Velofix arrived promptly (actually early) to work on my e-bike. The work was performed promptly and reliably. My e-bike is back in service.

I live in Midtown Sacramento, 6 blocks from Mikes Bikes Who have been very good over the years, but…read moreexpensive. I decided to give Natomas Bike a shot, as I like to support small businesses. My past two visits however have put me off ever dealing with them again, in particular because of the owner John. I recently needed my brakes tightened, and the derailleurs needed attention as I was unable to drop into the lower gear. I left it with them, was quoted $50 , and came in to collect it 4 days later. $50 all of a sudden became $60 when John found the bill. I paid with comment, but as we were leaving the store I noticed that the rear tire was flat, and I brought to his attention immediately. I pointed out to him that this had happened to me the last time I brought my bike in. He then became very defensive, but offered to replace the tube, at my cost, I said I'd be back in 2 hours. It wasn't ready two hours later, and he became defensive, and I felt as if he was blaming me. Another $20 later, I then tested the bike in the lot, and the gear problem was still there, it had not been fixed. I was so livid by this point I didn't want to take the bike back to him, and face more confrontation. I've been in Customer Service all my working life, over 40 years, and his customer disservice has brought me here to warn others on what to expect. I'm taking my bike back to Mikes in future. It may cost me more, but at least they treat me courteously and get the job done first time.

I've recently been riding a bike that was passed down to me. It's an 80's road bike. Its my first…read moretime riding a bike since my old BMX bike from my middle school days. I'm in my 20s now and know absolutely zilch about bikes. My chain snapped and I brought it into the bike kitchen. I paid $10 cash for the shop fee and immediately a volunteer helped me mount up my bike and get to work. He was so welcoming and fun to work with. We evaluated whether or not my chain was salvageable, and decided we should take a few links from a chain in the back, and add it to mine. It was only $3, and from there he taught me everything about repairing a chain. He was so nice and helpful, I used the tools and he kept watch to make sure I was doing it right. Sometimes that can be stressful, but he made sure it was a fun environment and we laughed almost the whole time. I could not recommend this place more. For them, its really just about the bikes. It felt amazing to fix it myself, and learn something about my bicycle. The volunteer also helped inspect my bike to make sure nothing else needed fixing. He explained it like, "you already paid the shop fee, lets see what else we can do". I hope I learn enough to volunteer here one day. Truly a 10/10 experience.

Really cool nonprofit organization supporting the Sacramento community through cycling!…read more They'll help fix your bike and teach you how to do it yourself for only $10. For kids up to 17 years old, bikes are free. A lot of low income or immigrants families benefit from this offering. Every second Saturday of the month, they host open bar nights with live music: check out their website for the artist lineup! One of their workshops was even a Bike Jewelry Workshop where people made jewelry from bike parts. SBK is focused on making cycling affordable and accessible while teaching bike maintenance and safety classes to help people become more independent riders. Besides the bike shop, they also do community outreach projects and are always looking for volunteers if you're interested in helping out!

I'll add my five star review and big compliments to Jordan and Velofix for a job well done…read more Jordan came out to our house to work on three of our bikes in need of a spring tuneup for the upcoming summer season. I'd like to say we are riding new carbon frame full suspension rides but we're not - our two MTB bikes are old steel framed Rocky Mountain hardtails and an old aluminum frame Trek road bike w/12,000+ miles being passed on to my son- and needed some tuning and TLC. Jordan got all three bikes in great shape for the upcoming summer season and gave my old road bike new life for another generation. Plus another summer on the hardtails makes the wife happy versus seeing a new Pivot Switchblade in the garage.

Extremely frustrating experience. Peloton scheduled a service appointment through Velofix and…read moreconfirmed the window as 8-10 AM. Later, I received an email from Velofix saying the time was actually 11 AM-1 PM, but I didn't notice the change right away. On the morning of the appointment, I called Velofix to clarify, and the representative told me it was too late to adjust anything and that I should've contacted them earlier. I let it go and agreed to keep the 11-1 window, rearranging my work schedule to be available. No one showed up. At 1:30 PM, I had to call my wife to let her know, and she followed up with Velofix -- only to be told the case had been closed because the service was "out of scope." No one informed me. I was literally on the phone with them that same morning and they said nothing about not coming. This whole experience showed a complete lack of communication and disregard for people's time. I won't be using Velofix again and wouldn't recommend them.
