Horrible place! I wouldn't take my enemy here. The staff is horribly unfriendly and rude, I went here on a Sunday during the long weekend and it was the only place that wasn't booked up, and now I know why. The place looks nice and their colour choices are very large, but when you have staff that are rude and who are too rough on your hands (my fingers were cut and bleeding when I left) then the colour choices and decor don't really matter. Horrible and rude , Anna did my nails dip powder she rushed me and did not do a good job when I asked her to fixe things she was rude and and did not lisent I was very polite and respectful to her .I did not feel comfortable at all . 1. She did not remove my old dip powder correct' 2. She did not file my nails 3. When I asked her to take off the old dip powder she over filed to of my nails in the attempt to hurt me 3. My dip powder is now way to thick 4. So from what I know this place has new ownership as of 2015 or so maybe take the older reviews with a grain of salt. Anyways, I love getting my nails done here, they have a large wall of selections and different types of stuff, vinyl, shellac, bio, nail dip, etc. Generic brands of course, you have the OPI, essie, color charm, shellac, china glaze, etc. Huge selection right when you walk in, sorted by brand/colour. I feel like they might have all OPI colours. So first off, the colour I wanted, OPI, ran out, bottle, down to it's last drop, Anna, ordered it for me, next week I came it, they had it. Holy shit, just the most amazing service. (P.S. might take longer/shorter than a week, just stating my experience), I know when I came in before a lady came in but the colour she wanted in vinyl was out and they restocked it the next day for her(I was a witness the 2nd day). I love my nails. For me I always get the nail dip, there's a vast a mount of colors available or you can get it painted over with a different color. Reason I get the dip is because it last forever. I'm not kidding. I love it! I was a bit wary but Anna convinced me to try it and I'll never go back. This stuff is amazing, my nails are pretty fragile and even when I get extensions with UV, bio, etc they constantly break. I was very pleasantly surprised when my nails lasted weeks longer than the other. I thought I'd have to go back in 3 weeks but nope!!! Not to mention they're super thin! Although you might not want it so thin if you constantly knock your hands around/do labour work obviously. It was just refreshing to be able to scratch. I don't take care of my nails at all and do a lot of activities, so having it not break was A+++ for me. Oh, as for parking, it's in a plaza that usually has spaces. Free parking whoop. Anyways, for my photo I'm using OPI on top of NuGenesis nail dip unfortunately the sparkly under layer they discontinued(this was the one she restocked for me xoxo), but they came out with a different more beautiful version, it's pretty similar but BETTTERRR. I fell inlove with it, this photo is from a past visit, hence why I'm talking about a new colour. Anyways, along with it is OPI Lights Of Emerald City, OPI Snow Globetrotter. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! I went here for the first time to get a mani/pedi and within 40 mins the EMPLOYEES broke out in a fight!! Pushing each other, screaming, it was insane! I've never seen anything like this in my life!! To make it worse, after the fight one of the girls got acetone on my Louis Vuitton Neverfull. She tried to tell me it got on the chair and not on my bag when I can CLEARLY see that it got on my bag. And to top it off, they still made me pay for my mani/pedi.. when I really should've just walked out of there. When I told the manager Anna, she could've cared less.. gave me her info but it looked like she couldn't be bother. I'm hoping my bag doesn't change colour, peel or get messed up. I've been to this nail salon many times. I usually get my nails done with my coworker during our lunch break. They're fast and cheap! They quality is pretty good too. I do feel a bit rushed when I'm here, but it's expected. It's perfect if I need a quick fix on my break. The owner is super sweet and the staff here are very nice. Some of them don't speak English that well, but they really do make an effort to talk to you during your service and to make sure that you're ok. read more

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE (which it actually might help transmit). The place is as unsanitary as they come. The tools are not sterilized properly, hands are not washed between clients, stations are dirty. The pedicure technician has cut my cuticle and drawn blood and after I've asked for an antiseptic, I've discovered that not only they don't keep one on hand, the owner has no idea that she must report all incidents of cuts that lead to bleeding to Toronto Public Health. I got screamed at for pointing it out. The powder dipping procedure (so called NuGenesis) involves you dipping your fingernails into communal jar of powders. Understand that there is no sterilization between clients and your EXPOSED nail and cuticle gets dipped into a jar where a person potentially carrying Hepatitis and other transmittable diseases has been. This place should be shut down and its ignorant (not to mention obnoxiously rude) owners (Anna and the husband) be put out of infection-transmitting business. If you value your health, AVOID. read more

