I'm reluctant to go to restaurants that have long queues outside mainly because I hate waiting, but on a positive side it must mean that the cuisine inside is fabulously delicious. My advise is always make a booking for this place as it is very popular, especially at the weekends. I like this restaurant because of its consistent high standard of food, its taste and the friendly wait staff that will always make your dining experience a pleasure. While this place isn't at the top of the 'high end' Indian restaurants in Sydney, it certainly makes up for it by the quality and quantity of the food portions and most importantly the price. no wonder it can pride itself on being awarded the DIMMI People's Choice Award for 2016! The menu is full of vegetarian and non vegetarian choices. I have been slowly making my way through the menu and for this review I will list my favourite dishes/ menu items. On arrival you are offered water and a complimentary serve of Pappadums and yogurt mint sauce and another darker sauce that is tasty. A drink from the well stocked bar is also available however we brought our own bottles of wine. Corkage is $2.50 per person. For entree you cannot beat the Maya Da Dhaba Entree Platter for two ($22.90) consisting of Adraki Lamb Chops, Chicken Malai Tikka, Fish Tikka and Vegetable Samosa. If you need to make it for more people, this can be easily arranged through the wait staff. The Adraki Lamb Chops are my favourite,as they are marinated overnight with Kashmiri spices, garlic and ginger-skewered and then grilled in tandoor oven. Another favourite is the very tender Chicken Malai Tikka fillets marinated with cardamom, mace, cream, cheese, white pepper, garlic, black salt and then char-grilled in the tandoor. There are two main dishes that I can highly recommend from the specialities menu. They are: * Kadai Chicken which is cooked with capsicum, onions and tomatoes and finished with fresh coriander. ($16.90) * Chicken Jalfrezi - succulent chicken pieces cooked with tomatoes, onion and mixed vegetables and finished with lemon juice. A mild fragrant dish not to be missed! ($16.90) * Chicken Chettinad - boneless chicken fillets cooked in south Indian style with a touch of coconut cream, mustard seeds and curry leaves. ($16.90) Also everyone's favourite Butter Chicken is very popular choice. The chicken is cooked in a rich creamy, tomato based sauce with fragrant spices and finished with a drizzle of cream. ($16.90) Meat dishes - I love the Lamb Saagwala - the most tender lamb pieces cooked with fresh English spinach, fenugreek, onion and garlic. ($17.90) The restaurant offers a variety of Biryani Rice choices. I often go for the Kashmiri Pulao ($8.90) or the plain Pulao ($2.90) Add some tasty Naan breads or Roti to your meal and you have an Indian banquet that will have you satisfied and talking about its goodness until you visit again. I was treated by Navjit (the restaurant manager) to a taste of the Gulab Jamun. It was freshly made and so irresistibly sweet! This syrupy dessert is a must have if you have room for more! Thank you Navjit, Saini and Gary for looking after us every time we dine at your restaurant. See you again very soon!

There was plenty of space and I was given booth seating. I had a tough time choosing between Short Rib Korma and Aussie Lamb Chops. I finally went with the Short Rib Korma. I also ordered Onion Sesame Naan. The Short Rib Korma was made in a spiced coconut cashew curry, which was simply delightful. The Korma sauce was an aromatic blend of spices, bursting with bold flavor. Short Rib was quite tasty, though some pieces were a little bit tough. The Naan was light, thin, slightly crispy. There were pieces of sesame sprinkled on top, though I wished there was more onion taste. Service was decent. The waitress was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, it was a lovely meal. I would give this spot another chance and would like to try the Aussie Lamb Chops, Charred Fish (whole snapper), Kashmiri Naan, and Rose Lassi.

The curries have a surprising variety of flavours, and some are very hot, so be warned if that's not your thing. I came here for lunch the other day, and it was so cheap! $8 for a lamb thali -- which is a huge meal (it's basically a tasting plate - lots of little curries, chutney, & rice, and something sweet). I reckon Little Haveli have slightly better Thalis, but you certainly get value for money.

I was seated pretty quickly, but it took a long time for the server to take my order. I tried the spicy buff's momos and a chicken thalis platter. It was plenty of food, but I'm glad I ordered both - just for the variety. The momos were good. I liked their spice level, but I thought they were too sauced up. The thalis had a variety of flavors, but aside from there rice, there wasn't enough chicken or dal bhat. Tip maybe go with the boneless chicken for the same price - hopefully you can get more that way. Aside from that, I found it to be a good place.

Prepare to be disappointed!" before…read moreentering, because they can't possibly compare to the authentic Indian restuarants in India, right? ...Wrong! They get all the little cultural idiosyncrasies of North Indian restaurants completely right! From the free paapads (or pappadums, as they're called in South India) on the tables (which they reload every time you finish them), to the fennel breath-fresheners they bring out after your meal! It's just a beautiful restaurant, with a really professional, sophisticated ambience. From the stark-white of the table-trimmings, to the soft glow of the candles. The service is excellent. The wait staff are so attentive! They pull your chairs out for you, they spread the napkins in your lap, they refill your glass every time it's less than half-full, and they make you feel well looked-after. They look over every now and then too, just in case you need anything, so you're never left waiting if there's a problem. And all this, for a fairly reasonable price! My date and I ordered two main dishes, and three garlic naans, for under $50. A hefty meal, at a lovely establishment, for under $25? Excellent! I had a hard time carrying myself and my full-to-bursting stomach out of there, so much did I eat! Of course, in the interest of full disclosure, I must warn you about the spiciness. I ordered the Butter Chicken, and my date ordered the Lagan Ki Boti (baby goat).. and we ended up having to swap, because his dish was too spicy for him. Being Indian, I barely registered the spiciness, but it's probably worth mentioning, so that your sensitive palates aren't unduly distressed. If you're deathly afraid of spice, go for the Butter Chicken. My date was very happy with it, and he has a pansy Irish palate. You can't go wrong there!

But who cares when you have a wine list that is awesomely paired with Indian food, and when that food itself is sheer awesomeness. $32 for a tasting plate is a little much though. Two prawns, two cutlets and a piece of chicken is a bit light, and looked as much on the plate, even if it was artfully done. Or am I being a cheapskate? possibly? There is no question that the food is great. The goat curry is particularly good, and without the usual accoutrement of bones. The spicy lamb and lentil special was also wonderfully good. The best part about this meal is that I was already slightly intoxicated (but still legal!) and the wonderful staff were fantastic in catering to our every funny whim and faux-pas (napkin on the floor, spoon on the floor, etc. All in all a wonderful experience, and one I was happy to repeat, and to repeat again in the future.
