I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with the treatment I received at MetroVein Centers in Hackensack, NJ, under Dr. Garrison's care. What should have been a straightforward cosmetic procedure turned into a horrific experience that left me with severe burns, permanent scarring, and zero accountability from both Dr. Garrison and MetroVein Centers. I initially sought treatment for vein issues. After completing Radiofrequency Ablation procedures, Dr. Garrison assured me that my medical concerns were resolved and recommended cosmetic treatment for my spider veins--two sclerotherapy sessions and one laser session. Trusting his expertise, I agreed. I underwent a laser treatment that resulted in two severe burns on my legs. Both developed large blisters that ruptured the same day, leaking fluid. Despite following all aftercare instructions, the wounds remained open, wet, and required dressing changes multiple times per day for weeks. I had to seek emergency care at an urgent care facility, where the doctor advised me to immediately contact MetroVein Centers because my wounds were clearly the result of an improperly performed laser procedure. When I returned to MetroVein Centers that same day, the medical assistant was visibly horrified at my injuries and directly asked if Dr. Garrison had caused them. When Dr. Garrison entered the room, he looked scared, knowing something had gone terribly wrong. He provided me with bandages and medication and tried to brush it off as something that "happens." However, he knew he had made a serious mistake and promised me free future sclerotherapy sessions--clearly as an attempt to pacify me. I spent the entire summer covering my wounds, changing bandages multiple times per day, and watching my burns turn into permanent scars. Eventually, a dermatologist confirmed my scars were irreversible. When I reached out to MetroVein Centers, Dr. Garrison was suddenly dismissive and unprofessional. He initially refused to honor his promise, offering only one free session--not because he felt obligated, but because he thought I was a "nice person." This was not only insulting but a blatant refusal to take accountability. After I left the office, I received a call informing me that I would actually receive two free sessions. It was only after I mentioned consulting a lawyer that Dr. Garrison finally agreed to provide the free sclerotherapy sessions he had originally promised. I went forward based on that agreement and received two free sessions. However, after those two treatments, MetroVein Centers went back on their word and demanded payment for any further sessions. When I asked to speak with Dr. Garrison, I saw him in the office, but staff refused to let me talk to him. Instead, I received a vague call from a MetroVein representative who downplayed my burns as a "side effect"--when in reality, this was clear medical negligence. Dr. Garrison has since stopped performing cosmetic procedures at MetroVein Centers, which speaks volumes about what happened in my case. However, his actions, and the way MetroVein Centers handled this situation, should not be ignored. If you are considering MetroVein Centers, especially for cosmetic procedures, I urge you to think twice. A clinic that injures a patient, refuses to take responsibility, and tries to dismiss serious complications as routine side effects is a clinic that does not prioritize patient safety. Weeks have passed, and I have received no further communication from MetroVein Centers. While I have chosen not to pursue legal action, I refuse to remain silent. Potential patients deserve to know the truth. I have officially filed a complaint with the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners and NJ Consumer Affairs, and I encourage others to report their experiences if they have suffered similar mistreatment. MetroVein Centers failed me completely. I will never trust them again, and I strongly advise others to avoid them. read more

The absolute worst. I have seen zero improvement from this facility.. actually my legs look absolutely worse than when I started.. the doctor.. Garrison makes weird inappropriate jokes and doesn't take your concerns or complaint seriously. I honestly think they do work that is not necessary in order to scan your insurance company. I am so traumatized from my experience here . My spider veins are more visible, and now I have green varicose veins. I have never had green varicose veins. I opted not to do laser after reading the consent forms. I was injected as an alternative, and the doctor did this without me processing what was happening. My leg feels so off almost every day. Throbbing, and it's horrible because so many other veins came forth on my outer skin. I used to be able to wear skirts , I literally had minor spider veins. Now I am unable to wear skirts bc of this center. Stay away. Other centers explain things with care and reasonable explanations. Not here. Also, after I backed out of laser , the doctor insisted I get injected and told the person who did the sonogram, this is how we get paid. So disgusted. Do not go here. read more

