The menu has a good variety, though the dishes felt more comforting than standout. A solid option if you're nearby, but not necessarily a place you'd go out of your way for. Food: The curries had good flavor and spice levels, but were a little oil-heavy for my preference. Portions were fair, and the dishes came out fairly quickly. Some items stood out more than others, but overall the food was enjoyable without being particularly memorable. Service: Service was efficient despite the busy crowd. Staff were polite and managed the small space well, though at peak hours it can feel a bit rushed because of how packed the restaurant gets. Ambience: The restaurant has a traditional Indian theme with old Maharaja portraits and classic décor elements throughout. The space is on the smaller side, and the décor can feel a bit overcrowded, making it slightly cramped during busy times. Still, it has a lively atmosphere that fits the tourist-heavy Circular Quay area.

The appetizers were great, not pictured are the papdi shots and tandoori chicken. I highly recommend the tandoori chicken and the rest of the appetizers. There was plenty of space and I was given booth seating. I had a tough time choosing between Short Rib Korma and Aussie Lamb Chops. I finally went with the Short Rib Korma. I also ordered Onion Sesame Naan. The Short Rib Korma was made in a spiced coconut cashew curry, which was simply delightful. The Korma sauce was an aromatic blend of spices, bursting with bold flavor. Short Rib was quite tasty, though some pieces were a little bit tough. The Naan was light, thin, slightly crispy. There were pieces of sesame sprinkled on top, though I wished there was more onion taste. Service was decent. The waitress was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, it was a lovely meal. I would give this spot another chance and would like to try the Aussie Lamb Chops, Charred Fish (whole snapper), Kashmiri Naan, and Rose Lassi.

There was just enough food, and I thought I wanted more, but just had desert. For desert I had a sweet naan, the Peshawari ma'am bread is seeet and has raisins, plus the Pistachio ice cream. I left with a deep inner peace, Namaste! The front desk suggested next time the Butter Chicken spicy with a sweet and hot mix, next time.

Well... you know when you order too much from an Indian restaurant and you get the leftovers packaged up to take away but when you go to eat said leftovers for lunch the next day (ok fine, breakfast) you can't bring yourself to do it because the grease sheen that has coated the plastic container and subsequently pooled into oil slicks atop your aloo tikki, chicken jhalfrieze and lamb roganjosh gives you night terrors in the daytime? (Phew. Breathe.) Well, that didn't happen the next day. Dare I say, it was even better the morning after as all the spices had really settled as they do, and it came out of the container without a Cat In The Hat-style signature calling card. We were very impressed by the vegetarian dishes, specifically the aloo gobi and dal tadka, although I could have had them both a touch spicier. But the standout was the fish curry, to which I leave you with this quote directly from their menu: "Panjim Fish Curry: Panjim on the konkan coast comes this beautiful recipe which only taste cant (sic) describe best." Note: Unfortunately you'll also pay for said deliciousness, entrees coming in from $6-$15 and mains from $14-20. But quality is much higher than your old go-to London standard Indian takeaway that you drunkenly hit on Brick Lane and then denied knowing anything about the day after (just me?) so it's certainly worth it in my book. Free delivery over $30 within 4kms.
