I recently went to Venables Glass to get a rock chip repaired, referred by my insurance agent and pre-authorized. I thought it odd that they presented me with a waiver to sign, stating that the repair might not work for me to acknowledge. The front desk clerks spent more time talking to themselves about their weekend activities than interacting with me, the customer. It was completed quickly with a request for me to not do certain things with the car for a period of time. The chip had hardly changed at all! I thought, ok, perhaps it will "cure" or something after the specified time. WRONG! The chip actually got worse than when I brought it in for repair! I've had many of these "super glue" repairs done n the past. ALL took longer than this one and ALL were almost a fully transparent fix. I spoke with my insurance agent who called them. He was told, tough, I had signed the waiver. So insurance companies are paying Venables Glass a couple of hundred dollars for a fix that they force the customer to acknowledge that it might not work? Yes, that is what customers of Venables Glass and their insurance carriers are doing. This company used to have a good reputation when the father ran the company. They say an Apple doesn't fall far from the tree...but it can sure roll a long way! AVOID! Safelight is a great alternative and they come to Madison-Ridgeland! read more

They replaced my glass but my satellite radio antenna was messed up. I was told it was dry rotted but my big argument is that it was working when I brought it in but it wasn't working after they did the work. The owner was very nice and called me the next week and ordered me a new antenna. Here's my big thing: they left the antenna kinda loose and to the side. When I brought it to them it was very strategically placed where the antenna/wire couldn't be damaged. Now, if I were to take it to a car wash it would likely mess it up. I have a friend who manages a place that can fix it for me but it's just a matter of time. I still won't be returning to them in the future. read more

Very bad experience. They fixed my back glass in my truck but it was after market and leaked. They replaced it with an OEM but the total cost was nearly $1000. This is just bad business to charge so much. They left broken glass on the seats and floor, and trash in the front and back. They did try to reseal it but that did not work and they damaged my overhead fabric. My problem is the cost, that's insane. I'm at a loss as to why this is acceptable when a windshield is half the cost. Transparency is the second issue. You should tell the customer what they are going to be charged before anything is done, especially if the dollar amounts are approaching $900. It's all fixed but at a huge expense and there was no apology for the cost. No one needs to make this much profit from a simple piece of hardware. read more

I've gone to this business twice to have a windshield replaced. I was referred to them by my dealer because my car has LDW and may or may not needed calibration ($399) after the windshield was replaced. It's rare that it needs it after installation and both times I didn't because they successfully installed it correctly. This second time I came from Memphis (have since moved from ridge land) to have my windshield replaced simply because of the service and price. I called ahead to make sure my glass was in stock and they were able to order it and have it when I got in town! Excellent customer service and great job done! read more

Was needing to replace the rear passenger window on my truck. Set up an initial consultation through my insurance company, and things seemed to be going well. I was wrong, they are trash, and their customer service is repulsive.. They are trash because of the following reasons: 1. I have been waiting two weeks, and have NOT received any confirmation of them receiving my window. 2. Called on Friday and was told they might still have it, and that I could come Monday anytime before 3 pm. 3. Was told today that they return glass ordered online after five days, but that they still had it and it would be a 3 hr installation. 4. Got there today, and they said they didn't have it. In all, they have provided inadequate and altogether dishonest business for me and more than likely other customers. I do not recommend this company, and will never return here AGAIN. I would give zero stars, but sadly, that isn't an option. read more

My experience with Venable glass has been nothing but awful. Monday my car window was broken by a landscaping company that was going to fix the window through this company. On the initial day that the glass was broken, Venable called me directly and said my window could be fixed by Wednesday. They even offered to cover the window for free. When I brought the car to have the window covered they informed me that they couldn't cover the window on my specific make and model (something they had on my file). Late on Wednesday I called to see if they had received my glass. The women on the phone was not helpful and was out right rude with me saying they would let me know when it was received. On Thursday I called and they had no idea where the glass was or when it would be there. On my phone call on Friday they told me that they had already called the landscaping company to let me know the glass was there and they couldn't fix it for me because it was after 3pm. When I asked why I wasn't called directly I received a "huff" and "I don't know five other people work here." Needless to say the service was horrible but each phone call was more unpleasant than the last. The only way to save this business would be to hire an entirely new and NICE office staff. read more

However, even on my 4th attempt to get someone to come, to no avail, no one has yet to call or visit. This of course gives me a very negative impression towards this company as being "selective" in their service. Venable change the windshield on my van last year. This year I needed to replace it again because of a crack--not Venable's fault for that. But, when the guy went to replace the windshield, he realized that the molding had been cracked and glued back together. Then he found that three of the clips had been broken and the whole piece of molding had been glued down instead of clipped as it should have been. This is horrible shoddy work. Do not use them for auto windshield glass replacements. read more
