This is right in the 3-4 range. The prices are slightly high but you can tell the seafood is wicked fresh. The fish sandwich was massive. I literally thing it was close to a pound of fish and the tarter sauce was so fresh with tons of fresh herbs. The menu is decent sized but the place can become overrun quickly since it is so small. The outdoor patio quickly fills up so 50/50 if you get a spot and someone is always eyeing your seat when you are about to leave. The sight and smell of the ocean is right there. Along with cars that have to ideal if the bridge is turning. Overall if you are up in bar harbor a good spot to grab some seafood and stare at the coast for a bit. read more

Absolutely the worst lobster roll I have ever had. Soggy, mushy meat drenched in mayonnaise. I was at this place in 2021 and it was great. Don't know what happened. Many other places in Boothbay with better food. read more

Basic small country store/grill with a couple picnic tables on the deck and a few tables inside. Friendly staff. Husband had the haddock sandwich (delicious) and I had lobster roll. It was ok but was my first time having it with mayo and I was not a fan. Much prefer plain with hot butter. Fries and onion rings were good. read more

Though I have stopped by to take photos in the past, this was our first time ordering food and our experience was not particularly good. We reviewed the posted menu and decided to share a chicken sub that was a disappointment. The chicken was water logged, the "grinder roll" from Pepperidge Farms and the remaining ingredients of mediocre quality/quality. read more

We enjoyed our lunch at Trevett Country Store! Everyone working was very friendly. The outdoor atmosphere was pleasant. The food was as good as could be expected. I ordered a BLT (I was lobster roll-ed out) and onion rings. It was all made fresh to order, including frying the bacon and onion rings. I really appreciated that because some places might cut corners here, and use heat lamps which can lessen the quality as the food sits beneath them. They had beer, wine, soda, and juices to choose from. There are other snacks and such that one could purchase here. All in all, I recommend a stop in for lunch, and then sit out on the porch and enjoy views of the waterway. read more

A local pointed us here when we were looking for a fish fry--and the haddock platter did not disappoint. Watched the guy preparing it pull out two fresh fillets and hand-batter them. It doesn't get more made to order. Fish was fresh, coleslaw had a bit of a delightful kick, and the hand cut fries were tasty. There were plenty of outdoor tables, some overlooking the river that added to the ambiance. Service was fast and friendly. Overall, a must-visit spot on the Midcoast. read more

The best fried clams. Superb pizza. Beautiful location. Off the main trail but well worth it.

Don't bother. That sums it up! I learned about this country store by watching a Sunday morning show (it's now on youtube) highlighting the store and the (Barter's Island) bridge close by. Since we were planning a trip to Maine in our future, we moved it up due to the bridge being upgraded by 2020 and the store looked pretty cool. Although separate, they seemed to go hand-in-hand...eat at the store and watch the bridge...it looked like a fun stop. This is not a welcoming place at all. We planned to have lunch. There was one customer leaving when we entered and then it was just us. In short, there were two employees working the day we went, neither could be bothered with us. Both saw us, didn't welcome us and then we got that vibe (thick vibe) we weren't welcome. But that's ok, we'll order and take it outside...right? The lady working where you order food couldn't be bothered with us--cutting lettuce was more important, so ordering wasn't going to happen obviously. The longer we were there (and it was just a short time that seemed like an eternity) we could feel we weren't welcome, but we felt like we needed to get something so we could sit outside. They have pre-packaged ice cream, so it wasn't putting anyone out. We just had to purchase and go out the door. When we checked out the lady that checked us out seemed to lighten up and be friendlier, so that was good....but we were leaving. On the deck outside there are picnic tables with condiments (if you are lucky enough to order). I wouldn't exactly call the store quaint, but it's definitely unusual. You have a great view of the bridge outside and the scenery is ok, but not anything great or to go out of your way for. We thought we'd to go to this store to have a good meal, watch the bridge if we could and/or just enjoy the scenery. I made the mistake in going to this area in general with my family. As a tourist I didn't feel welcome at all, in any way, shape or form except for maybe when we were leaving. It's a total waste of time. Perhaps they have gotten too much attention and are getting a tad annoyed. However, we were the only customers there...eating our ice cream. You'd think in these parts the extra dollars from tourism would be welcome...well, then again, the dollars may be, just not the tourist that come with it. Extra tidbits--As for that bridge: what they didn't mention in that show was that the bridge gets very little boat traffic. We learned this when we were in Boothbay before going and decided to give it a go anyway. However, our (your) chances of seeing it are slim to none in reality. I originally thought the bridge changing was sad. But after our experience, I am happy to see the change and it's for the best. Learning has certainly occurred to not believe everything you read online, nor TV. Awesome local general store with great food - haddock sandwich not to be missed! Pull up to the dock in your boat!

