Short Version: Bumpy start, insurance hurdles, problematic parts situation, disappointment,…read moreresolution but ultimately complete satisfaction. I had reservations through the process, but Rick is a stand up and honest guy. One of those real people you don't meet very often. Maybe a little rough around the edges but he will work diligently to help you find a way to resolve problems that arise. I mean if you ever owned and RV you know, if you are just getting into the game he can help. He has experience and knowledge and is willing to work through problems. It took some time, but he earned my trust and confidence. I'd go to Rick and Tri County RV anytime. It's great to have an owner operated business this dependable in Ventura and provides great value for the community. Longer Version: Rick and I had a bumpy road. Dealing with insurance, manufacturers, custom parts and a comic cascade of communication which went best in person, second best via direct email and off the rails a little with phone or disparate emails with third parties. However, Rick hung in there and while I sometimes may appear unreasonable, I'm not. I'm often just too curious for my own good. Yet in this situation because of Rick's tenacity and desire for customer satisfaction we got there. Rick came up with an unconventional way to provide the desired outcome, and I hope his shop is still around should I need any work on my RV in years to come.

We had one request that they limit the driving of third-party people in the motorhome to ensure that it does not break as soon as we requested that their manager called and said we do not want to take your motor motorhome. because we don't want the responsibility if somebody test drives it and they break it and we have to return it broken. That's not our responsibility. The whole thing seemed like a sham the sales person wanted to take the motorhome. We were offering at a very low price below wholesale so they could make a profit and simply because we were reluctant about how they handled test drives. Their manager, came in and refused to accept the motorhome. That tells us that there's something fishy or smelly going on at this particular Ventura RV motorhome, and therefore we would not recommend it based on our personal experience and our personal interaction that we had with the variety of people at their facility

Best decision ever! Although getting to the meeting point was a bit scary as we drove 15 mph through winding roads next to steep cliffs, the views were nice and the ATV experience was totally worth it! We gave ourselves plenty of time to get lost and it took us about 1.5 hours to get to the checkpoint. Luckily Google Maps was on the entire time and we even had an hour to kill on top of the mountain before our 12:30pm appointment. (Also had screenshots of the directions in case we lost service). Upon arrival, we met with the two girls who were wearing face masks and face shields so we felt safe. They had all the sanitizing stuff. They checked us all in, gave us each a mesh covering for our head, pairs of gloves, goggles and helmets. They offered different insurance plans (just like a rental car company), each ranging in price. Then, they walked us over to the ATVs where Jorge was our tour guide. He asked us if we've ever rode before and taught us how to use the automatic ATVs and made us feel comfortable and safe. (Throttle was on the right handle bar and brakes on the left. Second brake was a foot pedal). We drove on wide and narrow trails, over some fun rocky areas, kicking up lots of dust, and he took photos of us the entire time. This was a great family bonding experience and we're all still talking about how fun it was and want to do it again. Know Before You Go: It gets dusty so wear clothes and closed toe shoes that you're ok getting dirty. Give yourself plenty of time to drive to the location because the last thing you want to do is rush through the scary mountain roads. 10/10 would definitely do this again!

My wife has been wanting to go ATV'ing awhile, we were staying in Santa Barbara for the weekend so the timing was perfect. We live almost 2 1/2 hours away from the location (Santa Barbara)but gave ourselves a 40 minute cushion before our reservation. We past through 2 counties and caught anADDITIONAL hour of traffic on the way and completely missed our reservation. Now before your reservation you sign a agreement with a reschedule disclosure attached. We didn't make the appointment, didn't reschedule and we were forced to forfeit our prepaid $250 for two riders. This is an online business so you won't be able to talk with a single soul. I reach out via email, and was surprised how quickly they responded in NOT caring about helping me with my issue. Bottom line; no they didn't do anything wrong by not helping, but they could care less about having satisfied customers or anything outside of collecting our money. So if you're planning on going with this company then please be on time cause you'll not be shown any leniency, or to cough up an additional 40% of your initial cost PER PERSON just to reschedule.

