Lavender Orange Blossom latte
Trevor W.

First...the two less than stellar reviews are just strange and out of touch with reality. This place is a hidden gem with superb coffee, great ambiance, friendly service and wonderful attention to the small details. This is our 2nd trip here, being from out of town. We've had coffee all over the country and internationally, including Seattle, Portland (ME and WA), NYC, Chicago, and London. Verb holds its own with some of the best on all counts of what makes a great coffee spot Locally roasted coffee and homemade specialty syrups often make all the difference, and Verb have executed on both. Have not tried the food, but it looks great and another great selling point for when I do need both. If I lived nearby, this would be my regular spot.

Saw this coffee shop and had to make a stop. Of the eleven patrons inside when I arrived, none were on their laptops. The wifi must be great. I guess this is a nice spot to get it off the house while working. I like the soft music that was being played it wouldn't take your mind away from your work. I thought I would have the Apple Cider or the Red Velvet Latte. But both were seasonal items that are no longer being served. They said they like to mix it up. New offerings begin February 1. I left with a Chai Latte that was okay. For the price, I would have expected a medium sized cup vs the small one that I received. I am not that into coffee or lattes but the Red Velvet was tempting and it's what he me stop in.

Concord does not have many great breakfast places, but Verb is IT! Verb is like the neighborhood cafe where you can have a great breakfast and coffee to start your day. Bring your laptop and send those emails out on their comfy couches! The menu is small, but large in size and taste. My go to is the sunny side up bowl with avocados, pickled onions, potatoes, salad and this dressing they use Currently, tasting all the lattes on the summer menu. The one pictured is my fav

What a cute place! They are conveniently located off of I85 which was great, but have to take a little back road to access it. It was busy when I got there, and parking is limited. Speaking of limited, seating isn't abundant either but I'm sure sufficient for regular traffic. Peak hours or busy days could be a challenge if you're dining in. My latte and avocado toast was decadent. Soooo freakin good. Oh and I thought a nice and considerate touch in the restroom was the changing table for parents, which I'm sure is very appreciated to those patrons with little ones. I'll absolutely be back!

What a cute little gem! Stopped here on the way back from the airport and enjoyed an early morning coffee with a pump or orange syrup and it was delicious. Such an unexpected/unassuming place but with plenty of cozy seating, limited baked goods/breakfast sandwich offerings, and a little bit of merch. Friendly and fast service, standard pricing, great quality coffee and value here. Great place to break up the drive between cities. @azfitfoodfun

Gilberts Girl latte

In need of a caffeine boost amid a day of travel, we stopped at Verb on our way back from Charlotte. It's a bright space with friendly staff and a good amount of seating. They roast their own beans (available for purchase) and sell a few baked goods and clothing items too. I went with one of their seasonal offerings, the Gilberts Girl, which was essentially a carrot cake latte (espresso, milk, carrot and ginger syrup, cream cheese cold foam). The carrot flavor proved subtle, and the foam was delicious. I don't know when we'll be back in this area again, but I'll keep this place in mind for future visits. For those more proximate to Concord, if you want coffee made with care sans snootiness, give Verb your action.

Black Sesame Matcha (right) & Maple Spiced Latte (left)

The inside of the cafe is cute, I love it when cafes have comfy furniture. It makes the cafe more welcoming. I don't usually prefer matcha but the black sesame matcha was really good. The latte was nothing special, but still decent. We also ordered 2 waffles but one of them had hand sanitizer taste in every other bite. Might have been partially our fault for ordering them before realizing they were a couple minutes from closing and they just cleaned/wiped the waffle machine (maybe). On that note, the waffle without the sanitizer taste I enjoyed! The batter is different from your average waffle, less dry. More cakey. The lady at the register was nice and reassured us it's no problem we're ordering when they're about to close. Id love to come back hopefully on a day where they aren't about to close.

This is the menu! Lots of yummy options!!!!! House-made syrups!!!! The maple butter was phenomenal! I had the breakfast burrito, so tasty!!!

This place was an amazing experience from the moment I walked in. Decided to try a new coffee place with my bestie, and we were immediately warmly greeted when we walked in. We were given plenty of time to look over the menu, it's hard to choose because there are so many yummy options!!! My friend ordered a chai latte and a sandwich that had goat cheese, and I ordered a maple butter hot coffee and the breakfast burrito. Everything was made FRESH, everything was absolutely delicious. I wish I would have taken pics, because my coffee was stunning!!!! It has a little design in it!!!! The very kind lady at the counter helped me order, because I couldn't decide. She told me the most popular options and her faves, so that's what I got and I was totally impressed. The decor of the place is very clean, crisp, relaxing. There are white walls, lots of light wood, beautiful green plants everywhere. It's a place you want to spend time, not a place you want to rush out of. My friend and I stayed for a long time and enjoyed every bit of the place...the food, the drinks, the ambience. The bathroom was clean and so was the eating and drinking areas. Lots of places to sit both inside and outside. Great lighting and again, very soothing/non-overwhelming decor throughout. The customer service was lovely, very kind people. I could tell also that there were tons of regulars coming in, and that's when you know a place is good!!!! When people can't help but come back again and again. Pricing was very affordable for the amazing quality of everything, I will be back! Thank you!