We were visiting Maine recently and it was raining outside on our way to the botanical gardens so we drove down the street and stopped at this beautiful store. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I purchased a handmade lobster buoy fora Christmas ornament. We decided to stay and have a lobster and crab roll. It was delicious and the best we had our entire vacation. Seriously the best service ever and great find read more

Not fancy, BUT ... Excellent seafood snacks/meals ... fresh, hot and crunchy! We return every year.

So enjoyed the food from this little country store. Keep nind of you visit there is not a lot of tables around to sit and eat so pretty much may want to take your food and go. We were able sit down and at one of the four tables on the outside. Their food was very good well-made and I enjoyed it. Definitely a place I'll go back for a quick lunch. read more

Food was great it only took 15 minutes for our fish and chip delicious!! . The staff were friendly Would go back!!

Hidden gem. Very good lobster roll (with a bit of mayo) and fried fish sandwich (with a filet that's twice the size of the terrific bun). I'd say Red's has the better lobster roll and Bet's just edges them out on the fish sandwich, but can you also send a Priority Mail package at either of those other places? Nope. Homey feel, decent view (especially if the drawbridge has to open), good food and drink selection, and great convenience if you're also doing some mailing or receiving! read more

I've explored the mid-coastal region of Maine for the best lobster roll. Located abouty a 10 minutes drive from the touristy area of Boothbay Harbor (worth the trip BTW), Trevett's has without a doubt the best lobster roll there is. Located right on the water, the lobsters are fresh as can be. So meaty, sweet, flavorful. Some people use butter, some mayo, and some way too much mayo. Here they use just the slightest amount of mayo so it just complements the nature flavor of the lobster without over powering it. I'd say no doubt this is the best lobster in Maine. They also have whoopie pies. I love me some whoopie pies. My family comes from Maine so I know what it takes for a perfect whoopie pie (side note, why do some people fill them with marshmallow? Sacrilege). Anyways, it was cakey, light, and the frosting filling so creamy. It was the perfect size too. Loveddd it! Best whoopie pie I've had as well. I'd come back to Trevett's any opportunity I'd get. read more

I like the old, down east feel to it. Right next to the water, and HANDS DOWN the best lobster roll I've ever had. I stopped in several times during my last trip to Boothbay. If your in town long enough, be sure to try their pizza (hand made), crab roll, and breakfast sandwiches. read more

The Trevett Store doesn't look like much, but the seafood is fresh and delicious (crab and lobster rolls are highly recommended). Trevett Country Store - The Lobster Roll at the Trevett Store - Convenience Stores Near Me - Trevett, Maine

Used to be the best place to stop for crab rolls, lobster rolls, haddock etc The service has always been subpar (going back over 10 years), but after watching the zero hand washing and lack of overall food-safe sanitation, and bonus- terrible attitudes towards multiple customers, we are out. So many better options. If you've seen the sloths in Zootopia, that's the pace things move, but without any effort to be pleasant or clean. read more

Nice place that's worth the short drive from BBH or if you find yourself at the Botanical Gardens or Porter Preserve. We got a lobster roll and a fried haddock plate. The lobster roll was very good, but not quite up to the top-tier rolls. The friend haddock was very good, but not quite up to that served over at Bet's Fish Fry in Boothbay. So, for the very good food and nice setting (try to time your visit to high tide so you can watch the Trevett Swing Bridge get opened), this place gets a solid four stars. read more

Normally a good boat stop for lunch. But during Covid, Patrons where masks, the Proprietors do not. If you want to eat at a place where you relish the idea of the potential asymptomatic food preparers breathing all over your lobster roll, this is the place for you! We come up to Maine for the Summer and probably usually hit Trevetts by boat at least a dozen times. No more now, as the blatant disregard for consideration of others tells me everything I need to know about the selfish ideals of the Owners. People up and down our point have shared the same concerns and we all agree we'll all take our boat trips to Robertson's and Robinhood where they care about their customers. So hopefully Trevetts will weather the pandemic and we can return at some point and be mask free just like the Trevetts staff today. read more

