Strawberry Lemonade
Aaron O.

Vees Café is such a gem in the middle of DTLA. I'll mention this first, as it's super rare in DTLA - they provide free parking (!!!), which is a godsend here and immediately makes the experience more relaxed. You walk up to the counter to order, and since the menu is big, I'd recommend scoping it out beforehand if it's busy. The staff is helpful, though, and guided us through a couple of choices. We split a Strawberry Lemonade, which was super refreshing, and also had some of their infused water. For food, I went with the Vees Butterfly Pasta. It came with a rich, creamy sauce, plenty of fresh cheese on top, and shrimp that paired beautifully with the dish. The bread provided was delish and just right for soaking up the extra sauce. I loved the colorful little flower on top, too. Gave the dish a great extra pop of color. My wife had the California Wrap, which was light, fresh, and tasty, without being too heavy. She was also a big fan of the fries, which she said were cooked just right. Both meals felt satisfying and well-balanced. The restaurant itself has a laid-back, modern atmosphere that makes it perfect for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Service was friendly and attentive, and the whole place felt welcoming and clean. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to make pricing a little more visible, maybe with a wall menu or some printed menus up front for people to look through before ordering. That aside, everything was awesome. We are rooting for this place to keep thriving, and we will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Great vibe and great food in DTLA.

JUST PROTEIN PLATE

Love how secluded this place is from all the noise and heavy traffic of DOWNTOWN LA. Entry into the parking station is off of Figueroa. The venue will give you a validation voucher so you don't have to pay. This place is huge! And can accommodate about 50 people or more . Love that the place is quiet and the back music is not loud. I started my morning with the Just Protein plate and the chorizo panini. The just protein plate has grilled chicken breast and 5 egg whites with a side of fruit. I was left speechless at the quality and quantity of the food. Very much enjoyed their side salsa 10/10. The panini chorizo was also high quality. Literally blew my mind at how delicious it all was. I haven't had a chorizo panini anywhere else, so I can't really compared it or say I had better. However, it being my first I know it will not be my last. Lastly, the drink.... I was not impressed with the strawberry matcha. Felt it needed something just can't quite put my finger on it. Overall, service was amazing. Female cashier was polite and patient with our large group. The place was super clean and welcoming. I will return again.

Another cute spot to duck into what is special about Vees is that the have a variety of food that they actually do well, & they can satisfy a sweet tooth craving or an urge to eat healthy & yummy at the same time I had banana coffee for the first time, WHAT have I been missing?! FOOD&DRINK: Mixed Berry Fruit Smoothie Banana Coffee Chipotle Chicken Sandwich Breakfast Burrito French Toast

This is the side of "steak". If you look at the pictures on DoorDash compared to what you see in this photo you'll be blown away.
Hoot G.

I ordered food from here off DoorDash and it was so gross I couldn't eat it. The fruit with my classic breakfast was one sad strawberry, thinly sliced and thrown in a loose bag with four blueberries. The side of "steak" was so greasy it was leaking through the container, and the contents inside, not only looked nothing like the photo on the website, but I don't think could be classified as steak. The scramble I ordered with extra vegetables, came with no vegetables and looked like complete slop. Avoid this place!

Chilaquiles Verdes

Omg! This was the wordy experience. We went particularly because my daughter wanted a parfait as it was on the menu seen on yelp. But they didn't have yogurt. So we ordered something else. Like toast. The girl looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for a refund of my 15 dollar parfait. Then said she couldn't refund me. Then had to call a manager, to tell me he can refund me in maybe 2-3 hours or tomorrow!! Wtf? Needless to say I had to walk out with no refund and dispute with my bank just to save myself energy and to keep me from exploding. On an other note my chiliquiles were trash. The eggs weren't cooked all the way. And I picked at it and threw it away. Never again. Do not be fooled by the photos.

Burnt plastic container, for nachos. LOL
Pete J.

Do not order their nachos. The soggiest, burnt, tortilla chips in LA. They also melted the plastic container they were served in, rendering them not able to eat. Plastic and hot soggy, burnt, tortilla chips....a genius must be in charge!

I was meeting a friend for lunch who was staying at the Westin Bonaventure. There aren't too many lunch options open on a Saturday afternoon, so we decided to give this place a try. It was a very pleasant surprise! It's a large, clean cafe with many booths and tables on the ground floor of an office complex. There is 1 hour free parking in the garage with validation. We ordered the Chicken Greek Salad and Tuna Melt panini. Both were tasty and the portions were large. They also have a good selection of fresh juices and smoothies. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The service was friendly and prompt. It's definitely a nice choice for breakfast or lunch in the downtown area, especially on Saturday or Sundays when not much else is open.

Vees Café is my new favorite spot in DTLA! Amazing food, excellent coffee, super friendly staff, and the vibe is exactly what you want when you need a break from the downtown chaos. Fresh ingredients, fast service, great music, and validated parking for over an hour. A true neighborhood gem -- I'm officially a regular now!

Jared F.

For what it is, it ain't bad. The food is about what you'd expect for a quick cafe in downtown. The place was pretty quiet when we went, so I'm not sure if it's a testament to other days. The staff were super friendly.

The café is located within an apartment complex and offers underground parking, which the coffee shop validates the first hour is only $3. Street parking is also available. You follow the café signs to an elevator, and once you arrive, you're welcomed into a moody, beautiful space. DOGS ARE ALLOWED which is awesome. There's plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor area feels like a balcony terrace combo with a small but lovely view of the LA skyline. We sat here and our doggo enjoyed a nap in the sun. It's a great spot to work, study, or catch up with friends without feeling cramped or rushed. The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and friendly. They offer a nice variety of drinks, and we ordered an iced matcha latte and a hot Madagascar vanilla latte. For pastries, we chose a guava madeleine and a cookie butter madeleine. Everything is made fresh, and they actually whisk the matcha for each drink, which really shows in the quality. Our drinks came out quickly and were delicious. I loved my matcha, and my husband really enjoyed his latte. The pastries were also great, especially the cookie butter madeleine. This café is dog-friendly, which is a nice bonus. Overall, it was such a pleasant experience, and we'll definitely be back.

They only validate for 30 minutes, which honestly feels short given the setup. The vibes are immaculate though. Excellent music selection and sound quality -- it made the space really easy to focus in (unless you hate music). That alone elevated the experience a lot for me. I went on a Monday around 5 PM and they had no food available, which was disappointing because the kimchi fried rice sounded amazing. I ordered the matcha, and it was genuinely excellent. The foam had a slight saltiness to it that paired really well with the drink, and the matcha itself tasted high quality. I wouldn't change anything about it. My drink came out to around $9 including tip. Overall, I really liked this place and would probably come here often if I lived nearby. Between the expensive parking, limited outlet-to-seat ratio, and lack of food during my visit, I'd give it a solid 4/5.

I stopped by around noontime and there were people inside/outside chatting, working, taking pics in the photobooth, etc. The line went by quickly and I had my hojicha einspanner in no time! It was so tasty!! The cream top was light and not too sweet. The hojicha was smooth. I really enjoyed it, and the latte definitely helped me keep cool while driving around LA on such a hot day. It is indeed a small spot, so if you're looking for a quiet spot to work, this might not be it. The interior decor, though, is quite clean aesthetically and is relaxing to work in. The Matcha Latte, though, let me say if you're in need of an afternoon pick-me-up, this will keep you energized, even without the sugar!
