We didn't get to eat our BBQ on the spot, we took it home to eat after a long drive home. Even after driving several hours we made it home to settle down to eat our dinner, it was all so good, the Brisket was so tender mixed with the vegetables, it was an incredible burst of delicious flavors in every bit. The cornbread was sweet and spicy, an incredible partner to the Brisket sandwich. All in all, we had a terrific meal and hope to return the next time we are in the neighborhood. The homemade onion rings were the highlight of the meal - it is hard to find handmade onion rings and especially ones with just the right amount of batter (sometimes they seem to be in armor plate). I definitely dug my fish tacos and fried zucchini fries. The fish tacos was definitely not thin piece of fish, but a nice thicker cut, and plated nicely with fresh salsa on top. The fried zucchini fries were also similarly thicker cut which I honestly didn't think would work. I would have thought that with a thicker cut, the zucchini would have required a longer cook time in the oil that would have made the exterior just a tad overdone. To my surprise, both the fish and zucchini were not overdone, and instead just perfect. A nice sprinkle of parmesan cheese added a needed salty profile to the zucchini. As a true roadside shack, there is seating outdoors on old school long wooden picnic tables. I visited after peak lunch time so there was plenty of seating which made my experience pleasant. I sure hope these guys stick around for my next trip up to Maine.
