I recently made a trip out to California and wanted to get the most out my visit. I was looking for something really adventurous and unique and contacted Epoch Restoration. I rented a beautiful 1966 Ford Econoline outfitted with a bed, sink, cooktop, everything I needed for a great camping experience. I drove the van out to Joshua Tree for some wonderful views, hiking and climbing. The van drove well and was a real head turner. We got so much attention (waves and smiles) driving the van around and it made the experience that much more exciting. The owner Stephan really set us up for the trip and went over everything we needed to know about the van to get the most out of the van's amenities. If you're looking for a reliable vehicle to get out there and see all that California has to offer, I highly recommend Epoch Restorations. There's so much to do, whether you wanna ride to the beach, see the desert or the mountains, Epoch's selection of outfitted retro vans and RVs will get you there in style! We have a 1969 VW Westfalia Bus  and contacted Stephan about doing a complete buildout/restoration.  He worked with us on the design, gave a fair estimate of the cost, and went above and beyond in all areas of the project. Stephan was awesome! My boyfriend & I were heading out to Coachella and needed a reasonably priced options that allowed us to adventure during the day, head to the festival in the afternoon, and have a comfortable bed to sleep in. We rented a 1966 ford econoline and had an epic time! All the amenities you need and Stephan was quick to answer any questions we had. The solar panels kept the fridge running and our phone and equipment charged throughout the weekend. Would definitely recommend! read more

Stephan's vintage campervan is a true eye catcher. The customized features allow you to be close to nature and yet still have the luxury of a comfortable bed, running water and a stove to cook! Stephan (the owner) is extremely patient and detailed with my many many questions. He explained everything I needed to know about driving an older vehicle to make sure that I was comfortable. On the day we picked up the van, Stephan took a good 30 minutes to go over everything and even went on a test drive with us. It's clear that he restored and built all his vehicles with love and passion - they are all very clean, practical and absolutely adorable! He has these lights installed in the van that change color and movement, which is super fun at night in total darkness. Oh, Stephan is pet-friendly too! We took our two cocker spaniels and they enjoyed the trip as much as we did. Stephan's gorgeous van received lots of attention along the way. They see me rollin', they hatin' is not an exaggeration. Had a roof fan installed here and was very satisfied with the results Great service and price, Stephan was also a great help in Answering some other van build questions I had, I would definitely recommend him if your looking for some help with your van build I'll be going back my self for a welded metal bed frame after seeing the awesome work he does. read more

We stayed with Stephan in one of his vintage trailers in Casitas between Ojai and Ventura. The location was great, as were the hosts. Stephan made sure we had everything we needed. The trailer had water, electricity, mini fridge, stove, electric blanket for chilly nights, a private area, nice covered porch built-on, and an out door shower with nice hot water. He was an hospitable host and had a bonfire waiting for us when we returned the first night. We had to make a sudden change of plans on our last day and he was very accommodating. If you want a sweet stay in a great location close to beach and town, this is the place for you. read more

My homegirl was visiting from NYC and I wanted to give her an iconic California experience. I rented the Ford 1966 Econoline because it was the only of Stephan's vehicles with automatic transmission. What an amazing vehicle, super cute and customized. We got so much attention on the road (we couldn't resist blasting California Dreamin and giving out lots of peace signs while driving down the PCH haha). Stephan explained everything and answered my bajillion questions patiently. When I left, I completely forgot to give him back the keys! Even then, he was super chill about getting them back to him. One thing to note is just that the van is older and so it doesn't have power steering or brakes and is a bit slower than other vehicles. I was a little nervous to go beyond 50mph, so we took local roads everywhere. (At some point we went through the canyon and people were not so patient with us). Plan accordingly. Rented the VW from Stephan over Memorial Day Weekend and had an amazing time at the beach everyday. Rental and pickup was as easy and communication with Stephan over pickup/ drop off time was quick. You could tell how much love and effort put into his vehicles! The VW drive safely and smoothly over Kanan Dune to Malibu. Would recommend this experience to anybody! read more