Things are looking up...service has vastly Improved (think they let the grumpy girls go). Hands down the most amazing fish chowder you'll Ever eat...and the lobster rolls are to die for in a crisp buttered roll. Been going for years for excellent crab and /or lobster rolls, but last few times food was not worth the terrible, and I do mean terrible, attitude from the staff. The 2 guys on the grill were at least working, but the two ladies made it totally clear they rather be anywhere else, and acted like the customers were inconveniencing them by showing up. Tired of always getting service with a scowl here, and noted the rotten attitude when another customer nicely asked for food they paid for but never was made. Not sure it's worth it anymore, even for the good crab roll and nice view. Need to treat customers politely and with a smile. Business 101. read more

This is a small country store with fresh sandwiches. I got the crabmeat roll and it was really good and tasty. I am from maryland so that is saying a lot. The haddock and tuna fish sandwiches were good as well!! They get very busy and the cooks get a bit stressed but it's well worth it!! Stop by the mill cove lobster. You will get a great education on how they prepare the lobster. Jeff is super nice. Love this place!! read more

Food is ok, but the place is run down and extremely dirty. Staff are downright rude!

Good, friendly, tasty, and just-right really describe this store-slash-sandwich shop out on Hogden Island. While folks might wait in long lines for a lobster roll at Red's, which is very good, this place is just as good and with very little wait. read more

Very good lobster roll. But the serious lack of cleanliness/hygiene will prevent my return. In the height of the COVID epidemic the two ladies behind the counter wore no gloves, no masks, washed their hands as fast as a two year old would, and observed them carrying chicken fingers barehanded from the storage room to the kitchen. Cold, unwelcoming attitude made me feel like they didn't want my business. Do yourself a favor and go to Bett's fish fry and Shannon's unshelled. Far cleaner, and happy people thankful for your business. read more

Great views and decent food. I got a grilled cheese and you really can't screw that up. Two in our party got the Crab Roll and they loved it! It was busy when we went and we had to sit inside. Stumbled on this place while going to look at the Barters Island Bridge. One of the last manually operated swing bridges in the country. Had a Haddock sandwich and a soda. I went here with two of my friends for lunch. Watched them complete two of our meals and give the third to someone else. This is probably the most unique little country store ever. Sitting on the water right next to a rotating drawbridge, it serves the best fried haddock and lobster rolls around, with a picturesque little deck on which to eat it (Their hotdogs are also good as well, we often grab some when boating by as a snack). They also have snacks, sodas, cigarettes, and even wine (though no liquor license, so you can't drink it on their deck), so they are a great place to come tie up when you are around on a boat and need any of the above necessities. If you are around boothbay (or even wiscasset or bath by boat), they are worth checking out! read more

Fantastic Lobster Rolls and awesome service. What a great place. When your in the Boothbay region, this is a must stop.

I've been coming to BBH for 45 years, and visited Trevett Country Store multiple times yearly for many lobster rolls. This year my son and daughter-in-law (both 34 years old) rode along with me as I went to purchase a six pack of beer and food. After ringing up my items, I was asked to show my ID , which I did. Even though my son and daughter-in-law were not purchasing anything, they were asked to show their IDs because they were with me. Because they didn't have their IDs with them, I wasn't allowed to buy beer. I was rudely told that this was Maine law. I have never encountered this anywhere else in BBH or the state of Maine. I'm very disappointed in the management of Trevett County Store and sadly, won't spend my dollars there again. read more

This is an out-of-the-way gem, as authentic as you can find on the coast of Maine. The menu is simple, and the food always reliable. I have been coming here for 30+ years, and happened to try my son's hamburger--I know, a hamburger when there is a lobster roll on the menu?!. Guess what I ordered a few weeks later when I returned? A hamburger, and one of the best I have had in a very long time, true to the philosophy of simple, quality ingredients, rather than inferior ingredients covered up with heavy spices or other disguises. If arriving by boat, they have always had room at the float. read more

Personally I think the food is average. The lobster rolls are kind of dry. Fish and Chips is bland. The crabmeat rolls are good, you get so much crabmeat, considering it may not be local, it's great. The food reminds me of the food from City Island the Bronx. read more

I go here for lobster rolls when visiting. Decent beer and wine selection for a very small, quaint store and cafe.