Only reason I gave this place 1 star is because you can't give a zero. I called to inquire if they accepted walk ins as I needed to get my nails done and going to my regular place was just out of the question given my schedule. The girl asked that I come in for 2:45pm same day and that was fine, took my name etc and it was booked. I arrived approx 2:35pm for my 2:45pm appointment expecting not to have to wait for too long. The receptionist was pretty rude when I inquired about their shellac style colours as most of their brands were not familiar to me. I finally settled on a brand/colour I wanted and was seated at a nail table. 20 minutes later I was asked by one of the nail techs to get up and move so she could do someone else's nails... I asked how much longer I was going to have to wait as I'd already been AT the salon waiting over half an hour for my 2:45pm scheduled appointment. She conversed with a co-worker in a language I don't speak and then said "oh she said less than 5 minutes" By this point I was ready to leave, but the girl called me back as I was mulling my options. I was hoping they would redeem themselves... She started my nails at 3:10pm (I checked the time). I had chosen a OPI gel color to be used on top of a gel overlay. This girl told me she refused to use this OPI colour as it was "too thick and would look ugly"...okay...the girl at the cash had told me it would be fine, and was the only brand in the salon I had ever even heard of, let alone trusted, so I wasn't interested in using their "nailfx" product that I hadn't heard of and could not even find on google (looked it up while I was there). She then argued with me over what was already ON my nails (brisa gel with a gel color on top) and got annoyed when I told her she would have to grind it off. She did so - and for some reason decided to gouge a massive hole into my thumb nail, which even after redoing my nails has left a massive divot/ridge When she started to apply the gel overlay, her gel was in a little tub I had never seen before so I asked what the brand was, her reply was "oh..seaweed brand" - again I have NEVER heard of "Seaweed" as a brand for sculpting gel's. Her process was totally disjointed and uncomfortabl because of the amount of times she had me taking my hands in and out of her horribly placed lamps (one on each side of the table but below the table, lower than the chair arm rests). She kept doing one nail, putting it in the lamp, another nail putting it back in, etc etc until all nails were coated/cured. She also had me leaving my hands under the lamps for absolutely UN-reasonable and UN-necessary lengths of time. I pulled my hands out on multiple occasions because they were burning, hot and sore from the UV (this should never happen, your skin should not hurt/burn while curing gel nails!) She forced me to use this Nail FX "Shellac" they carry because she refused to use my chosen colour. Once she put this product on she asked me to put my hands under the lamps, got up and walked away. Nearly 15 minutes elapsed from the time she told me to put my hands into the lamps, to the time the receptionist came and got annoyed with me because I had taken my hands OUT of the lamps - because after about 2 minutes, my skin was literally burnt from the UV lamps. She then tells me it takes 10 minutes for this "Nail FX" to cure - which is absolutely unheard of for a shellac style product. When the nail tech finally returned she got annoyed I had taken my hands out and tried to make me put them back in - I refused. She wiped them with alcohol and they didn't look the greatest, very smeary, smudgey and ridgey - this was not because of the curing, but because of her process, they are definitely cured on there as expected. I asked again about the overlay gel she used and she told me she had no idea the brand to call her boss?? Then I asked to see the paper documentation about this Nail Fx - where it should list the cure time - she refused. I questioned her on her lack of knowledge regarding the product she had just affixed to my fingernails, she just kept saying "oh well call my boss you go pay now" Needless to say, I left the nail table at 4:45pm, over 2 hours after my arrival, and 1.5 hours after she started doing my nails in the first place. I had a (sun)burn on my left hand which took 3 days to stop bothering me, and my nails are the thickest gel nails I have ever had on my fingers. I called the company who sells Nail FX Shellac - and was told that if you are using an LED lamp their product takes 90 seconds to cure, if you are using a UV lamp, it can take up to 2 minutes max. She claimed, and tried to enforce, that it took 10 minutes. I will never step foot in this place again and suggest you don't either. I did not have a pedi but they were not cleaning the basin's between customers, and I saw nobody put anything in a sanitizer, which is sickeningly disgusting! read more

