Unfortunately, no one from the office contacted me to inform me of this change, so I was unexpectedly scheduled with Emaly Matari, PA, for a severe sore throat and persistent cough. My experience with Emaly Matari was extremely disappointing. I felt that my concerns were dismissed, and my symptoms were not thoroughly evaluated. My lungs were not examined, and despite explaining how I felt and requesting treatment, I left the appointment without any medication. Because my condition continued to worsen, I sought care from another physician later that same day, who prescribed azithromycin (Zithromax), although I was not prescribed prednisone. The following day, I located my former nurse practitioner, Michelle DeJesus, NP, at Evergreen Medical Group in River Edge. She took the time to listen carefully, performed a complete evaluation, including a rapid strep test, and prescribed the appropriate medications, including cough medicine. As it turned out, my throat culture was positive for Group C Streptococcus, with significant bacterial growth, confirming that I did indeed have a serious infection requiring treatment. Needless to say, I will not be returning to All Health Medical. I was instructed by Emaly Matari to return in one week for a follow-up evaluation, but after my experience, I chose to receive care elsewhere. So, Emaly, please consider this review my follow-up appointment. If you're looking for a healthcare provider who takes the time to listen, performs a thorough examination, and genuinely cares about her patients, I highly recommend Michelle DeJesus, NP, at Evergreen Medical Group in River Edge. My experience with her has always been professional, compassionate, and thorough, and I am grateful to have found her again!

The initial bloodwork ordered was quite basic and lacked thoroughness. While Dr. RB was polite, their approach felt very conventional and "by the book." Endocrinology is a highly complex field, and many patients--like myself--with intricate or non-standard issues require providers who are willing to think outside traditional guidelines. My test results showed hormone levels that were technically "in range," but far from optimal for good health. As many experts note, "in range" simply means within the broad reference values derived from the general population seeking testing--it does not necessarily indicate optimal function. During my follow-up visit, I felt somewhat dismissed because my results fell within those reference ranges. Additionally, I called the office with an important question for the doctor and never received a return call. When my long-time integrative physician returned from vacation and reviewed the same lab results, he immediately pointed out key omissions, such as Free T3 and Free T4 testing. He described my TSH as sluggish, ordered a spot urine iodine test, and provided a much more comprehensive evaluation. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this practice. As someone with a complex case, I need a provider equipped to address issues that don't fit neatly within standard protocols, and I did not feel this practice met that need.

Unfortunately, it has been 2 weeks and the referrals department refuses to submit the required forms for my insurance's prior authorization. I have gone back and forth with the office, and no one I speak to can provide an answer as to why they won't submit the forms. I was initially told when I called the office that my MRI had been authorized and I could go ahead with scheduling. I scheduled and my husband took the day off to bring me for the scan, but then my insurance told me I was NOT actually approved. I called the office again and I was told yes, the pre-auth process had not even started. I clarified with the referrals department to make sure there was nothing further they needed from me. The woman I spoke to rudely told me that it hadn't been done because she assumed I'd be using Pascack Valley for the scan (even though I had already confirmed with Pascack Valley I was going elsewhere, and was told I could schedule anywhere.) I checked if there was anything else she needed to submit the forms, and she said no and confirmed she'd submit it "now." Days later I call Bergen Medical again, and am told that the pre-auth process STILL has not begun. I am promised to get a call back about this in 2 business days to explain why I am being given the runaround. So of course two business days plus a weekend go by, I call Bergen Medical back, and yet again no one can help me. The forms have STILL not been submitted, despite the multiple calls and confirmation from the referrals department that it had been submitted the week prior. I don't know what else I'm supposed to do when my doctor has ordered a test and his staff won't submit the forms. I am genuinely baffled.

What makes this even more frustrating is that my health insurance had recently dropped this provider, but I was still willing to keep the appointment and pay out of pocket if necessary because I wanted to move forward with my hearing care. After being treated this way, I've changed my mind. I will not be returning and will take my business elsewhere. Patients deserve better communication, organization, and professionalism--especially when they take the time to make and confirm an appointment.

If the Dr does not treat a particular condition, that should have been identified when the appt was scheduled-not after making me wait six weeks in pain. Waiting until the day of the appt demonstrates a serious lack of organization and respect for me as a patient. Rather than taking responsibility for their error, the office simply tried to hand me off to another provider at the last minute. This is not the level of patient care I expect from a specialty practice. Mistakes happen but this one was entirely preventable. Unfortunately this experience fell short of a standard that I deserve and expect. It is unfortunate because Dr Choe is one of the most compassionate, caring and knowledgable doctors I have had the pleasure of seeing . Everything from start to finish went fine, and I was very happy with the level of service I received from this facility. In the week leading up to my surgery, I received several calls from both Englewood ENT and the Surgery Center to ensure everything was set for my procedure - from paperwork to schedule changes and beyond. I prefer more information than less, so I was happy to receive even a quick phone call or text to update me on even the slightest change. The hardest part about this center is the location - it's really tucked in to a bizarre neighborhood in Fort Lee. However, the location sent me a direct pin to the front door which really helped. (When looking it up on Google Maps, the ETA was slightly different. The listed location on Google Maps is not as accurate at the pin they provide, so use the location that the text message sends out.) I was also grateful for the message about the parking they sent beforehand - the place is undergoing construction and they gave us a head's up about how it may be different to find parking. Obviously, for a surgical procedure, one can expect to be there early to make sure everything runs smoothly. I arrived 90 minutes before my scheduled time (7:30am). The gentleman at the front desk was kind and informative. You basically submit everything before you go, so you only need to sign some paperwork before you go in. The waiting room is also very chill and comfortable, with a TV screen that gives you up-to-date patient information so your guest can know what's going on. Upon entering pre-opt, every person was lovely, kind, and informative. Shout out to Elmer who took my pre-opt notes while I was getting ready! I am a talker (especially when I'm nervous) and the nurses were very happy to engage in conversation with me. While I was finished and waiting to wake up from anesthesia, the Center and doctor called my dad to let them know how I was doing. Upon waking, AJ took care of me - she's awesome! I was out and ready by 11am. I really could not have asked for a better experience!

I discovered I needed to allow lots of time for traffic, especially in the morning. They called me pre-op to get all the necessary information and answered all my questions about my transportation. I was having local anesthesia, so I was able to drive myself home. When I arrived I was greeted and made comfortable in the waiting room. It is very clean! Pre op nurse Elmer did everything correct. Thank you to Josephine, RN who visited me in pre-op. It truly helps when you are a little nervous to have kind and considerate people speaking to you! They informed me of exactly what would happen. Or Nurses Cristina and Karen and Dr. Ekstein spoke with me pre op and during procedure so I knew exactly what was going on. Everything went according to plan. My recovery room nurse Lorraine gave me written and verbal instruction, offered nourishment and assistance, answered all my questions and saw me safely out of the building. I was very impressed with the center, the staff, the kindness and professionalism. I am a nurse and it's pretty hard to please us! A+ in every way.

Everyone was kind and made me feel at ease. The doctor answered all of my questions and was thorough in her treatment plan for me. I really appreciated her thoughtfulness. During m exam, she respected my privacy when I asked not to have another nurse in the room. Overall, it was a good visit and probably the best GYN visit I've had. The doctor also does aesthetic services in the same office too including Botox, laser hair removal and microneedling.
