on 9/13/26, two of my girlfriends and I EAGERLY went to Venue2106 to try their Brunch. We arrived at 1:05pm and it took about 5 minutes for us to be seated. Once we were seated, we were given water in plastic cups, and the server left to go assist other patrons. We didn't see him again until 1.55pm. We kept trying to make eye contact and though he'd look our way, he continued to assist other patrons. After about 30 minutes, I flagged the security personnel and asked if he could grab the server. When he did, the server made eye contact and said he'd be right with us...he didn't return. Another 10 minutes passed and I flagged another lady who we'd seen passing out meals and collecting dirty dishes to return to the kitchen. She turned out to be another patron who jumped in to help the staff. She did catch the attention of another server who came to take our order. This was 1:45pm. Once the second server came to the table, she took the first person's drink order and when that guest tried to order brunch, she stated, "Brunch is over." Confused, we looked at our phones and saw it was 1:50pm by that time and we said, "The Website says Brunch is 11am - 4pm on Saturday's and Sunday's." The server repeated the statement and said, "you can only order off the dinner menu." Now, if the same or similar items were available on the dinner menu, that would be fine, but we came SPECIFICALLY for BRUNCH...which is why we arrived at 1:05pm. Did management come to the table to offer an explanation as to why Brunch was over 2 hours prior...no. In fact, no one came over to our table to address or explain anything. We received nothing but water in a plastic cup and a waste of time, gas, and energy. Black-owned Businesses in the Tampa area are such a disappointment. This is not the first, second, third, or even 10th occurrence that I have experienced. There's an attitude, inadequate parking, discrepancies in pricing, food is always wavering between visits, venues run out of food, they can't accommodate your requests on basic items like having condiments...there is ALWAYS something. The part that really pissed us off is that to book; they want a reservation deposit of $25 per person. Why would I pay a deposit when you can't even honor your hours of availability? Will I return...not if God Himself told me to go back. Will I inform everyone of this experience...absolutely. Included are the pictures I took there...my plastic cup of Water, the actual area of the bar, and my empty table spot which remained empty from the time we were seated until we left. read more
