You choose try to use personal attacks in your reply to mock a customer and try to make condescending remarks. Seems like you're taking things personally when someone gives you feedback. To be clear: I didn't write a review to feel "powerful"-I wrote it because I felt mistreated and dismissed when I tried to communicate after the appointment. FYI, being polite isn't a weakness. It's called being mature. I just wanted to warn others who, like me, prefer professionalism over passive-aggressive lectures and personal digs My boyfriend called because I was genuinely upset and unsure how to navigate the situation. I remained respectful throughout the process and your reaction here proves why customers may hesitate to speak up directly. If that's how you handle criticism, I'm confident I'm not the only one who's walked out quietly and never come back. You're mad I didn't speak up in person, but based on your response here. it's pretty clear why I didn't feel comfortable and why others don't based of other negative reviews. If this is how you handle feedback, I can only imagine how you handle real conversations in your chair. That's really unfortunate for you, because no one grows--personally or professionally--by refusing to hear criticism. David is absolutely amazing at cutting hair! He is attentive and pays attention to details and he's a swell guy to talk to, too. I went for a different hairstyle than I walked in with, and I love the results. David is confident and experienced and he listens to his clients. My husband came here a couple of times and got great haircuts each time, too. He told me that they cut women's hair, and that most of the clientele were women, so that's why I went. When I went in, it must have been gentlemen's night lol but I'm so glad I went. They're great with cutting men's and women's hair. read more

Wow- that's what I could say. Rosie has been working on my hair for few years and she is so sweet. She takes her time, gets the color exactly how I want, her method of cut and blow dry are awesome..she knows what she's doing. If you are skeptical of making an appointment to come in, you will wonder to yourself on why you didn't make the appointment sooner- you'll feel like a different person (in a good way!) If I did one thing right in my life , that was going to Ventura cuts salon . I've been going to this salon for more than 20 yrs and during these years I moved few times and each time I got more far away specially it's about 45 min drive each way and even there are many hair salons much closer to my house but I still chose to drive that far with no hesitation , Ana , Susan and Rose they're all very friendly. There was a time in this world, not long ago, that you could walk into virtually any haircut place/barbershop and just get your haircut. Those days are gone. Chain places like Floyds, Supercuts, Sports Cuts, Fantastic Sams...it's now (since the pandemic, anyway) all "appointment only." No matter what time of night or day you walk in, they won't cut your hair without an appointment, and they're ALWAYS allegedly booked solid into 2027 and can't cut your hair, even though there's not a single customer in there and the employees are sitting around on your phone. Thank the sweet lord (insert your religion here) I happened upon Ventura Cuts. I barely had my hat off and they already had me in a chair. No bullshit, no hemming and hawing. I walked in, got my mop chopped, walked out 22 minutes later. Fu** yeah. Did cut work, did it quickly. There was a time in this world when that was the status quo. Those days are gone. Got the second worst haircut I've ever had in my life here (if you want to see the worst check my Supercuts review it's actually hilarious in hindsight). Walked in and asked for a trim and told the woman that I wanted my hair to blend in better on the left side since that is the direction my hair goes. She left me with a chicken little Mohawk. She cut off all of the hair that I had been growing for months by taking the electric razor almost up to the midline of my head. She cut my 2 cowlicks completely off in the back because she went to high and then told me that it looks good and that I should spike the remaining hair up. I expressed that she did not do what I asked and then told her that I'm going to buzz it or wear hats for the next couple months because the cut is trash and told her that I do not wish to pay for it; and then she said I still need to pay for it but offered a $3 discount (slap in the face). I ended up paying for it because I didn't want to get arrested or something for walking out and then I got a call from the owner asking me what happened and what I want to make things better. I asked for a refund and she said that they don't do refunds. I said "well I wouldn't need a refund if your employee would have given it to me for free" in which Rosie the owner responded "oh" and then offered me a free haircut. I accepted the free haircut because the owner has cut my hair before and she does good work. But since I'm not going to receive a refund for this haircut I decided I should leave a review. I will update this review once I get the free haircut that I was promised and hopefully i have more than a 1 star experience next time I go. Update: could've gotten the $3 off she offered by checking in with Yelp.. lol read more

