Kramer Subaru - My new Subaru Crosstrek

    Kramer Subaru

I went on a road trip. A looooong road trip. I calculated an estimated 8,300 miles. After it was…read moreover I learned from my odometer it was 9,801 miles. In the initial planning stages, I knew based on the mileage on my 2022 Subaru that I'd need an oil change somewhere around North Dakota or Montana. I looked up Subaru dealerships along Interstate-90 in those states. I decided on Kramer Subaru based on nothing but the mileage on my odometer and the distance I calculated traveled during my road trip. While spending the night in a motel in Fargo, ND, I called Kramer Subaru and verified that I could pop in for an oil change the next day. The person who answered said it would be best to make an appointment, but I told them I couldn't because I didn't know what time I'd be arriving. The next morning I drove through freezing rain on the interstate for hours, a few times having to slow down to 35 mpg just to keep from spinning out on the ice on the road. When I arrived at Kramer Subaru my car was covered in ice. I told them a bit of my story. Road trip to Seattle (to start with) and that I'd just driven in from Fargo. They seemed a bit perplexed, and the service employee who helped me (Michael) said they were supposed to have an insurance specialist drive in from Fargo that morning, but he called and said he couldn't make it because the roads were too icy. I wanted to ask if he was not driving a Subaru, but I refrained. Kramer Subaru was amazing. Their service was super-quick for a pop in, and they were exceptionally helpful, even looking up the weather westward for me and giving me tips for driving into Montana. The price for the oil change was less than what I used to pay for oil changes on my old VW Passat 4-Motion. If I'm ever in Mandan, ND again, I'd go back to Kramer Subaru for sure...but since I never will be, I can at least leave this review in gratitude for a great experience.

My daughter was traveling across the country when her car broke down in the Dakotas. It was a mess. The head gasket went, and the engine was damaged. Due to the warranty my daughter went ahead with the repairs, but it was a waiting game because of the extent, and my daughter had to be at a job in Wyoming. The manager Brad Williams, and his crew helped my daughter, and me every step of the way. Calls were returned promptly. Clear communication was given. I just can't thank Brad, and his staff enough for helping my daughter out of a very tough jam that could have been made worse, but instead went as smoothly as possible thanks to this exceptional staff.

They went over and beyond to get my business. They did videos. They drove it and showed me that in a video. They took photos. They emailed and talked to my wife and I about a purchase. We chose not to buy from them, but it had nothing to do with the business or the people who work there. It came down to the seller who consigned with them. Him misplacing the VIN on his vehicle was a red flag for us and we do not understand how you lose a VIN Tag on such an expensive rebuild of a nice truck.

They even did a video for me and walked around the car. Not one time did they mention any issues with the car. Not in the video not in the Ebay ad. When the car gets here it was a piece of junk. Paint was flawed in many places, I had to repaint almost all the panels. The car had no power, it started and ran but that's about it. The chrome was pitted on the door handles and wind wings. The chrome trim on the car had dents and dings and I had to replace 5 or 6 pieces around the car. It leaked about a quart of oil every 3 days when I got it. The glove box was empty just a hole, Gas gauge didn't work, blinkers didn't work, Dome light did not work, power brakes did not work and speedometer did not work. Replaced Carb, Distributor, Radiator & Fans, Gas tank Gauge, Door handles, speedometer, antenna, power brake booster, glove box, stereo, speakers all rubber seals for doors and trunk, had to touch up paint on most panels and color sand and buff the entire car. I've got a few hundred hours of my time making this car what it should have been when I bought it. I called them when the car arrived and told them about the issues and they said what did you expect a 70K car. Well I paid 40K for it and I expected a very nice car for that money and it was a piece of junk. It looked great from 10 feet away in pics and the video was good because they avoided showing the issues on camera. They did not mention ANY, NOT 1 single issue with the car.
