I like the pizza here; it's pretty good. (The buffalo chicken pizza is excellent.) I've had a few small issues with the staff though. I get take out here often and they'll tell me 15 minutes, and when I'm there 20 minutes later, I'm still waiting another 5-8 minutes. If it were once or twice, I'd understand - but it's consistently happened the last several times I've been there. It's likely because they have (presumably) high school kids working in the front, so I guess you get what you pay for. read more

Visit Venus frequently. Always consistent and the pizza is the best. Always have a friendly server. Would recommend for a casual night out!

Venus III in Hanson opened several months ago and is the sister establishment of the Venus II in Marshfield. The pizza is a solid buy, and always good. The Venus sampler is gigantic, and although it is basically all fries and onion rings, it is still a great bargain. With a bucket of 16 oz beers only putting you back 12 or 13 bucks, Venus III has some awesome deals. The entrees have decent-sized portions, and the service is friendly and attentive. It is also a great place to catch a game, and every booth has a TV in it to watch whatever you want. read more

My husband and I went out for a drink and have driven past many times and thought we would give it a try tonight, the entertainment was so/so, the atmosphere was so/so, the service was good, the bartender got us everything we asked for and checked in on us periodically. We both ordered specials, and honestly, the meal was depressing. I ordered surf and turf, the fillet was tough and bland, the lobster tail was so overcooked it was beyond dry and unable to be saved by numerous pats of butter.. All the food I had was poorly seasoned at best. The corn on the cob was mushy. My husband ordered the Rib-eye. it was also quite bland, and was properly cooked in some parts and completely grey and overcooked in others and the fries were so/so. Ordered the seafood trio (Scallops, shrimp, haddock served in a caserole dish) and everything but the haddock was raw. I knew immediately since the breadcrumbs didn't seem golden brown on top. It's a shame that whoever is in charge of the kitchen sent the dish out like that. The scallops were so raw and slimy it ruined both my girlfriend and I's appetites. We've been to Venus III multiple times, but after that experience we won't be eating here again. read more

I went to Venus III tonight for dinner and I would not recommend this place to anyone. This is the third time I have left there unhappy. My mother ordered a stuffed haddock and I ordered a Chicken parm sandwich meal. We had a coupon for buy one dinner and get one free up to $10.00. My meal was only 8.95 so you would assume they would take off the cheapest meal. Although our waitress Carol was very good all coupons need to go through a manager for approval. The manager said because I did not order an "entree" we could not use the coupon. I was disgusted that 1.) we should have been able to use it and 2.) The waitress had to inform us of the decision rather than an explanation from the manager. This is poor customer relations and due to this will never go here again! read more

The service was good the waitress my table had was very polite. The food was good for the most part I ordered "Pasta" which was just normal spaghetti or penne with marinara sauce and a bread stick. I also ordered a baked potato as an appetizer. The potato was a little over cooked but for the most part pretty good they provided plenty of butter for it to make it less dry. The pasta was ok I have definitely had better it was way over cooked where is was more soft and broke off the fork in half almost every piece split which i found annoying. The sauce was a bit strong but other than that it was ok. My friend ordered a pizza with garlic pepper and onions which was good as well. While we were waiting we were playing cards and happened to drop one so when I picked it up the underneath wall and table was nasty the wall was stained brown and was gross I didn't get a picture but was pretty disgusting. I had the nachos (supreme i think they were called?) and they were SO good. I was shocked at how fresh all the ingredients were! Very tasty! It was around 5pm on a monday so of course all the regulars were there. The blond bartender wasn't very attentive or overly friendly. Have eaten here more times than I would have liked. Food is generic at best and disgusting at worst. Have had caesar salads swimming in dressing to the point of ridiculousness, undercooked burgers, nasty fish, nachos with a bunch of weird stuff on them, etc.,... It is mostly geared toward the townies and the bar scene when there are games on or a live band playing. Waitstaff is rough around the edges. They can't make a decent mixed drink to save their souls. Have had to send back glasses of water with stuff floating in them and silverware that was not washed. Got a gander at the kitchen staff and all I can say is ......it isn't pretty. Last time I was there was a few weeks ago and there were three flies buzzing around the waitress' head and she didn't really seem to notice. Three flies!!! Yuck!! Avoid sitting near the back of the restaurant or you will be continuously assaulted by the smoke coming in from the smoking area located just outside on the deck. read more

Menu was huge with so many options. From steak to pasta to burgers to pizza just to name a few so many great options with lots of gluten free options as well. Chicken and bacon Mac and cheese was amazing with a huge portion. The bar area was great with lots of tvs and a good vibe. read more

this place skrooges everyone, Takeout menu adds a takeout charge, girl at checkout uses in house menu for pricing,usually $1.00 more than takeout menu, takout charge is a percentage of the total charge, not $.45 to cover the box, I guess they think you take a pizza home on a napkin. 4 times over the last 2 months I have been charged $9.32 for a pizza priced at $7.45 on the takeout menu. Any guesses on how many Pizzas go out the door on friday and saturday nights at $1.50 more than they should cost? I wonder if the sales tax reported to the State is based on the Takout or House price? The pizza is good, the price is on the high side as listed on the takeout menu, but do they really need to treat customers this way? everyone Check Your Bill, see if its correct. My husband got the "House Special" Crab stuffed Haddock. it did not have any crab and it was full of oil. I got the Chicken Broccoli and Ziti.. The Broccoli was over cooked and too soft. I frequent this spot when we don't feel like driving far. I usually go with my boyfriend and the service always seems preoccupied with their cellphones. When we settle up to the bar we are never asked about our day, or even given a simple hello (probably because half the people in the town just complain). The typical response to us sitting down is "what do you want to drink?" The staff seems burnt out or just over being bartenders. That is totally fine because the people that we normally see in there is complete white trash. Me and my boyfriend are really just there for a quick bit and to get caught up on each other's week. We typically go in on Wednesday days and it seems like the bar is full of regular lush bags. The banana pepper pizza is good and we get a Greek salad and it always satisfies us. Overall the restaurant is just okay, and if your not close by it's certainly not worth driving too. read more

I live less than a mile from the Venus and brought my boyfriend there for lunch last weekend and we will never go back! We ordered calamari as an appetizer and what they brought out will never be considered calamari anywhere else! It was all breading and no meat, and we could not even taste the calamari. We had to ask for lemons and a different sauce because what came with it did not pair well. I ordered a chicken Cesar salad and my boyfriend ordered chicken fingers & onion rings. Again...all breading! The onion was drowning in a half inch of fried breading. It tasted the same as the calamari! I was shocked about how poor the food is because i have heard it was an ok place to grab a quick bite. Our waitress was slow and not attentive. My salad was weepy.