Susanne has been doing my hair for many years now. I have curly hair that I relax every 3 months, so I am very picky with how I ask to get my hair cut. Since the beginning Suzy has taken the time to listen to how I prefer to get my hair cut. She cuts it exactly as I ask her and now every time I visit I don't even need to tell her how I need it cut, she already knows exactly what to do! She is amazing! Love these guys! Rosie helped transform my hair from black/dark brown into the awesomeness it is now! My old stylist didn't want to do it, she was more conservative and not comfortable doing "crazy" colors and I came here since I work nearby. I have attached a pic of my hair after a month! My roots were growing out faster than my hair could fade and let me tell you blue hair is notorious for fading into like grey or something, but with Rosie's magic my hair maintains its color and I just need my regular touch ups every 4-6 weeks ^.^ Her and Miriam also helped give me tips on how to care for my hair since what I do does damage hair! I have been a customer at Ventura Cuts for 5 years. Rosie is exceptional! Even when she is booked, I have had my hair cut by another on her amazing staff. I'm almost 50 years old and so I've had a few hundred haircuts during my lifetime. Rosie is the best by far. She never tries to up sell me (or anyone else in her chair), the store is clean and I feel like a VIP the whole time. A specific example of exceptional service actually rests with how they treated my children. I brought in two of my girls and they got a 100% pampered treatment. It was the first time my kids (9 & 12) had gotten their long hair "really" blown dry by a professional. The girls were beaming and walking on air. The staff wanted to give a steep discount for the work they did, but I politely declined and even gave a generous tip -- because unearthly service, and the memories they can create, are worth the money every time. Went in for a walk-in hair cut because my girlfriend was at the nail salon next door and I was greeted and sat dow by the RUDEST hair stylist on this planet. She wouldn't show me what size clippers, listen to my description of the haircut I wanted, or even face my direction when I was talking to her. Instead she said, "we'll get to that part later." SHE ABRUPTLY DECIDED WHAT HAIRCUT I WAS GOING TO GET FOR ME BY STARTING THE CLIPPERS, GRABBING MY HAIR BY A FISTFUL AND AGGRESSIVELY YANKING MY HEAD INTO THE BUZZER until I made her stop by putting my hands up and in the way. This woman actually aggressively yanked my head by my hair into the clippers until I put my hands in the way because yelling stop wouldn't work. I don't know why she was so mad, but she has serious serious issues. Once I made her stop she then started yelling at me and saying, "someone sent him in here", and that she's, "a really good listener", and that I, "just didn't communicate." The audacity it takes to say that after I had been interrupted and ignored for 10 minutes straight will never make sense to me. I think she thinks I was sent in there to make her look bad so she could be fired or something. Anyways, I got up to walk out and she kept yelling names at me until the manager made her go out the back. Then the manager tried to finish my butchered haircut herself but it was lost. It must have totally been worth getting physically and verbally assaulted and a butchered haircut because the manager gave me an amazing $5 discount tho! I shouldn't have even had to pay. I was really nice and didn't do anything wrong to deserve that treatment at all. If this is how they treat their clients they should probably be run out of business. Worst haircut experience of my life, negative 5 stars. I also went back to politely speak with the manager to let them know that the way I was treated was unacceptable and I would never come back as closure. I was told that I got a good $5 discount while the hair stylist in the back mocked me for my haircut , laughed snidely, smiled, flipped her hair and waved sarcastically while I walked out. read more

I called ahead to see if I could get a haircut today at about 4pm. They let me know that there was no wait so I headed in. The shoppe itself was nice and clean. When I walked in they knew I was the one on the phone and had a chair ready for me. Susan was very nice and polite. She made nice chit chat with me as I got my hair cut. She was able to decipher from my minimal instructions the exact hair cut I was looking for. "Not too short on top and 4 on the sides." I have said these same words to other barbers in the past and got a haircut much too short for my liking. This one was perfect. I will definitely be going back next month when I need another cut.