Latte and chocolate banana muffin

I was really happy to hear about another independent coffee shop in our Charlotte suburb. I honestly never would have found it had a friend not told me about it. It's tucked away in what is, to me at least, a sort of awkward location. I met a friend there at 10 am on a weekday, and the place was positively hopping! I snagged one of only two parking spaces out of what is ample parking. The crowd seemed to be mostly young people (college age)--I saw a lot of backpacks and annotating of textbooks. There were also some 30ish people working on their laptops. So that's a snapshot of the clientele. The staff was sweet: patient and helpful when I said I'd never been in. I interacted with three different employees between my order, delivery of my order, and asking a question about my coffee. They were all kind and plain adorable! Okay, the fly in the ointment is I didn't like my muffin. I ordered a banana chocolate chip muffin. It had mere flecks of chocolate in it. I couldn't taste the chocolate at all. That was quite disappointing. The muffin was a wee bit on the dry side. Consequently, I only ate about a fourth of it. My coffee, on the other hand, was yummy, and actually tasted like coffee. (I'm looking at you, major coffee retailers.) The acoustics were a little loud for conversation. That's a problem that will be difficult to fix in this particular building, though. I considered going outside with my friend but then saw there wasn't outdoor seating. Bummer. Overall, fun experience. I'd go back.

Honey oat milk latte

Came here in the afternoon because I needed to take call and I was on the highway. I was surprised at how many people were there lol. Loved the amount of natural light inside! It is a bit tucked away so you may have to put it in your maps to see exactly how to get there. There was only one person working, which was fine, there wasn't a line while I was there but may be something you want to consider if you're going during peak hours. They have little bar seats by the window, that I sat at, that had plugs so if you're coming to get some work don't then this is perfect! I ended up getting an oat milk latte, I asked if they had any sugar free syrup and they didn't so I just got honey. I was a little surprised that they didn't even have a simple vanilla SF. It was pretty decent with the honey, but I would like to go back and try their seasonal flavors soon!

I stopped by Verb to grab coffee on the way ohf of town. I was excited but didn't last super long. I tried the cold brew with maple butter syrup. The coffee was pretty good but all in it was almost $8, which is fine but they didn't even fill my cup! Disappointed and for the price I expect a full cup.

Came here on a recommendation from a coworker, since I'm out of town, and it couldn't have been better! I needed a chill spot to work, and this was great! The girl who took my order answered all my (really dumb) questions very nicely, and was very customer service-oriented. I ordered a tea because it was afternoon and I'm an old man, and it was still really good! Definitely will need to come back!

BEC
Mateo M.

Reasonable prices and a relaxed vibe with great service. Can't ask for more than that from a coffee shop. I would highly recommend coming here over the Starbucks just down the road. I had an ice latte and a BEC sandwich. The friendly folks behind the counter even brought both items to my table where I sat down to work for a couple hours. The BEC was simple yet tasty and filling, and the coffee was a good balance of cold milk and espresso.

First the Coffee was great. They use Prophet a brand based out of South Carolina and we both loved that we could actually TASTE the coffee. We ordered two different types of lattes off of the specials/seasonal drinks and both were good. I got the Red Velvet and he go the Orange Chai. One thing to note their sizes are a little on the smaller side but their prices are great so we ended up getting another coffee for the road. Service- AMAZING Coffee - AMAZING Vibe - Vintage love.

The "thrift store" had a baby gap hoodie "on sale" for $20 which is insane when brand new in much better condition it's not much more. They even had a Carhartt jacket marked $400! That's just nonsense. And maybe it's known by those who frequent this spot but the store is 99% clothing not much else. (Few books maybe) The young lady who made our drinks was friendly but when I asked about sizes and emphasized the large cup on the shelf she said nothing and I was handed a 6oz ish tiny latte that was only "okay" flavor wise. The americano my husband ordered was decent though he asked for hot and was given iced. It was just a disappointment as a whole and we won't return. Onward to better local options for us.

They prioritize drive through which leaves customers that come in to wait a minimum of 10-15 minutes. As someone who works in customer service and has been a coffee barista as well this is just unacceptable. Also, they don't do drinks in order from which the customer arrives. So no only do we have to wait but see people who came after us getting their drink making us think they lost ours that we've been waiting 10+ minutes to get. The staff also stop and have conversation about bras mid rush which is just bizarre to me. Super unprofessional, except for one girl that works in there all the rest don't give a shit about time or even bother going out of their way to make you feel like your drink is coming. If you want your drink made faster - definitely go through the drive-through. Or don't stop at this Starbucks at all. They like to keep it filthy on the inside anyways to try to keep people from coming in. (just my assumption.) and I'm sure they wonder why they never get tips. ‍ honestly in my opinion I think it's mostly management's fault, doesn't seem like they have a manager there ever making sure that they're doing their job right and efficiently. Worst Starbucks I've ever been to in my life. And I've been all around the country.