My experience at this establishment was nothing short of horrible. This was the 3rd time that I tried it and found that the costumer care is lacking. The first time the staff was rude to my self and my friend. The second time I came in for a wax and the receptionist who is the owner told me to go to the room I waited for 10 min when a staff finally arrived she asked me to leave the room do that she can serve a different client. I left after that. I then decided to try them one more time today. The wax OK though I had to tell the girl that it was to hot but she still continued with out cooling it I finally had to be persistent regarding the hot wax. The pedicure was fine but not worth the money they charge. I then processed to get a full set of powder gel nails. When I sat down I told the nail tech exactly what I wanted. Half way I noticed that my nails where different shapes and length. I had to ask her multiple times to file them, and fix them. She became rude and argumentative with me and sent me to talk to the owner who told me to go somewhere else. If you want to be treated like trash then this is the place to go. I find the service at Venetian Day Spa the complete opposite. The day before my wedding I got my nails done at another nail place and they were horrible!! the owner of the VEnetian fit me in..on a Saturday within an hours notice and I had an amazing french manicure done..that lasted over one week!! On my way out, the owner gave me a religious gift to have with me on my wedding day to have a long and healthy life together:) I find the owner and the staff really warm and friendly and recommend this place highly. read more

DONT GO TO THIS SALON. Under the older ownership this place was amazing. Now it is absolutely horrible. I went three times once the ownership had changed and all three (even though i had an appointment) I was told to sit and wait for over 40-50 mins. Every time they had completely overbooked and it wasn't until i asked what was going on, that they sent someone over. If i hadn't said anything they would of left me sitting there for hours. The worst part was that they make you sit there, won't look at you or pay any attention and then keep accepting walk ins even though you've been sitting there waiting.I though this was just a fluke at first but it is clear they have no idea how to schedule bookings. Even worst- i bought a product from them to give to my sister as a gift. It was the OPI Nail envy strengthener, I love it and have a bottle of my own. When my sister opened the bottle, it was obvious that they were selling FAKE PRODUCTS. The packaging looked identical, when we took the bottle out, it was a completely different colour than mine, different writing on the bottle and a different texture, it also smelled horrible. I have contacted OPI and they verified it was fake. If people want to do business like this, customers should be aware of it. Went to Venetian Day Spa for a biogel nail set. Friendly reception, decent prices and result with nails. Main complaints would be that the nail technicians have accidentally gotten the (drill) nail buffer on my skin instead of my nail a few times and when removing my set, they filed down too much of the gel on some nails and that was super painful (as my nails were paper thin due to the application process, which was to be expected). read more

Came here a few times to get my nails done specifically from the owner Ha Ana, she is great! Always does exactly what I like. The store itself is huge compared to other nail salons I've been to. The plaza has parking which makes everything more convenient. Located right at the intersection of Steeles Ave W & Dufferin. I got extensions+ NuGenesis formula done once before and it's a great technique. With her skills and knowledge my nails looked amazing once again. I went in to get them removed (including extensions) and it didn't hurt at all! I always get cuts from other places removing my nails. I just got the shellac done, and it's a nice and clean look. They also have a large variety of colours in different formulas. Highly highly recommend Venetian Day Spa, also recommend making appointments! it's kind of far from my area, but I don't mind coming all this way. Great service, and nails! First time visit- It started all well till 8 days later my whole shellac manicure starting to peel! I always get shellac at another great place lasts close to 2 weeks! I called to ask them if they could do anything about it his answer was NO! I argued saying this wasn't normal or acceptable they need to stand behind their quality. Finally after 15 minutes of arguing he said he would give me 5$ off! Absurd cost me more to drive up there. I spent close to 100$ with nails feet and waxing and this is their customer service. I agree with I.G. and Samantha K. As I was getting my nails done, I clearly have time to observe my surroundings. Being in the sterilization field, my eye automatically goes to what was clearly lacking in this place. Gloves not being removed upon receiving their tips, only removing their gloves between clients but only to RE-USE THEM after taking it out from behind their station-(girl close to the fish tank) Dropping instruments and attempting to use them again without sterilizing them! When I asked her to get another one, she argued with me and asked me why. (Girl in the first chair, far right, in the first row as you walk in) I wish I knew all their names so I could bait out how nasty they really are. This establishment isn't what it used to be and I believe it starts from the top. Hepatitis and herpes are a real thing. But if they don't value their own health or that of their staff's, I cant imagine they care about the people who come in and pay money for the service. This place should get it together and if you cant spend .5 cents on a pair of gloves, maybe you should reconsider your