but if I can't make it over the bridge, I'd definitely come here (on a day the parking lot isn't a mobbed, lol). 4 Stars from me read more

Verchios has the best priced and tasting hoagies. We typically order an Italian and turkey hoagie which is delicious; One hoagie is shareable between Two people. They are steadily busy so ordering ahead is the best option. They are first come, first serve which can get hectic during the busier seasons. On July 23rd, my niece called the Verchio's Washington Township, she placed an order for 6 sandwiches to be picked up on Friday afternoon the 26th, for my father's funeral reception. While she was on the phone the put her on hold at least 3 times one time was at least 20 min. They took payment on the phone on the 23rd, and when someone arrived to pick them up they said they had no such order. She gave them the order/reference number and when she checked her account they had placed the charge. They spent an hour arguing with them over the phone that no such order was ever placed. We had people at home following the funeral, and as if it wasn't a stressful enough day, they were yelling at my niece (which we all heard through the phone) and then her husband took the phone and they proceeded to argue with him. Meanwhile, my son, who was there to get the order was left standing all this time. Finally they made the subs and then charged the order again, so my niece was charged twice. It was such a nightmare to be treated like this when she had all the proper documentation to prove the order. I sincerely doubt we will use them again, or recommend anyone after the treatment we received!!! read more

I love this place! You can get some of the freshest Hoagies around. They are 2 feet long and are only $7.00! They offer some of the freshest produce at very reasonable prices. The deli is about 1/2 hour from me, but it's worth the commute. read more

This place is amazing and a must-stop on my NJ trips. Produce looks great and is plentiful. The prices are amazing compared to the DC area where I live. So much so that if half of what I buy goes bad, I'd still be ahead! I thought I recalled more of some things in a bag but it is still a great deal. I never went to the deli because I am usually in a hurry and there is always a line. There were four cashiers in the produce check out section so there was no wait. The girl who checked me out was good most of the order. She only slammed a few things. My pet peeve is when they are rough with the produce. I don't want to get it home with bruises. This is why I stopped going to my last place. Treat my fruits & veggies delicately! Parking is never a problem. 9 times out of 10 theres a wait when ordering lunch meat or hoagies. With that being said, their lunch meats are very good & fresh- worth the wait! Not like the lunch meat at a supermarket deli. Decided to write this as we just finished one of their Italian hoagies. Delicious, huge and so cheap, only $6.75! Their deli has great prices on lunch meat, cheese and bread (day old bags for $1!). I think the people working in the deli are quick too, I've never waited too long. The produce area has tons of great deals, you just have to be willing to buy bulk. I never think it's too much though. I always go with my mother-in-law and we sometimes split things. They have tons of exotic produce too! The parking lot can be kind of crazy. read more

Deli Meat Ordered 2lbs of Boarshead Maple Honey Turkey. When I notice the counter person was about to slice the end portion of the turkey breast which I did not want. Bringing this to the attention. Was sternly told another one could not be opened until the one open was finished. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong. But if I'm spending my money at least I should be able to purchase what I'm will to buy. I've been a regular weekly person there purchasing the same item and have asked not to have the end portion. It was never a problem. The lunch meat and hoagies are awesome. Very fresh. The hoagies are giant for $7. Pretty much the size of 2 Wawa classic size. They also have home made salads. They used to take phone orders for sandwiches but they weren't the last time I was there. Also the deli often closes an hour before the actual store so be aware. As far as the produce don't buy it way ahead. If you purchase produce make sure it's being used in a day or 2. I usually get a bag of cucumbers for what I'd pay for a single one in Shoprite so I don't complain. My produce actually lasts longer from produce junction but if I'm grabbing hoagies I'll just get my produce from Vericchios also. Glad they actually have keys for the price of the items because I used to be wonder if the cashiers really memorized the prices of all the products. read more

I love verchios and have been a customer for over 15+ years but today I was really dissatisfied with the hoagies. Typically I love the hoagies, amazing price, huge hoagie and great quality! But today I got 2 hoagies for my house and the italian had practically no meat and cheese, very thin hoagie. The quantity is usually better but for The price I cant complain typically. I became a regular here and now it's been over 5 years of me watching this company grow. The quality of produce and deli the best of the best. However if you are looking to get anything from the deli room your in for a long haul. They do not have fast systems in place or employee speed and awareness for there volume. Employees are young and get distracted and like to have conversations instead and make speedy deli service. I don't blame them it's a deli business with young kids. I got a Italian hoagie from here. When I got home I took a bite and it tasted like feint cleaning products. I didn't think anything of it and thought maybe I was going crazy. After another two bites my tongue went numb. When I called they offered another hoagie. Fine whatever. My wife works down the street and could pick one up after work. They refused. They made me bring it 25minutes back to them after I told them my drive time. I even offered to send a time stamped picture to prove the hoagie wasn't eaten. I just got my refund of $7.50 and didn't want another hoagie (after I spent that in gas to get there and back). Went to Verchios on Thursday. The older lady at the check out was miserable. She never smiled or spoke. The produce is inexpensive but you have to eat it right away or it will be rotten. It is on the verge of spoiling, that is why they are able to sell it at the inexpensive prices. read more

I wish I could figure out how to give 4 1/2 stars...since nobody's perfect lol! But this place is pretty close. Good in-season veggie/fruit selection, and their hoagies are simply amazing and always fresh. And cheap on top of that - around $7, they're totally worth it. We love them!!! They also carry pumpkins and ghores and hay for fall decorating, and pine trees around Christmas. The deli line usually drives me crazy, but to their credit they figured out a system to speed things somewhat...just try to avoid them on a Saturday.
