The menu is massive but they also had "spring specials", figuring we could get a butter chicken anywhere we tried some of the specials. They were great, we had the paneer tikka, chicken tikka phaal and gunpowder beef. We also had some samosas (veg) which held their shape when cut and were delicious. We also got the garlic naan and pashwari naan, sometimes the fruit naan can be a failure but it was perfect here. Also serving sizes were good, you got more than a couple pieces of meat in sauce. Service is super friendly, one of the waiters noticed we were having troubles getting our 2 year old to sit, so he came over and played with her while we finished our glass of wine. Only things that stop it being 5 stars is the service is occasionally forgetful (we had to ask for things multiple times) and it being on the pricey side of things.

The staff are always on their feet and on the two occasions we visited, we were never left waiting to order or ask for additional drinks. They even gave us coffee after they had already cleaned the coffee machine and were getting ready to close up. I think some may feel that the food is a bit pricy, but I would have to disagree. While it is expensive compared to most other Indian restaurants, I believe the food is priced fairly (taking into account the quality of the food and service, and menu originality). We are far too accustomed to seeing Asian cuisines as being "cheap and quick". Abhi's is definitely worth the visit, you are guaranteed to find dishes you've never eaten before.

Some of the dishes are very spicy, especially the Indo-Chinese noodles. My friends are vegetarian so I agreed to order only vegetarian dishes to share with them. Even though I'm a carnivore I didn't miss having meat at all because the dishes were so delicious and savory. Service and atmosphere were good including a television playing Bollywood music videos. I would eat here again on my next trip to Sydney, and my Indian friends are already planning to return to this restaurant very soon since they live close by.

Our entree, the Nepalese chicken Momo, were borderline warm. Probably didn't help that the serving sauce was chilled, but still enjoyable. Our mains were exquisite. The Kodi kurra (hot) delivered on spice and flavour, and with large slices of green chilli peppers mixed in I'm not surprised. The Dum Ka Murgh (med) was also on point, silky smooth taste with every subtle ingredient complementing the next. The meal was elegant. I also got to try imported Indian beer for the first time, interesting honey notes that go down easily. We will be visiting again.

The curries were all top notch, rich and full of flavour and you can choose the spice level. The goat curry was a favourite, the palak paneer was more-ish and and of course we had the obligatory naan bread to mop up any left over sauce, we opted for garlic. Make sure you save some room for dessert. I know they aren't traditional Indian desserts, heck there is nothing Indian about a sizzling chocolate brownie or a white chocolate mousse with mango. But this did not faze us, despite being pretty full from the preceding delectables, we still managed to polish off these tasty desserts. A great Indian restaurant serving generous portions of quality food. The pricing is also reasonable with all mains under $20 and, as an added bonus they do BYO, so grab a nice bottle of wine and pay them a visit.

The curries are flavoursome and the naan is fluffy and absorbent. Maiti Fusion is also the place that feels the most like a cozy restaurant, rather than a cheap eatery. Which is almost paradoxical, since they offer a bargain lunchtime special. The location might seem cursed, with the constantly-revolving restaurants that have tried to claim a home here. Hopefully, Maiti Fusion becomes a permanent resident, since Ashfield could use a bit more diversity.

A family run business having once called Nelsons Bay home, now thankfully running a new operation in Sydney. Bombay Street Kitchen has alfresco dining as well as indoor seating. There is a projector screen on the roof of the outdoor area playing retro Bollywood classics. The menu is wide and varied and as the name would suggest, brings exciting Indian street food options that you may not have known to exist. To help familiarise you with these exciting new treats, the menu listing are accompanied by a short story detailing the origins of each dish. So much choice and exciting new food to try we were momentarily a deer in the headlights. We decide to order a drink whilst we perused the menu. With plenty of choice, soft drinks a beer selection including Indian variety, as well as a few cocktails that took our fancy. Like the tamarind martini or the rum spiked Lassi's called the Sassy Lassi. We decided on the Sassy Lassi's. We got the mango as well as the rose and cardamon which are a must if visiting this place. The inspiration coming from the magnitude of street food available in Bombay. An great place to stary is with the Pani Poori; a crisp little pastry pocket stuffed with, potato, puffed rice and chutney, add the spicy tamarind sauce to taste. A mouth full of texture and a flavour explosion! The bright almost fluro red koliwada prawn fried in spiced butter, served with a lemon yogurt are sure to light up the table. Another favourite of Bombay workers being the Pav Bhajji, a vegan like sloppy joe; a buttered bread roll seved with spiced mashed veggies, served with a side of fresh spanish onion, corriander and a lemon wedge for added freshness. The pefectly spiced lamb cutlets cooked at high heat in the tandoor sure to have your mouth watering. We also ordered a chickpea and mango summer salad for some added freshness an option from lunch menu. They have a bombay lunch box for under $10, great for a cheap eat. Also cooked fresh in the tandoor are the naan and roti which we ordered to accompany some classic curries. The railway goat curry cooked on the bone, a full flavoured curry that will have you licking your lips in delight. Another go to, the paneer palak, was on point. Add a serve of flavoured rice on the side to soak up and savour the curry sauce. Make sure you leave some space for dessert and you are in for a treat. The mango kulfi, a weiss bar like dessert cooled us down after a night of spice. The Gulab Jamun a classic, not overly sweet in this instance, the dessert served warm making the dumplings nice and soft and served with cardamon and a creamy coconut ice cream. A very enjoyable and exciting Indian dining experience.

The banquets are great value if you are hungry - you get significant entrees (things like samosa, chicken tikka, kebab) unlimited papadums, rice and naan, and unlimited supply of 3 preselected curries. It's only about $30 per person. Sometimes they might let you substitute for a different curry if you ask nicely. Highly recommend :) I have some dietary requirements, and they were very accommodating, making separate batches of some of the curries just for me! Although on the down side, they did make a terrible error and accidentally gave me an entree containing one thing I am allergic to... Which I discovered after biting into it! Luckily for them, I am not anaphylactic! But they didn't even really apologise, only asked if I wanted something else instead. I would have expected a bit more, after they assured me that they were very careful with allergies. And yet I still give it 4 stars, because I love the banquet :)