field. The only good thing going for this place is Tee- who I've noticed is the only one who has changed gloves and takes her time doing a good job. Thank you Kayla for you review....I agree this place deserves a big 0. My reasons/experience are below... you really do get what you pay for here..... Visited the Venetian on October 2/13 for a spa pedicure. Interesting place with the dated italian-like decor. I decided to see past the tacky decor to try a pedicure here since it has a close proximity to my office. Good regular polish selection (OPI, Essie, other name I do not recognize, etc) Shellac by OPI. Most of the girls are able to communicate ok in English especially Cindy who did my pedi. Don't expect the pedicure to be overly indulgent: no Scrub, no mask, just cuticle trimming, nail shaping and a yellow hard sponge pumice-like block for callouses (they did offer the razor) and oil massaged to your feet and legs before polish. None of their steel utensils were in sanitized packaging so I was sketchy on its cleanliness. After the polish application, I sat under the foot dryers which did not appear to work at all. All seemed well, despite the dryer issue, so I tipped $10 on a $27.50 pedi because she was efficient and nice and 'appeared' to do a good job. When I got home I got a closer look and it was a shoddy paint job; the sides of the toes on my right foot were not even AT ALL(I used a light pink which requires some finesse and a detailed eye to use) and the toes were not at all shaped uniformly. I had to cut a few down to even them out. Unfortunately I put too much trust in Cindy who said she had worked here for 5 years. I went back the next day to get it fixed. After the polish was redone, they let me sit in the chair to 'air' dry - no direction was given as to why because the day prior I was moved right to the dryer after the polish application. The person (not Cindy) who repaired my polish had another customer RIGHT NEXT TO ME and never checked me once to see if I was dry. Someone else came along and said 'go sit under dryer' not advising again that the dryers only worked if you put your bare foot on the sensor below. One thing to note for you ladies who do acrylic nails, and this is coming from someone who has extraordinary quality enhancement for over 16 years What I saw this in the 'spa' (enter air quotes) and was completely shocking. If the Health Board has regulations on this industry of nail salons, this place would be as they say in french "ferme" (closed). The aqueous solutions used to wet the brush before they dip it in the acrylic powder before applications is in a USED LANCOME FACE CREAM DISH!!! I was mortified to see this and can't imagine what other shortcuts this place takes in their day to day practices. Overall, poor communication, poor quality and severely low sanitary standards are why I or anyone else should NEVER venture here. No matter the price or convenience I highly recommend that you avoid this 'spa' at all possible. read more

After being a client at this salon for more than 10 years, bringing in my family, my friends and recommending this place to so many people, I now say NO MORE! Today was the most disgusting and offensive experience I have ever had at a salon..EVER! Today my technician was a woman who struggles with English. I knew this when I told her of a problem with my toe nail. She nodded and said yes. I asked the owner if she had understood what I had said. HE spoke to her in their language and he said that she understood. The next hiccup was when she began to file the top of a nail where I have a white spot. I asked why to which she answered "yes". Again I was forced to ask the manager for an explanation. I had never had this done before and was concerned my nail would now be rough. She buffed with something and we proceeded to the part where she attacks the callouses on your feet. She asked me if I wanted the blade or the "Grater". I said either. She picked up a grater that was on her cart and it was full of dead skin!! I asked if she was going to clean it and she took it into the back where I could hear the water running. I freaked! I asked the manager how this utensil was supposed to be cleaned to which he got VERY defensive and said they clean it according to the law. Not a good answer. I asked again "how are you supposed to clean it?" He answered that it is supposed to be washed and then cleaned with alcohol. He claimed that the girl thought I wanted it rewashed, he assumed that it was clean to begin with. I said that it was not. It had been left behind from the last customer and rinsing it under water was not sufficient. He said it was not used (he had not seen it before she took it to rinse it off). He proceeded to accuse me of misunderstanding because the girls English was bad and that I had a problem with her because of this. REALLY?? My only issue is that when someone is hired to serve an English speaking clientele they need to understand the customer. She not only had a problem understanding but as well seemed to not know her job. The manager took offence that I would claim such a thing.He implied that I was lying...that in fact the utensil was clean and the woman was confused??? NEVER QUESTION MY INTEGRITY! . My business is going elsewhere. And. I advise anyone else frequenting Venetian Day Spa to think twice about exactly how well they follow sanitary guidelines. DISGUSTING!!
