First...the two less than stellar reviews are just strange and out of touch with reality. This place is a hidden gem with superb coffee, great ambiance, friendly service and wonderful attention to the small details. This is our 2nd trip here, being from out of town. We've had coffee all over the country and internationally, including Seattle, Portland (ME and WA), NYC, Chicago, and London. Verb holds its own with some of the best on all counts of what makes a great coffee spot Locally roasted coffee and homemade specialty syrups often make all the difference, and Verb have executed on both. Saw this coffee shop and had to make a stop. Of the eleven patrons inside when I arrived, none were on their laptops. The wifi must be great. I guess this is a nice spot to get it off the house while working. I like the soft music that was being played it wouldn't take your mind away from your work. I thought I would have the Apple Cider or the Red Velvet Latte. But both were seasonal items that are no longer being served. They said they like to mix it up. New offerings begin February 1. I left with a Chai Latte that was okay. For the price, I would have expected a medium sized cup vs the small one that I received. What a cute place! They are conveniently located off of I85 which was great, but have to take a little back road to access it. It was busy when I got there, and parking is limited. Speaking of limited, seating isn't abundant either but I'm sure sufficient for regular traffic. Peak hours or busy days could be a challenge if you're dining in. My latte and avocado toast was decadent. Soooo freakin good. Oh and I thought a nice and considerate touch in the restroom was the changing table for parents, which I'm sure is very appreciated to those patrons with little ones. In need of a caffeine boost amid a day of travel, we stopped at Verb on our way back from Charlotte. It's a bright space with friendly staff and a good amount of seating. They roast their own beans (available for purchase) and sell a few baked goods and clothing items too. I went with one of their seasonal offerings, the Gilberts Girl, which was essentially a carrot cake latte (espresso, milk, carrot and ginger syrup, cream cheese cold foam). The carrot flavor proved subtle, and the foam was delicious. I don't know when we'll be back in this area again, but I'll keep this place in mind for future visits. For those more proximate to Concord, if you want coffee made with care sans snootiness, give Verb your action. read more

The inside of the cafe is cute, I love it when cafes have comfy furniture. It makes the cafe more welcoming. I don't usually prefer matcha but the black sesame matcha was really good. The latte was nothing special, but still decent. We also ordered 2 waffles but one of them had hand sanitizer taste in every other bite. Might have been partially our fault for ordering them before realizing they were a couple minutes from closing and they just cleaned/wiped the waffle machine (maybe). On that note, the waffle without the sanitizer taste I enjoyed! The batter is different from your average waffle, less dry. More cakey. The lady at the register was nice and reassured us it's no problem we're ordering when they're about to close. Id love to come back hopefully on a day where they aren't about to close. read more

This place was an amazing experience from the moment I walked in. Decided to try a new coffee place with my bestie, and we were immediately warmly greeted when we walked in. We were given plenty of time to look over the menu, it's hard to choose because there are so many yummy options!!! She told me the most popular options and her faves, so that's what I got and I was totally impressed. The decor of the place is very clean, crisp, relaxing. There are white walls, lots of light wood, beautiful green plants everywhere. It's a place you want to spend time, not a place you want to rush out of. My friend and I stayed for a long time and enjoyed every bit of the place...the food, the drinks, the ambience. The bathroom was clean and so was the eating and drinking areas. Lots of places to sit both inside and outside. Great lighting and again, very soothing/non-overwhelming decor throughout. The customer service was lovely, very kind people. I was really happy to hear about another independent coffee shop in our Charlotte suburb. I honestly never would have found it had a friend not told me about it. It's tucked away in what is, to me at least, a sort of awkward location. I met a friend there at 10 am on a weekday, and the place was positively hopping! I snagged one of only two parking spaces out of what is ample parking. The crowd seemed to be mostly young people (college age)--I saw a lot of backpacks and annotating of textbooks. There were also some 30ish people working on their laptops. So that's a snapshot of the clientele. The staff was sweet: patient and helpful when I said I'd never been in. I interacted with three different employees between my order, delivery of my order, and asking a question about my coffee. They were all kind and plain adorable! Okay, the fly in the ointment is I didn't like my muffin. I ordered a banana chocolate chip muffin. It had mere flecks of chocolate in it. I couldn't taste the chocolate at all. That was quite disappointing. The muffin was a wee bit on the dry side. Consequently, I only ate about a fourth of it. My coffee, on the other hand, was yummy, and actually tasted like coffee. (I'm looking at you, major coffee retailers.) The acoustics were a little loud for conversation. That's a problem that will be difficult to fix in this particular building, though. Came here in the afternoon because I needed to take call and I was on the highway. I was surprised at how many people were there lol. Loved the amount of natural light inside! It is a bit tucked away so you may have to put it in your maps to see exactly how to get there. There was only one person working, which was fine, there wasn't a line while I was there but may be something you want to consider if you're going during peak hours. They have little bar seats by the window, that I sat at, that had plugs so if you're coming to get some work don't then this is perfect! I ended up getting an oat milk latte, I asked if they had any sugar free syrup and they didn't so I just got honey. I was a little surprised that they didn't even have a simple vanilla SF. Aaaaamazing coffee!! Truly one of the best! And the food is also top-notch! Verb is not my favorite place to work, though, for a few reasons. The chairs are not super comfortable and there is only one sofa option. Understandable, as it's a small place, but it would be nice to have more comfortable seating (maybe some cushions on the chairs would be a good start). The main issue I have with the accommodations, however, is the way the sun beats down in the afternoon, making it hard to see my computer screen. It would be very simple to purchase some shades/blinds for the huge windows so it would be easier to work in the afternoons. The coffee makes up for the star I would otherwise be tempted to remove. If you like the local coffee shop aesthetic along with unique flavors then you will enjoy this. They sell local items like matcha and tea. Their bakery items may seem like the same from other shops but they don't taste it. It's fresh and you can tell they make them day of. I tried their lemon loaf bread which was huge by the way. It had great lemon flavor and the perfect consistency. I paired it with an iced latte with their maple bourbon syrup and caramel. I usually prefer a little bit more flavoring in my syrup but not too sweet and their syrups are light on the sweetness. Overall we enjoyed this cute shop and what it has to offer. read more

