    Sunday specials.. dinner
    Grace S.

I have never been to India, so I am not sure how authentic the food actually is, but I enjoyed my meal tremendously ! Came here for lunch on a Sunday at around 12.30pm, and it was fairly full (there was a private party on one end of the restaurant). Started off with a masala dosai and it was good, fluffy crepe with lots of potato fillings. The spice was done just right so it doesnt overpower the light crepe. It came with two sauces, that went really well together as well (not sure if it was meant to be separate but i just mixed them together anyways). For mains, we tried to Goan fish curry and eggplant & potato. The fish curry had more of a sour-spicy tone but the curry sauce went really well with a plain nan. Personally, i loved the eggplant & potato....it was a little spicy for me (low tolerance of spice!), but it was flavorsome, and was something that I would order again or recommend! Overall, an enjoyable meal. Despite there were only two servers , our waitress came by every so often to top up our water and check on us. Two thumbs up !

Great indian food! I'm a huge indian food fan being from London and this really satisfied my urge. Service was on point and the food was nothing but delicious. If you're looking for good food with good service and a nice ambience - this is the place!

The menu has a good variety, though the dishes felt more comforting than standout. A solid option if you're nearby, but not necessarily a place you'd go out of your way for. Food: The curries had good flavor and spice levels, but were a little oil-heavy for my preference. Portions were fair, and the dishes came out fairly quickly. Some items stood out more than others, but overall the food was enjoyable without being particularly memorable. Service: Service was efficient despite the busy crowd. Staff were polite and managed the small space well, though at peak hours it can feel a bit rushed because of how packed the restaurant gets. Ambience: The restaurant has a traditional Indian theme with old Maharaja portraits and classic décor elements throughout. The space is on the smaller side, and the décor can feel a bit overcrowded, making it slightly cramped during busy times. Still, it has a lively atmosphere that fits the tourist-heavy Circular Quay area.

There was plenty of space and I was given booth seating. I had a tough time choosing between Short Rib Korma and Aussie Lamb Chops. I finally went with the Short Rib Korma. I also ordered Onion Sesame Naan. The Short Rib Korma was made in a spiced coconut cashew curry, which was simply delightful. The Korma sauce was an aromatic blend of spices, bursting with bold flavor. Short Rib was quite tasty, though some pieces were a little bit tough. The Naan was light, thin, slightly crispy. There were pieces of sesame sprinkled on top, though I wished there was more onion taste. Service was decent. The waitress was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, it was a lovely meal. I would give this spot another chance and would like to try the Aussie Lamb Chops, Charred Fish (whole snapper), Kashmiri Naan, and Rose Lassi.

Well... you know when you order too much from an Indian restaurant and you get the leftovers packaged up to take away but when you go to eat said leftovers for lunch the next day (ok fine, breakfast) you can't bring yourself to do it because the grease sheen that has coated the plastic container and subsequently pooled into oil slicks atop your aloo tikki, chicken jhalfrieze and lamb roganjosh gives you night terrors in the daytime? (Phew. Breathe.) Well, that didn't happen the next day. Dare I say, it was even better the morning after as all the spices had really settled as they do, and it came out of the container without a Cat In The Hat-style signature calling card. We were very impressed by the vegetarian dishes, specifically the aloo gobi and dal tadka, although I could have had them both a touch spicier. But the standout was the fish curry, to which I leave you with this quote directly from their menu: "Panjim Fish Curry: Panjim on the konkan coast comes this beautiful recipe which only taste cant (sic) describe best." Note: Unfortunately you'll also pay for said deliciousness, entrees coming in from $6-$15 and mains from $14-20. But quality is much higher than your old go-to London standard Indian takeaway that you drunkenly hit on Brick Lane and then denied knowing anything about the day after (just me?) so it's certainly worth it in my book.
