Easily equal to Chagrin Falls, Chardon Square or any other in northeast Ohio. We arrived and parked along the main street, strolled down the block to the front door. Upon entering you desend the stairway to your left. At the bottom you pass through a glass door into a very nicely appointed dining room (see attached picture). This is a "below the sidewalk" establishment and gives off a smokey, speakeasy type vibe... very classy. As you enter you will discover the hostess is at the far end of the room where the entrance from the rear parking lot is. Evidently that is where the majority of customers enter. I prefer the front... no matter. She saw us right away and immediately walked over and greeted our party. We were quickly seated at our table for the evening. A nice gentleman introduced himself as Christian, our server for the evening. He was quick with a smile and full of knowledge and energy. We placed our drink order and began to peruse the menu. The regular and evening specials menus are more than satisfactory to make any pallet happy. We began with "Deviled Eggs" topped with Caviar, need I say, they were marvelous. Also, the "Oysters Rockefeller" were excellent. The choice of entree's are very nice. My wife chose "Chilean Seabass" Spice Rubbed Carrot/Ginger Puree Haricot Verts Almond/Yuzu Chimichurri. I went with my absolute favorite, "Lamb Chops" Herb Crusted Dijon Crispy Gnocchi Green Peppercorn Jus. So did my brother. And his wife ordered the "Sea Scallops" Roasted Beets Humboldt Fog Pistachios Orange/Saffron Butter. Everything was exceptional as always. KUDOS to the entire kitchen staff. We followed dinner with a fine cup of coffee and shared a couple orders of "Whipped Chocolate Mousse" infused with chopped hazelnuts... fabulous. So, as I have said before, if you enjoy "Fine Dining" that is consistently excellent; make the trip to Hudson, Ohio and visit "Downtown 140". You'll be glad you did.

My wife got the Bourbon Maple Glazed Salmon with green beans and honey cornbread, which she loved. I got the pick 2 and chose Beef Brisket & ribs. The brisket was excellent, with a small amount of a sweet sauce on it. The ribs though were not great, they were a little below average. They looked and tasted like either they were just overcooked a little, or the barbecue sauce was applied too early. They were a little dry, the outside was charred, and there was very little sauce on them. The cheddar grits and green beans were excellent. The cornbread had honey on it and was wonderful. The service was great. There is plenty of parking too. We will likely be back.

Every time I have visited, it's been very clean, busy but with no wait, and very lively. I have had the same server every time, and she is very bright & pleasant each time. The service is quick, and servers are attentive! Now... for the main event: the food. The forester burger has grilled mushrooms, caramelized onions, swiss cheese, fried shiitake mushrooms and truffle aioli. The combination, along with a juicy burger patty is amazing. The bun was perfectly toasted, and the truffle aioli doubles as a perfect dip for the fries. I cannot recommend this burger enough. I am picky about restaurant burgers and often find them overcooked, and Flip Side nails it every time. I had a cocktail as well, and it was perfectly balanced, and delightful! I'll be back soon, and probably bringing new friends, it's just that great of an experience.

They have a large selection of house wines as well as other brands. The server was kind but didn't seem very knowledgeable about the wine. All the dishes are enormous and meant to be shared. We shared the goat cheese with blackberry preserves and a Genoa flatbread and even with the three of us, we had a lot to take home with us. The duo and the flatbread were both incredible. The flatbread is actually two whole flatbreads and the dip was the size of a dinner plate. They were kind to get us an extra loaf of bread to go with the dip because we ran out. Their kitchen closed at 8 even though they were open until 9. That was about annoying because we considered ordering an additional dish but worked out fine since the dishes were so large.

We arrived around 5:45pm and sat at the bar with only 2 other people who we realized were regulars. The bartender immediately got us menus, but decided to chat with them for an extra long period of time despite making eye contact with us several times while we were trying to order drinks. We sat for a solid 10 minutes with our menus closed and stacked with no drinks or food order placed while she chatted with them. We finally flagged her down to order. The rest of the night followed the same pattern. We intended to order a second round but she routinely glanced at our empty glasses and went back to chatting with others around us instead. The food was so mediocre, we didn't even bother getting boxes given how the night was going. We asked for our check and 3x she looked at our card on the tray to instead chat with others before we finally had to ask her to run the tab. We will not be back.
