Decided to try this coffee shop out after a recommendation from a friend. It's located right down the street from my job. Came around 9 am. on a Wednesday, and it was not busy. Parking is very small with about 5 spaces to choose from. I ordered a Hazelnut iced latte with a double espresso shot. It was definitely strong, but I wish it had more flavor. Either way, it was very tasty, and I loved it. I ordered their spinach and Swiss quiche, which was DELICIOUS! & Only for $5, YES, PLEASE! I will definitely be coming back to try out other coffees and pastries. I recommend this little mom and pop coffee shop.

Iced Matcha with oat milk

The Aesthetic: This spot feels very homey and cozy, just how you want a neighborhood coffee shop to feel. It has a DIY, artsy look and attracts that creative crowd. The Price: It is the average cost of coffee, tea, and pastries in CLT, not overly expensive and it won't break the bank. The Value: I feel like I get good quality food and drinks for the price, you get what you pay for here, and the drinks are absolutely delicious. The Parking: It's a little sparse if it's busy, you may need to plan to park nearby. The lot is small and can get crowded quickly. My Order: My order is the iced matcha latte with oat milk, it's one of the best I've had in the city. They also have yummy breakfast sammies. The Conclusion: It's on my route, so I'll frequent this cafe. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for great coffee and friendly service!

Early afternoon and my wife would like a coffee, so we wandered to the Central Coffee Company. I huge selection of caffeinated and non-caffeinated options plus pastries and bagels. I stood in the queue which moved quickly enough and ordered the latte. It was prepared and called out a few minutes later. Very firm foam as you can see in the picture. Delicious rich coffee, but perhaps too much (chicory?) for my taste. Comfy spot with lots of places to sit and power away with the laptop. And a nice urn of ice water ready to go. The staff are very friendly and accommodating here. It is a calming and small cafe that you can get work done or catch up with a friend. I haven't tried the food, but definitely want to try the next time I come and dine in. I got the 16 oz latte with 1 pump of lavender vanilla and 1 pump of white chocolate syrup, a tasty combination for those who have a sweet tooth.

Came in here with a friend this morning and enjoyed every bit of this small, eclectic cafe. They have a variety of breakfast items, including vegan zucchini bread and quiche. The customer service was great. Everyone is so friendly and they ensure to get your food and drink out quickly. I enjoyed the ham and pepper quiche with an iced latte with brown sugar cinnamon and caramel. I'm so glad we tried this cafe today. It's in a great area and the coffee was delicious!

First they only allow one person at a time into coffee shop!! If there would have been a line I would have not bothered. I ordered chai latte with unsweetened almond milk. It was very good!! I wanted a scone but the were out so I decided to try vegan zucchini bread. It was very tasty a little on the dry side. Would be nice to revisit after this CV Craziness. Also they do not take cash!!!

I stopped by here earlier yesterday morning with my wife for our morning coffee. We decided to head to Central Coffee Company because we were hitting up all of the highly rated coffee shops near where we were staying for the week. Getting to Central Coffee was sort of a pain as were were driving down Central Ave and there was a no left turn sign to get onto Louise and so we ended up making a huge loop. Once we did arrive we easily found the last parking spot available in the lot and headed in. The inside of this place was cozy and they had two workers working with a chalkboard menu behind them. For my coffee on this day I decided to go with a 20 oz latte while my wife went with a drip coffee. Not only was the drip coffee some of the most reasonably priced that I had seen in the area, my wife also got the choice between a regular roast and a dark roast for which she chose dark. After only a short wait we had our drinks and were on our way home. Once my drink had cooled enough I was able to start drinking it. The whole milk in it was nice and the coffee was rich and strong enough that it easily cut through the milk. My wife also enjoyed the dark and rich flavor of her coffee. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our coffees here, so why not?

I know this is a coffee shop, but I'm just not a big coffee drinker. This is located right off of Central and it's pretty easy to get to even though the traffic in the area at certain times get's crazy. In addition to coffee they offer many in-house baked goods, like muffins, pound cake, scones, quiche, pie, etc. The baked goods are really good, my favorites are the glorious morning muffins, vegan zucchini bread, and the pound cake which are all amazing and I just love stopping in for a treat as the staff here are always super cool. This is also a popular spot for just hanging out.

Central coffee is great. We've been coming here regularly for a long time and it's simply the best coffee around. We went to their Camden location the most due to proximity, but they're closing it down due to land lord rental increases of 40%... can't really blame them. Their food is also really good, specifically their Ham & Pepper Quiche (see pictures below). They have very friendly staff with a nice rewards program as well. Parking can definitely be a pain, but it's located right on Camden so it's not a huge shocker. There's always places to sit, so it's great for a work meeting/coffee, as they even have a separate room with doors that close. Overall, great local coffee spot.

Review for Amélie's French Bakery & Café…read more As a transplant from the West Coast--specifically San Francisco, where high-quality bakeries and true French pâtisseries are plentiful--I was genuinely excited to try Amélie's after moving to Charlotte. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing, and after giving it more than one chance, it's simply not a place I plan to return to. The concept feels more like a themed destination than a serious bakery. The interior is whimsical and eye-catching, with decorative elements like a faux Eiffel Tower, which clearly appeals to visitors looking for a fun atmosphere. However, if you've spent time in authentic French cafés or bistros, you know the real charm is understated elegance--wood, mirrors, tile, and craftsmanship. This felt more theatrical than authentic. Where it fell short for me was the food. For a place calling itself a French bakery and pâtisserie, the absence of classic laminated pastries was surprising. I was expecting staples like Napoleons, kouign-amann, or beautifully executed croissants. What I found instead were pastries that looked average and lacked the refinement and technique you'd expect from a true pâtisserie. On my visits, I tried: * A leek soup that was supposed to be cream-based but tasted thin and under-seasoned--more like warm vegetable water than a properly developed soup. * A baguette sandwich with fig, Brie, and apple that sounded promising but was poorly executed. The bread was overly hard, and the balance of ingredients felt off, making the sandwich less enjoyable than expected. I gave Amélie's two chances, hoping the second visit would change my impression. It didn't. To be fair, the café clearly has a loyal following and works well as a social or casual gathering spot. But if you're specifically looking for high-quality French pastries or refined bakery craftsmanship, there are stronger options in the Charlotte area. Personally, I'd recommend: * Renaissance Patisserie for more traditional European-style pastries * Paris Baguette at Rea Farms for consistency and better execution * Or trusted local favorites closer to home Bottom line: Fun atmosphere, but the food didn't meet expectations for a French bakery. After multiple visits, it's a pass for me.

The area was clean and the cute interior makes for a good social media photo op. The menu has good variety and explorative flavors that encourages repeat visits. I got a Mango Milk Tea and was not disappointed. It gave a Mango Lassi vibe and was very refreshing. My only downside was the bottom of the drink tasted gritty and had a white residue left at the bottom. Also, I initially wanted the drink with light ice and this was my first encounter at a shop that charges extra for light ice (45 cents). Not a huge deal and I understand that companies incur more costs for light ice or no ice. Maybe I could justify the additional charge for getting the drink without ice, but I still wanted ice---just not a lot of it. I just would've like to have been told about it or seen some signage about the additional charge since the toppings and other add ons are listed out. I could've missed where it was listed out, but I don't think I saw anything written out. Nonetheless, after a few healthy gulps, I was sad that the drink was gone. I would come back to try other items.