So the shop itself was very quaint and welcoming. However, it is not in the greatest location and the parking lot could use an update. They offer a couple couches and several 2-person tables. I must say the chairs were pretty comfortable The staff was small but friendly. This shop is family friendly. I was very happy to learn that this is one of the few coffee shops that serves actual breakfast foods (more than pastries). It took a while to get our drink and food orders. Verb is a fairly new and modern-themed coffee shop. I liked that there were tons of windows, comfy seating, and plants! It's a little difficult to find, but there are signs and plenty of parking once you get there. The barista was friendly and gave us some recommendations since it was our first time there. I love trying out lots of different coffee shops, but neither my boyfriend or I were really wowed by their coffee or other drinks. Tried this place for the first time today and will definitely be back! I had the red velvet latte which, I was hesitant about because I don't like sweet. Much to my surprise it was perfect. Not too sweet and no added sugars or dyes. I also had the breakfast burrito which was WAY better than anticipated! They make them in house fresh with perfectly cooked thick cut bacon. 10/10! I met a friend at Verb for coffee and not only did I have great company and a delicious blueberry muffin, but I met some of the most friendly and inviting people working at Verb. Cameron (one of the baristas) gave me a coffee lesson which explained why dark roast coffee sometimes taste bitter, then he introduced me to a medium roast Guatemalan blend that was EXCEPTIONAL! He made a hot fresh pot and that blend was in the top five best cups of coffee I've ever had. Not to name a brand but the "Green Lady" can't hold a candle to Verbs coffee. Cameron and Danielle were behind the counter making cups of magic while greeting customers with warm personalities and sunshine smiles. I had the pleasure of meeting Hollie who was one of the owners; she had a sweet, calm personality and I appreciated that she was generally concerned about 100% customer satisfaction. What I love about Hollie and her staff was that there was a mutual respect for each other and everyone seemed happy to be here. Besides the great staff, there were several things that stood out at Verb and that was the peaceful atmosphere, the hot fresh coffee, and how immaculately clean the bathroom was. My wife loves coffee and trying new coffee shops. So we checked out this place as she normally passes it on her way to work. While you can easily see it from the road, it does take a few turns through a little neighborhood to reach it. Yet, there is plenty of parking once ypu get there. The actually shop is not big as you have about six little seating areas including two couches. They do offer three more seating areas outside. While I'm not a big coffee person, I do love apple cider and they had an apple cider Chai on the menu. It was very good. I also order the eggs and hash. It was a bit on the small size yet good. It was a perfectly executed latte with all the right amounts of expresso flavor, milk and sweet/flavor. Atmosphere It looks a little unassuming from the outside because of the location but inside it is very cute!! Modern, clean, cute and bright. Food I was pleasantly surprised by the food menu. They have waffles, breakfast sandwiches, bowls and a seasonal burrito. They also had a few bakery items as well.
