Kevin McAlister cheese pizza to go reheated at home

Large variety of pizzas with fun names. Wait for to go pizza was about an hour, but we just walked around and sat in benches by the water behind the restaurant. When I picked up my pizza wait was hour and a half to go, so plan ahead. This was Pumpkinfest weekend so maybe that is why. Few parking spots in front of the store but there is street parking and the large public lot behind by the watercor by the bank businesses. They had a large list of craft beers in cans. There is a deck outside to eat pizza as well.

Oysterhead Pizza Company is a small, wood-fired pizza shop located in downtown Damariscotta. On a side street, you'll find a dedicated parking area with a few spaces. Outside, you'll find a nice seating area for when the weather is nice. When you walk through the doors, you're greeted with a welcoming smoky, fireplace smell that serves as a reminder that you're about to eat some deliciouswood-fired pizza. Inside, the lighting is warm. The seating area is small, but it's cozy. The staff is very friendly and quick to make recommendations for drinks and pizza. They do have slices at the counter, but I definitely recommend waiting for a fresh pie. During our visit, I ordered two small pizzas: the Johnny Fontane and the OPC Margherita pizza. My wife went with the Lisa Simpson (vegan pizza). While waiting for the pizza, I enjoyed a tasty beer from a Maine craft brewery. There are a number of local craft beers available, along with ciders, non-alcoholic beers, and sodas. The pizza looked incredible when it came to our table. The Johnny Fontane was colorful and vibrant. It had a pleasant spice from the fresh jalapenos which paired well with the sweetness of the sauce. The base of the pizza was perfectly crisp and thin. The crust was fluffy, light, and airy. I feel like I could eat a ton of this pizza without filling up because of the lightness of the dough. The Lisa Simpson was chock full of fresh ingredients with a very tasty sauce and a lovely seasoning spread throughout (but most noticeable when eating the crust). The kale was prepared perfectly: not soggy and not burned to a crisp - just right! The vegan cheese was tastefully applied. Often, adding too much vegan cheese will add a gooeyness to pizza that isn't ideal, but the folks over at Oysterhead Pizza Company do it right. The OPC Margherita has exceptional flavor. The garlic puree adds a spicy medley of flavor to an already outstanding sauce and delicious fresh mozzarella. The fresh basil is a nice touch. I seriously can't stop eating this pie, despite being full. Overall, Oysterhead Pizza Company earns high marks for delicious pizza, great service, and an excellent atmosphere. I will definitely be returning to dine outside in the summer months.

Stopped nearby for EV car charging and picked this place for a meal. Ordered a pizza and meatballs. Was out around 15 minutes and was able to snag outdoor seating at picnic tables. Tasty pizza. I saw that they use bags of Napolese flour and were carrying in wood for the ovens. Nice crunch to the slices and the pepperoni was perfectly cooked. Slices were even. Good place to charge and eat if you're passing through with an EV.

I was looking to do take out (I had originally wanted to get pizza from another place that doesn't specialize in this delicacy but they weren't accepting take out orders that night but that meant a win for OPC!! ) and what a win it was!! My taste buds were happy and my hunger was cured! While I'm only in the area a few times a year, I can say it is a great addition to the area. While tourists may prefer to get their fill on the plethora of seafood restaurants this is 100% worth a visit, and it's right along the same street as all the shops. If were local, this would be my LOCAL pizza place (quite honestly I'm not sure how many other pizza places are around anyway). The price point seemed right for the pizza being served. This isn't your typical medium pepperoni; sausage, peppers & onions type of place. The menu offers fun named pizzas like the aptly named Kevin McCallister (Home Alone fans will understand). Overall the pizzas err on the side of "specialty" and come loaded with lots of toppings. I went to place the order online and was quoted 70+ minutes called and was quoted closer to 45 minutes. It definitely was over an hour before my pizza was ready. It was a Monday night and I know sometimes options for takeout/restaurant dining can be scarce but it was well worth the wait! The pizzas were still in the oven when I arrived & stayed pipping hot on my drive back to where I was staying. I wound up ordering the 16" Vincent Vega (sausage & pepperoni) the wood fired tomatoes in the sauce were unlike anything I've had before. The slices were decently sized & left plenty of leftovers when split with another person. This order also contained a 12" OPC Margherita. I neglected the next to the description and I was told it had some heat, but someone else who nibbled on leftovers didn't find it hot. The crust is also delicious. I found everything cooked perfectly and neither under or overcooked. Just a nice wood fired taste! Now if only I could get this pizza in Connecticut! Yum Wishing this newer restaurant nothing but success because I hope to be able to be a rerun customer for years to come.

Our visit to Maine could not be all about Lobster! We stopped in for a pizza this week and it wasn't bad. We had a pizza topped with Pepperoni, Meatballs and Pickled peppers. The toppings were delicious! Cannot complain...the cheese and sauce good as well, but the crust was a little doughy. It needed to be cooked a little longer as the pieces were saggy. Crust did have a good flavor though, just a little more cooking time and it would have been perfect!

Footbridge Brewery - Dan's ugly pretzel. I believe the story is, he was buying not quality and decided to "figure it out".. It's a solid app with three dips.

All beers were full size pints and the same price so ordered the Belgian beer and it was just fantastic. Our server recommended the bbq pizza and it was loaded with brisket, pulled pork and pulled chicken and was super tasty. Loved sitting outside on a nice evening and enjoying the patio with a great beer and pizza!

Our main waitress (Angie) seemed like she wanted to be nice but was bothered by something that was fighting through. She was a semi rude interaction with the table next to us that caught my attention but it wasn't me so I left it alone. Another staff had a rude interaction eye roll hand thing to a different customer during the time we were there but again it wasn't me. My son had two bites of the grilled cheese and said it was too burnt didn't want it. She came over to ask how it was we told her she offered to make another and that was it. Most places offer to takeoff menu but no big deal. When ordering the pretzel we said we didn't like beer sauce would only like the mustard. Well beer sauce came out was untouched and charged for. Ok not arguing for $3. Lastly still had our plates in front of us and instead of asking if we wanted any more drinks or dessert she starts ringing us up asking for card with total. I had to tell her I would like dessert which she typed in and then still asked for card. There were no drink refills offered throughout the entire meal as well. Maybe they focus on beers more than food but either way it ruined the experience for me. Service goes a long way and there definitely needs to be some additional training...The food was hit or miss. The pretzel was good depending on your taste for the sauces. The burnt ends flavor was really good but really fatty and not really burnt. The grilled cheese had potential but needed more butter and less time getting dark (or burnt). The steak sandwich was the winner of the day easily. The bbq pizza depending on the bite was either great or inedible. There was some type of rancid I'm assuming cheese sprinkled on top that was not listed that ruined it for me. It was almost like a garlic tart mixture of something. Again, the food hit or miss. The service was the same as well. Those combined made this review sadly this low.