Metro Vein Center is a friendly & professional office. They make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in, through consultation/procedure and when you leave. Dr Garrison has a great bedside manner that a lot of doctors now a days lack. He is friendly and walks you through the procedure as he goes along. He showed create empathy for my comfort. Make sure to check your own insurance or else be stuck w thousands of dollars worth of bills bc they can't be trusted. Went in for 1 Vericose vein that was bothering me (on my right leg). They said I had others (that were not visible) on my left leg and another (non visible one) on the right leg. I said didn't care about the others just really wanted the big one on my right leg done. But convinced me to do the others. Said 3 appts for the veins then done. They said it takes a few weeks to get approved by your insurance. They said they got the approval. Went in for the first visit. Wasn't even numb and had them stop mid procedure bc my leg felt like it was on fire. They did, then it was finally numb they proceeded. Happened the second time too. The third time I had sclerotherapy (finally for the right leg Vericose vein) that I actually came in for. Dr. Said ok we'll do xyz next time. I said what? I was told 3 times what else do I have to do? He said idk check w the front desk. lol you don't know? Anyway come back again and after repeat procedure the doctor said the right leg Vericose vein may need to be injected again(a third time) bc it is still open. It does bc it's still not gone away. I get a $891 bill in the mail for the first procedure. I call up. They said it was subject to my deductible. They said I should have called my own insurance to find out if it was bc they can't do it bc they have 50 something offices and are too busy to do that. If you tell someone their insurance approved it, why would they call up themselves? I repeated several times that someone should have told me I wouldn't have got all this treatment then. My bill is $3k, how do you expect me to pay that? Now I had useless procedures that I didn't even want on my left leg and the right Vericose vein is still there. Last week,I drove my aunt to a consultation at Metro Vein Center . She had a mediocre experience. When she walked into the office,she said the energy was a little off but didn't think much of it. Before arriving to the appointment, my aunt was reluctant to come here ( due to a language barrier). I told her not to be scared and assured her I would be by her side to help her every step of the way. Bregite, an employee was amazing! She translated for her and held her hand through the consultation. Prior to communicating with Bregite, she tried speaking to another nurse who was dismissive and unfriendly. Honestly, because of this my aunt is looking for another center to possibly receive treatment. If she decides to return , it will be because of Nurse Bregite. She made us feel like family when she didn't have to. There should be more people like her! Thank you. read more

I went for 9 procedures from June thru November of 2018. I really went for spider veins but was told if I treated bigger issues namely varicose veins that the spider veins would be treated for free and my legs would be beautiful. My insurance approved the visits but sadly I still have the exact spider veins no change. I would say they over promise during the consultation which was very very rosy but in terms of esthetic outcome not so much. Also, they are rabid about collecting what "you owe." If I could put 0 stars I would. I had an appointment scheduled for 1 pm yesterday with Dr. Garrison, arrived on time with all my paperwork completed and then sat down to wait, wait, wait. I also found the receptionists impolite, unhelpful, young girls listening to some sort of unpleasant hip-hop music, which I could have done without. I was the sole patient in the waiting room but I still sat there for half an hour in silence with absolutely no interaction with the staff or reassurance that I would be seen shortly. At 1:30 I got up, told the receptionist I was leaving, said that it is rude and disrespectful to keep patients waiting, that my time is valuable too, and she just blankly stared at me. She did not say she would find out what the delay was or encourage me to wait just a few moments more. I arrived to a stark, silent office and left also in silence. No one called to apologize or to invite me back because they simply DON'T CARE. This is my new personal policy--I will wait 30 minutes and then I will leave, never to return. I cannot believe how ambivalent and unrepentent they were and how poorly they treated me, knowing this was my first and only visit to their office. I will not give them a second chance and will tell everyone to avoid this cold, unbusiness-like, incompetent, indifferent physician's office. They blew it! read more