I called several places looking for a toy hauler for my first adventure - a solo dry camping trip April 13 - 18 in the Lake Tahoe area. This was my first experience with anything other than tent camping (but I had the towing experience and vehicle) so I needed training from the propane tank to the rear bumper and of course answers to my million questions and repeated questions. The other places I called gave me short and seemingly disinterested answers to my initial toy hauler questions and then I spoke with Fil. He was so patient, understanding and helpful we decided the Weekend Warrior FS2300 would be the ideal one for me. Fil very patiently and with a welcoming smile, walked me through all of the features and settings, answered ALL of my questions (and repeated questions) thoroughly, tested all of the systems/settings on the hauler with me and made sure I was confident before I left his yard. I knew I would be in areas with no cell service so I wanted to be sure I had all the information I needed. (Bonus he flipped and connected my weight distribution hitch and sway bars and adjusted my trailer brakes in a New York minute.) Of course I only retained a small portion of the thorough WW lesson I had received (my fault I didn't take notes) and had to find cell service and make several calls to ask more repeated questions about basic procedures I had forgotten. Fil was very patient and seemed happy to explain and answer them all again - even some late night brain farts I had. I was a toy hauler expert by the end of my trip! The WW was very clean and in good working order (tires were brand new!) and I liked how roomy it was and how easy my 7.3 L Excursion towed it through Mammoth and over the mountain passes through white out snowstorms above Lake Tahoe. It was the off season and Fil's pricing was less than the others I contacted. I really think Fil was a vital part of making my first experience a wonderful and memorable one. Would definitely recommend Weekend Hauler Rentals in Ventura to newbies and expert RV renters alike! Wanted to add another rental experience and some pictures - I rented the WW from WHR again April 30 - May 12 for a longer dry camping trip to/around Tahoe/Reno. Once again Fil greeted me with a smile and made me feel welcome even though I was running quite a bit late this time. The toy hauler was clean and in good working condition and of course I had a few more questions which Fil was happy to answer and also offered to walk through anything I was unsure of. I really feel Fil cares about his equipment - keeps it well maintained and also cares that his customers have a great experience. I will definitely be renting from him again and would HIGHLY recommend WHR!!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience with Weekend Haulers was extremely…read moredisappointing from start to finish. When we arrived at our campsite, we discovered that the A/C in our trailer did not work. We spent the entire first night sleeping in a hot trailer with our young kids and my elderly mother, making what was supposed to be a relaxing family trip very uncomfortable. The next morning, Weekend Haulers told us they would bring a replacement trailer between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. We packed everything up and had all of our food, camping gear, and personal belongings sitting outside waiting for them to arrive. Unfortunately, they didn't show up until around 12:00 p.m. To make matters worse, communication throughout the entire process was poor. We were left waiting for hours with little to no updates, forcing us to repeatedly reach out for information instead of the company keeping us informed. We planned our day around the time they gave us, only to be left wondering when or if they were going to show up. Because of the delay, we missed the majority of our family's waterpark reservation from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. By the time the trailer was switched out, we had less than an hour left to enjoy something we had already paid for. After everything we dealt with, we simply asked if they could offer some type of refund for the first night without A/C or compensate us for the lost waterpark time. Instead, we were told there was nothing they could do because they claimed they found a Red Bull can in the RV toilet. That accusation was completely unfounded. We didn't even have Red Bull with us, my child isn't able to flush the toilet on their own, and none of the adults would ever do something like that. What made this even more frustrating is that if they truly found something wrong with the trailer after we returned it, they never called us to discuss it or give us an opportunity to explain. There was no phone call, no questions, and no attempt to hear our side. The first time we ever heard about this alleged Red Bull can was when we requested compensation for the issues we experienced. It felt more like an excuse to avoid taking responsibility than an honest attempt to resolve the situation. I understand that mechanical problems can happen, but what separates a good company from a bad one is how they handle those situations. Between the broken A/C, hours of waiting, poor communication, losing valuable vacation time, and then being denied any compensation while being blamed for something we did not do, this was one of the worst rental experiences we've had. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Weekend Haulers. If you choose to rent from them, be prepared for poor communication and customer service if something goes wrong.
